November 27 2017 Best Team in the NBA
In the lifespan of the NBA, no team has improved fan engagement for the game of basketball as much as the Dream Team. This team was consisted of the best NBA players such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and others. Because of this, the Dream Team was able to dominate every opponent they faced, causing the NBA to rise in popularity from new viewers. But in the modern NBA, the Golden State Warriors have shown that they too can destroy every team they go up against. Since the Warriors are the closest team to match this amazing team, they are the greatest team in the NBA.
Before the Dream Team era had begun, the men’s basketball team for

But the Warriors proved his hypothesis as incorrect, when they beat the all-time record for wins in a season and were known to blow out every team, due to their fast paced offense. This is further justified in the 2016 offseason, when the Warriors were able to persuade superstar Kevin Durant, to join the Warriors and assemble a star-studded lineup that had the capability to rival even the Dream Team. The man who enabled the Warriors to gain such a dominant team was general manager, Bob Myers. He was a lawyer who grew up watching Warrior’s basketball, and eventually landed the general manager position. His passion as a fan and intelligent decision making on players is what led the Warriors on their path to success. This is also supported in Upper Echelons in Professional Sport: The Impact of NBA General Managers on Team Performance where they state that “we suggest that younger GMs are more likely to suggest innovative strategies than their older counterparts” (Juravich 471). This was seen whenever he didn’t trade Klay Thompson for Kevin Love, and drafted bottom tier players like Draymond, who both play vital roles in the organization’s success. Because all the players on the Warriors knew their role on the team, it gives rise to perfect execution and communication, which allowed them to wipe out their opponents. This was also evident in the Dream Team, where the coaching staff had to pick
The Chicago Bulls joined the NBA for the 1966-67 season. The franchise struggled for the better part of a quarter century, occasionally putting excellent teams on the court, such as the tough units of the mid-1970s that featured Bob Love, Norm Van Lier, Jerry Sloan, and Tom Boerwinkle. More often, however, the Bulls worked hard for mediocre results. That all changed in the mid-1980s with the drafting of Michael Jordan, the dominant player of his era and possibly the greatest player of all time. Jordan won seven straight scoring titles with a combination of breathtaking slam dunks and a bag of thrilling tricks. He put up some of the biggest numbers in NBA history and wrote some of the most memorable chapters of the league. The addition of Scottie
Steph Curry’s hard work led him to be the face of the Warriors franchise. Stephen Curry has gotten many achievements and will continue to do so. He will lead the Warriors to another NBA title this
The Thunder’s dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook headed the Western Conference Northwest top team to its 46 wins in 68 games played this season.
Like I mentioned earlier they have 2 rings in another league, and 3 in the NBA. They have appeared in the NBA finals 6 times. The team has 9 conference finals, 7 division championships, and 21 playoff appearances. There best season occurred in 2015-16 going 73-9, and there worst being in 2000-01, going 17-65. In the 06-07 season, the Warriors team none as "We Believe" made a huge mark in history, coming in as the 8th seed in the playoffs, they beat the 1st seeded Mavericks in the first round. This was a huge accomplishment, seeing that the warriors hadn't made the playoffs in a very long time. They ended up losing in the second round to the Jazz, but they we're still noticed as a team that believed. Along with team success, they also have had individual success. GSW has 17 Hall of Famers. They have won coach of the year 3 times, Most Improved 2 times, R.O.Y 4 times, D.P.O.Y once, and MVP 2 times. (Both were Stephen Curry, 2 years in a row.) When winning the finals, their MVP's were Rick Barry in 75', Andre Igoudala in 15', and Kevin Durant in 17'. But to have great success, you need good staff and
The Cavaliers, a basketball team, plagued with injuries and losing two big superstar players. The injuries damaged the Cavaliers like broken bones. Observing one man, LeBron, hoist his injury-plagued team to victory, would have been astonishing, posting stats such as 45.7 minutes per game, 35.8 points per game, 13.3 points per game, 8.8
The article written by Bruce Jenkins starts off by saying that the regular season of the Warriors was a “bumbling mess”. This article was written to be read generally by the people of San Francisco and Warriors fans. The Warriors went from a historic 73-9 record in the 2016 season, to a 67-15 record in the 2017 season, and a recent 58-24 record in the 2018 season. At the beginning of the article, Bruce talks about factors that have led to the teams bumpy season like not having a reliable center. He says that the team has reached a point to where the team’s centers are not feared by any postseason opponent. Towards the end of the article, Bruce talks about the future of the team and things to consider. He talks about possible matchups and how the team isn’t ready defensively to play, even if Stephen Curry is on the court. With the article discussing the Warriors’ downward spiral, the article uses the devices of ethos, logos, and pathos.
