Today our society isn't perfect, but we aren't talking about the 21st century. Our story takes place over 3,000 years in the past. The year was 308 A.D. there was an evil emperor his name was Kutrute, he had a daughter who was just as barbaric as he was. Their kingdom was small in Egypt, as they lived high and mighty with all the food and riches their hearts desired, their subjects lived poor, cold, hungry and in ruins. There is a rebellion being planned, the rebellion is being lead by a 16 year old girl name Katie. The Rebellion Begins Katie was wise for her age, but that's because she had to grow up so quickly. Katie was 16, 5’9, sandy brown hair and eyes, and skinny. Katie was so tough because when she was 6 years old her parents were …show more content…
Just as Katie began to win this gruesome sword fight the Emperor used an ancient sword technique that blindsided Katie, with the sword up to her neck the Emperor said, “Stupid little girl you thought you had a chance against me. Aren't you going to beg for your life?”, with an evil smile on his face he laughed. Katie looked at him in the most malevolent way and said, “Beg to you, I would never.”, then let out a spit of blood upon the Emperor's face. Just as the Emperor was going to slice her head clean off Katie closed her eyes. The Emperor let out a loud roar then suddenly it was silent, when Katie opened her M eyes again the Emperor was standing with his head leaned back as if someone was holding it. Someone was, Jacob had came to help Katie in the fight. The Emperor dropped his sword and then down to his knees, he said, “ What are you going to do now, kill me?” Katie smiled and wiped the blood from her chin and said, “ No, but I shall lock you up in the dungeon with the monsters and prisoners you put down there.” The Emperor’s face had turned pale as Jacob and some others cuffed and dragged Kutrute away he yelled, “ I shall be back, ONE DAY YOU WILL FALL!”. Kutrute’s daughter was nowhere to be found, Katie sent troops to look for her but they never found her. Kutrute was gone and the rebellion had been successful, there were a total of 25 casualties out of the 400 of Katie's recruits. …show more content…
Katie had seeds, seeds that would never dry out, grew the sweetest fruit, the tastiest vegetables, and the most powerful herbs. Before Katie's parents were murdered they were gardeners, gardening the best crops in town with there magic seeds, when Katie was little she'd help. Then, one day a powerful sandstorm came and wiped out all the families crops, and the river of De Nile was controlled by Kutrute and his men from that point on. So if families didn't have 100 coins of gold to give to the emperor’s soldiers then the people they would not be having water for gardening, only the few cups required to drink, unless you traveled thousands of miles downstream to another village to collect some water from them. Katie still loved gardening and still had a lot seeds from before, so she gave them a garden that ran for a whole mile. She got workers to tend to the garden and allowed children to play in the garden. Xander said he was a good gardener as well, he and Katie went to the garden together everyday at noon, at first it was all about the garden and nothing more but as the friendship grew stronger the conversations became deeper and their chemistry became more obvious to each other. Katie was starting to think she understood what love was, she began to

“Shoot for the moon even if you miss you’ll land among the stars,” quote by Les Brown. Caroline Curry did not technically shoot for the moon, but for the soccer goal instead. Making the decision to play soccer was one she did not regret. I guess you could say it landed on the moon. It may not seem like a big deal to take up a new sport, but joining soccer was vital to shaping her as a person.
Ella stood in the doorway of the locker room deciding if she was going to go along with the plan or if she was going to do the right thing.
Mary Rowlandson was captured from her home in Lancaster, Massachusetts by Wampanoag Indians during King Phillip’s War. She was held captive for several months. Mary Rowlandson has a varying view of her Indian captors because she experienced their culture and realized it was not that different from Puritan culture.
The vacuum cleaner roared, overpowering Eleanore Farrell’s confusing thoughts. Shaped like a silver bullet, heavy to maneuver, and loud enough to drown out the roar of a 747, Ellie figured it was built around the time of the first rocket launch. It certainly looked like something from outer space. Every week as she cleaned the house she and her grandmother had shared, Ellie had tried to convince her to replace the monstrosity. But her grandmother’s words echoed in her mind, “If isn’t broke, why replace it.”

I have had many great mentors that have stood out in my life thus far, but I have one lady that really stands out. Her name is Tina; I know her better as Ms. Hicks. She is a kindergarten teacher and Glee Club director at the middle school I attended. I came to know her really well when I joined the Glee Club my sixth grade year. She is so selfless and always puts others before herself. I just began watching her one day and realized that I wanted to be just like her. I began to volunteer in her classroom the last period of the day because I want to be an elementary school teacher as well. I decided why not learn form the best. Throughout the year, I learned so much from her. She taught me that students can learn and have fun while they
Imagine a country that needed help, and you had the chance to help people, help kids and families in a very poor country that had barely anything. Since the day he slapped her, he began to be more violent and abusive. She set him as her only priority. She quit the cheerleading team and was becoming secluded from the world. All she could think about was making sure she met his needs. School became a blur, she constantly wore long sleeves to cover up the scars he made, never engaged in anything, and always kept quite. She rarely talked to her parents because she knew they were consumed with finding Cass. Rina would always ask what's wrong her and Caitlin always said she was fine, even though she knew it was biggest lie she told. Through all of this, she continued to talk to Corrina, who was the only person that seemed to care about her. Soon, they grew closer and began a bond that would
In the novel The Diary of a Young Girl written by Anne Frank, Anne was a jewish girl living in the age of World War Two. I, Makena Brown, was thinking about what to write in my fifth grade classroom, as I watched my teacher, Mrs. McGovern, discuss ideas for memoirs with fellow peers. After giving the familiar classroom a good look, I finally processed that there was only one month left at my beloved elementary school, Booth Hill. As I thought about my previous years at this Trumbull Connecticut school, I was shocked by how fast the years went by, and by the drastic changes regarding the school, students, and teachers.
The narrative written by Judith Ortiz Cofer discusses some of the many experiences she has encountered throughout her life dealing with stereotypes and common misconceptions of Latin American women. To further engage her audience in the story, she provides detailed past experiences that have stood out to her the most. In order for the readers to fully understand those past encounters, some of which are cultural and common among Latinos, Cofer explains them in careful detail. For example, Cofer explains the concept of piropos which are poems composed on the spot by men to women as a form of admiration. This helps her introduce the audience to her own experiences with piropos and how she has dealt with them throughout her life. One of the
