My topic that I have chosen is the Casablanca Conference . This conference basically changed a lot of things during WWII. The Conference was held in the year of 1943 January 14 – January 24, also it was held in Morocco, Casablanca. The conference was decided to be held in Casablanca, Morocco because it was the safest place and closest for all the allies to meet together. Morocco welcomed the allies because they wanted the war to end as bad as anyone. Some countries loved the war because even though it might kill your population a war would bring money into your country because all of the trade going on. The prime minister suggested that the U.S help them bomb Germany. “Maybe after that it would be good to attack Germany” said Prime minister of Britain. It would be smart to attack the Germans, when they are weak. The president was a little hesitant to agree with the prime minister idea. Frank D. Roosevelt did not want to destroy anyone’s population and that’s including Japan and Italy. Franklin D. Roosevelt wanted to change Germany, Italy, and Japan P hilosophy of the world, because you cannot just take someone’s rights from someone. Franklin D. Roosevelt was a pretty respectable man and kind-hearted but the War drained him. On the other hand, the Generals were in compliance with Prime minister strategy. The leaders of discuss the strategy and they also decided that they wanted an “unconditional surrender” a surrender in which no guarantees are given to the surrendering party. Basically the allies wanted the countries to give up without asking for anything back. Franklin D. Roosevelt even broadcasted across the radio that they were accepting nothing less than unconditionally war. He announced that statement on February 12, 1943. “In our uncompromising policy we mean no harm to the common people of the Axis nations.