Standing on the floor of Quicken Loans Arena, Stephen Curry wins his first ever NBA Championship. Game six of the NBA Finals has ended and thousands of fans scream and shout with excitement. Stephen Curry is looked at as the leader of the Golden State Warriors, the winners of the season. Considered one of the greatest shooters of all time, he is adored across the country. Stephen finished the season with a championship and MVP award, and at first glance it seems simply because of his hard work and dedication to sport he loves. However, other factors may have been involved that lead him towards his accomplishments.
As the summer winds down and the NBA season is upon us, the Golden State Warriors are planning for their fight to claim another championship ring. Last season, the Warriors won the most games in a single season in NBA history (73), but fell just short of winning back-to-back championships. Having recruited superstar Kevin Durant, who joined the team this summer, seems to have made Golden State even more frightening than it already was. However, past experiences have shown us that a cluster of superstars on one team doesn’t necessarily mean an automatic ring.
When Curry went into the professional world everything change for him, and his life. In fact, Curry is the best player on the warriors for many reasons. For an example, Curry has great move when it’s comes to playing a basketball game, Curry lead an early 16-game win streak and was the leading vote-getter for the 2015 All-Star
When Anthony Davis has been healthy, he has given fans a vision from the past when legendary centers were the conquering giants of the NBA. Davis’s point totals per game have increased every season, finishing fourth in points per game behind three electric backcourt players.
Here is a fact. In 2016, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook were up 3-1 in a series against the 73-win Warriors
When I commenced reading the book The Dream Team I already had some prior knowledge. Such as how they were the best team ever assembled, or how they had all NBA players and 1 rookie, and most obvious they played in the Olympics against other countries. I also already knew some of the players. Just a few are Michael Jordan the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time). Then you got Earvin “Magic” Johnson considered the primo point guard of all time due to his height and play style. Magic also attended Michigan State University for 3 years and wins a national title there. Next is Larry “Legend” Bird probably the finest 3 point shooter of all time he lost to magic in college in the finals. Now those 3 guys were the best in the sport for about 2 decades.
The team that Curry has is a record setting team that fits to his playstyle. Curry’s teammates helped him flourish to the special player he is today. Curry has teammates that are willing to sacrifice their points to help the team win and vice versa. According to the chart in NBA.com (Stephen Curry Career Stats), it portrays how many assists Curry has produced. An assist is where a player passes the ball to another player who then scores. Curry has averaged 6.9 assists throughout his entire career and he has played with the same team all those years. Those plays involve an intricate set of movements that so far have been successful for Curry’s teammates. There are some who would say that those plays can be run for any player and have the same outcome. The matter of fact is that specific types of players have different types of roles and abilities. And Curry’s teammates have proven to execute plays and compliment Curry’s playstyle
With the rest of the world having four years to prepare themselves, the third group of NBA players to call themselves the Dream Team knew that their road to the gold medal in the 1996 Summer Games were going to be more difficult. The same excitement that overcame the fans at the Barcelona games overcame the fans in Atlanta because the Dream Team had the home court advantage.
The NBA has helped make basketball one of the most popular sports in the world. A large reason why basketball became popular is because of the stars they changed the game like Michael Jordan and Julius Erving.
