What is the mission of Namaste Solar? Namaste Solar started mission was "to propagate the responsible use of solar energy, pioneer conscientious business practices and create holistic wealth for our community." According to the company's brochure, holistic wealth was wealth that "benefits all stakeholders equally - customers, employees, investors, communities and the environment - as opposed to inequitably benefiting any stakeholders at the expense of any others". Why or why not? Namaste's business strategy is shaped by conscientious business practices. They wanted to build a business where risk and reward were shared. Through the hiring and selection process, Namaste Solar was able to obtain a highly educated and empowered work force that is committed to the long-term success of the organization. These ideals are reinforced through the use of employee ownership incentives and equitable/democratic operations. Namaste Solar has experienced a great deal of success by employing a decentralized approach to decision making. By empowering their employees to make decision on key operational functions, they have been able to streamline their decision-making/reaction process. As the firm continues to grow, they will have to review and amended their business model on a continual basis to insure that being overly democratic does not encumber future execution. Namaste had great values for their company culture. They were dedicated to creating and collaborating equitable culture by open-book management, democratic decision-making, and a meritocratic system where the employees assumed responsibility based on demonstrated knowledge. They were driven to create a work place that well balanced, continuously learn, laugh, have fun and love what they do.
