So we finally got to go on vacation. Our cousins own a condo right on Myrtle Beach. It’s a very nice condo, some what expensive. It’s on a complex, third story with two balconies. It has four bedrooms and two baths, but the downside is they aren’t that big. We were all pretty excited except for me. A few other family members that I don’t know are coming along. I might feel left out. I was probably going to be miserable.
The cousins that are coming aren’t really closely related. They live down in Virginia on the shore line so I expected them to be all stuck up because they would get everything they want. They would be staying at a hotel near by, not to mention a hotel that one night costs more than the condo a month.
This was my first time

But when we stepped in the condo it seemed as the rooms were already claimed. It was a shame everyone was down by the beach and not waiting for us, but I wouldn’t blame them, the water look beautiful that day. It seemed as if my cousin Maddie got me and my sister the room with the balcony, which had an amazing view. We got into our swimsuits and headed to the beach. I was excited to go swimming and surfing. As soon as your toes hit the sand you could feel the mist for the ocean. We met up with our family and had a little family reunion. We were talking about old memories and catching up. My Aunt Marsha said Uncle John and Aunt Sydney and their kids were still at their …show more content…
The sand was hot on my feet to the point where my feet were aching. I would take breaks by standing by the tide for a few minutes. My parents and my Aunt and Uncle started talking about the old days so i decided to go and sunbathe. My sister, Sara and Maddie got fed up so they went up in the house.
Uncle John and Aunt Sydney arrived with their kids. They were a lot taller than I imaged. Nick was around sixteen and Drake just turned eighteen. Nick seemed on the quiet side but other than that they seemed like hysterical people. They also seemed very active because as soon as their feet hit the ground, they took off running to the surfboard renting place. At this point I was alone. I was debating if i should go back to the condo or stay at the beach and swim.
Cassie walked up to me and asked if i wanted to swim, of course I said yes. She told me all about her interest. She said she wants to go into the biology field. She likes to play volleyball and she likes to swim. I was shocked that we had a lot in common. The boys invited us to surf with them. I was nervous because we went out far and i haven’t been surfing for awhile. I didn’t get a lot of waves because I was too slow or someone would claim them. When I did get a wave I felt as if i were flying. I remember one time Drake was right behind me and he fell off of his board. His board went flying and hit me in the head. It felt as if i had a huge bump.
The rest of the trip was very entertaining and I enjoyed the beach even more. The difference between the Pacific Coast and the Gulf Shore was completely different, but in a curious way. It expanded my horizons of the world we live in and what natural beauty it contains. It also taught me that having patience can give better results. Even though we had a long drive to get to our rental house, it was
The 4th day we were there a tropical storm happened, no one was allowed in the ocean pasted their ankles, so instead of swimming we went crab hunting, but because they would pinch our fingers we decided to hunt for seashells instead.
They all greeted us with hugs and compliments. There were: My uncle, aunt, cousins, grandma, and grandpa and we greeted them while my grandma set up
I really didn't like it there. I didn't have my family with me. I was so uncomfortable and
One downfall of this vacation is if you stay at Seaside Retreat on 138th street. When we got there the rooms were not clean. The cleaning service came
It was June 10, the day we got out of school and headed to the beach. It was our annual family trip to Myrtle Beach which meant going to Family Kingdom, River City, to the ocean, and playing around. I couldn’t wait it was finally time to go and as soon as we got on the highway my mom stops the car and turns around because she forgot her pillow. That didn’t really bother me because everyone forgets things. We were about two hours into the trip when my brother realizes that he forgot his phone. He complained the whole rest of the way how he wanted to go home and he didn’t want to go all because of his phone. But the best part was soon to come. We stopped at a convenient store to rest and get a snack. I got a bag of Chex Mix and a Blue Raspberry
It was a beautiful sunny day and my family and I were driving on the expressway. We were in my Dad’s blue truck with the fifth wheel behind us. We had the windows down in the amazing 80 degree weather. We were around our exit, Myrtle Beach! I was so excited for the trip and couldn’t wait to put my foot in the blue, cold, salt water. After the like 15 hour drive we had just suffered through I was expecting a pretty great trip.
So you were one of the kids who had been there, and there were a lot of new kids this season. When the new kids came in this year, what did you do to make them feel welcomed like you had been last year?
here we had a big family ,my aunt and her family, my uncle and his family, my grandfather and
On the morning of June 17, 2016, I woke up with a smile on my face like it was Christmas morning. I launched myself out of bed to take a quick shower before I was to meet my friends to leave for Daytona Florida. We planned this trip months ahead of time when we found out there was a truck meet on the weekend of June 18th and 19th. The truck meet we went to was where anyone who owned a pickup truck could come down to Daytona Florida and drive on the beach to get to mingle and entertain one another for the weekend. We met at a local gas station in Morgantown Kentucky at eight that morning. There was eleven of us total going on the trip, my father, Robbie Henderson, my friend Seth Gaskey and his father, Jimmy Gaskey, my
When it was midnight, we loaded the car and drove through Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama. We stopped at a few places to grab food or gas. It was a long time, but it was worth it when we finally reached our condo. It was beautiful! We went to the balcony to see the ocean and it was crystal clear. The beach wasn’t crowded either. We hurried to put on bathing suits and sunscreen. Then we walked downstairs to the beach. The sand was warm and felt great. My sister’s and I ran to the water and
We did a great mass of marvelous things. One of the most amazing things we saw was Hogwarts, the school from Harry Potter. We drove back to the Briscoes’ house and stayed there for about four more days. The fun was not over. The next day we went to Clam Pass Beach in Naples. You would not believe how incredibly soft that sand was! It felt like I was walking on marshmallows! As I watched the sun sink into the ocean I spoke to myself, “This is the best vacation ever.”
Celebrating the New Year with people you don't know, let alone can barely communicate with seems absurd. Most people would be quick to say no thank you, I believe that I too would have been that person to turn down this opportunity if it weren't for it being my boyfriend's family. I am so thankful and happy that I did get to experience this. I was scared and nervous at first, but this experience has opened my eyes to so many more opportunities. This New Year's experience will be one that I will never forget; it has intrigued me to learn much more about the Hispanic culture! Who knows maybe a trip to Mexico could be in my
The family we have down there are our pap and step gram. They have been wanting us to go down. Our step gram has been wanting to spend time with us. She wants to go to the beach with us.
It was the summer of 1977, and my father decided to pack the station wagon and drive from Fort Worth to Tampa, Florida. Besides my parents in the vehicle, my two sisters and brother also joined us for the long journey. I was young and excited and did not realize the distance my father would be driving on this trip. We made two stops on the way down and the first one was in Mississippi at a Holiday Inn. My first time spending the night the night at a hotel occurred on this vacation, and I was excited. We had adjoining rooms with my parents, and we spent the evening in the pool and watching television all night. I was never aware of my parents’ finances but I know now, we did not have a lot of money. From Mississippi, we stopped again in Tallahassee, Florida and we swam in the ocean during the afternoon and hit the hotel pool in the
