In the story, All the Missing Girls, written by Megan Miranda, the main character is Nicolette Farrell. The main setting is Nicolette’s hometown Cooley Ridge, North Carolina. In the beginning of the story, Nicolette’s gets a very vague letter from her father, saying he saw “that girl”, this letter alone is enough to make her drive from Philadelphia all the way to her father in North Carolina, but she also has to get him to sign legal paperwork and sell his house. The main problem in the book is when a girl goes missing, Annaleise Carter, 10 years after Nicolette’s best friend, Corinne Prescott, had the same thing happen to her, Nicolette has to figure out what d the night Corinne went missing. The solution is as everyone is searching for Annaleise, Nicolette's father and brother try to keep their secrets safe, Nicolette finds out what really happened the night Corinne went missing. Corinne walked out in the street, Nicolette ran her over, and her father, Patrick, covered her dead body with cement in the unfinished garage. At the end of the story after Annaleise Carter’s body is found and the investigation is over, Nicolette, her high school boyfriend, and her father all live together and the real story of what happened to Corinne, well that’s their secret.

Deej Logan was just like any normal high school girl. She woke up on her first day of school and combed her hair, picked out the “perfect” outfit and headed out the door. What she didn’t know is that after that day nothing would be the same. Nothing that day seemed to be going right. At school drama was swarming all around her, not exactly what she hoped the first day would be like. By the time the last bell of the day rang she was more than happy to get out of that school. She drove home as quickly as she could but as soon as she got home she realized that she had forgotten to pick up her sisters. “Great.” She thought sarcastically as she sat back down in her car and drove off. Just then she pulled out her phone to message one of her friends about her awful day. That one decision changed everything. Before she had a chance to send the message Deej veered off into oncoming traffic and was killed on impact.

Brief Plot Summary: Lily Melissa Owens, a fourteen-year-old white girl, lives on a peach farm with her father, T. Ray, who is both neglectful and abusive. Lily has a guilty secret, She believes she shot and killed her mother, Deborah, when she was younger, because of a pesky memory of what she thinks was the day she killed her mother. Lily has a housekeeper named Rosaleen, who has cared for Lily for years. When Rosaleen watches President Johnson sign the Civil Rights Act on television, she decides she will register to vote. On the way to register they run into some trouble that winds Rosaleen in jail. When T. Ray comes to pick Lily up from the police station, he is angry, and yells at her for such stupid behavior. Once home, Lily stands up to her father during an argument, and T. Ray hurts her by saying that ten years ago her mother was only coming back to get her clothes, and that she had planned to abandon Lily. But Lily isn 't sure if she believes her father, and she plans to escape, leaving behind her abusive father and finding a way to free Rosaleen.

Wildwood is a story written by a writer named Junot Diaz. This story mainly focuses about a young girl called Lola. Lola lives in New Jersey with her single mother, and her brother called Oscar until she moves to her grandmother’s place. This little girl has a miserable relationship with her mother. Three things are important to Lola’s life: being responsible, being independent, and showing love to her grandmother.

Ever since the age of three, Claireece Precious Jones suffered from sexual abuse from her father. First the gash on her neck and now I find out her parents are dead. I started to wonder if she was crazy, how could they be dead and she just wanted to run away? Something had to be wrong, this could not be happening.

When I opened this novel, I didn’t expect to get so sucked into the story that I stayed up way past what was appropriate considering my approaching early morning road trip - but that is the power that Barnes holds over me, and she has since Raised By Wolves. Tess and her sister have had a complicated relationship since her sister stopped contacting her years ago. But now, she’s back, and dragging Tess along to live with her in her DC house. Soon, Tess learns from her classmates that her sister is considered a “fixer”- she fixes things like permanent records, arrests, and other bad situations using her pleathera of contacts and secrets to get things going.
