Discovery Essay

Hour 4
Is he conscious? The thing is, it wasn't easy to remember. Trying to recall the details of his accident were tough. One minute everything is fine. We were happy and safe sitting by the still burning coals in the fire ring that we had just left.hours before. We both knew it was too early to go but we did anyway. Making the decision to meet at our spot in the woods was a bad decision. Everything went south from there. Twice a year my family and friends of the family meet on some privately owned land with our campers and spend the weekend. I was over exited because I was going to see one of my best friend Chase whom I haven't seen all winter. We have matching red four-wheelers. We were both completely unpacked

He flew off of his four-wheeler and hit mine. He laid on the ground and didn't move. The plastic on mine was shattered and wast drive able. I checked to see if the other boys were okay, I tried not to move Chase. I jumped off and got on Chase's four-wheeler because it had the least damage and went to find an adult. When I got back to camp I found Beau's dad Jason sitting my the fire and calmly told him there was an accident and the boys were fine but Chase isn't moving. He got Chase's mom who brought the ranger to come get him. When we got back to the scene it was just as I left it, Beau and Lannie still on their four-wheelers and Chase still laying on the ground. His helmet had flown off and landed 20 feet away. He was conscious (thank God). I helped his mom get him up and talking. Once in the ranger we brought him back to camp. He said his head and ribs hurt really bad. His mom brought him to the ER in the nearest town. Before he left I couldn't believe the sight of him. He was covered in blood, his clothes were ripped, and he couldn't move his arm. After the ER his mom too him to his dads house to spent the night. He had 2 broken vertebrate, shattered his arm, and had a concussion. Chase said he wanted to come back to camp the next day to see his friends for the last time. He couldn't leave his lawn chair but I still sat by him all day. He ended up having to wear a cast on his arm and a metal reenforced vest most of the summer to help his vertebrate heal.
The “Doctrine of Discovery” was a concept used to further colonization and strip land from the indigenous people. According to Class 7 Lecture, it allowed colonial powers to colonize the land that they discovered even if indigenous people already lived there. The doctrine provides “title to the nation making the discovery” of the land even if the soil is inhabited by natives. Provided the land excluded “European sovereign”. When European powers establish rule in what is now the United States the government was given the ownership of the lands until they felt the need use of the land. The Indians currently residing in the lands were just inhabitants. The doctrine set for by Chief Justice Marshall was set forth to mimic colonial powers and prevent further European expansion on U.S. soils. Following the Johnson v McIntosh case, it established a preventive measure of Indians and Indian tribes from selling the land to anyone but the United States government. This was to prevent European colonies to develop in the United States.
On the second night of our stay at A.j Ranch we went to the rodeo. A.j Ranch has a lot of property, we had to ride a wagon from our cabin in the woods to the ranch where the rodeo was being held.
“Today’s living feels like a struggle to survive”,” Money is always a big issue”,” I can’t study if I don’t have the money for it”. That was my way of thinking recently, but a month before this course commenced I started to think differently. I said to myself, “I need to look for more information on how to be able to pay for my studies”, “Student Loans might provide me with the money I need to start studying again”, “I’m going to apply for the President’s Scholarship, writing a 2 page essay explaining why I deserve that scholarship”. My new way of thinking about money brought me my most recent identity as a student in the International Academy of Design and Technology. Then I got my books, including Becoming a Master Student which made me realize even more the power of “Positive Thinking”. Now I know that money may be a primordial need but not an obstacle, that there are resources that can help me achieve my goals. Now I’m confident that by planning ahead and adding additional control to my personal finances I will be able to have enough money to complete my education.
I’m surprised he made it out of there in one piece. I’m sorry your son he will never be able to walk again, his legs were crushed in the crash there was nothing we could do, he is lucky to be alive this will be heavy on such a young boy I wish you all the best.
During the Scientific Revolution scientists such as Galileo, Copernicus, Descartes and Bacon wrestled with questions about God, human aptitude, and the possibilities of understanding the world. Eventually, the implications of the new scientific findings began to affect the way people thought and behaved throughout Europe. Society began to question the authority of traditional knowledge about the universe. This in turn, allowed them to question traditional views of the state and social order. No longer was the world constructed as the somewhat simple Ptolemaic Model suggested. The Earth for the first time became explicable and was no longer the center of the universe. Many beliefs that had been held for hundreds of years now proved to be
During the 15th and 16th century, countries such as Portugal set out to find out more about the world in an era called the “Age of Exploration.” The explorers set out on voyages mainly to find sea trade routes to Asia. Vasco da Gama, Christopher Columbus, and Ferdinand Magellan were the explorers that made the most important breakthroughs. They used different boats, tools, and maps to help them explore.
Discovery inhibits the ability to embrace new beginnings and accept a sense of change whether it is found or forced upon an individual. The places you travel and the people you meet can emotionally revolutionize a self-discovery through unexpected but anticipated terms evoked from curiosity. ‘Swallow The Air’ written by Tara June Winch and ‘The Thing Around Your Neck’ written by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie break the inhibitions of vulnerability, as their ideas represented through cultural contexts and values, lead to an overall self-discovery.
He seemed very restless and started weeping while repeating names of those that were with him. He kept talking about the incident going back and forth in Spanish and English. He became pale, diaphoretic, and started gasping for air. All of a sudden his blood pressure plummets, heart rate begins to slow, within seconds 90 to 60 to 30 then flat line. The nurse yells “Call code blue”, I ran for the crash cart, monitors attached. I was told to rotate in compressions, within seconds the code team arrived and took over as I stepped back. I remember the adrenaline rush, my heart beating so hard, the dry mouth, while
The Age of Exploration was a time period that has had significant influences in the modern world. It was the moment in which Europe was brought out of the Dark Ages and into an era of discovery. The risks taken within the 15th and 18th century allowed both positive and negative outcomes to be introduced to the European Exploration. There were many motives for this era, and many outcomes came about. However, they were both negative and positive. To summarize the motives of this age, a simple combination can be stated. The main purposes of the Age of Exploration was God, Gold, and Glory.
This weekend I, personally did not have much planned. The only activity I attended was a seven-hour dance tryout for the Foley Falconettes Dance Team. At the dance tryout, all the people were made to do learn a dance, jumps and leaps, the splits, and stretch plenty therefore people wouldn’t hurt themselves. I needed to attend this to figure out what team I will be attending this for the winter. After my seven-hour dance tryouts, my family held a campfire. I could sit under the stars and listen to the campfire crackle.
I got him up and took my sweatshirt off and wrapped his head up to help the bleeding not get worse. As we walked back to camp the animal ran right in front of us has we walked out of the trees. As it saw us it stopped.
When the EMT and police arrived, they put him in the back of the police car and took him away. In my very unrealistic and hopeful mind they would take him to a treatment center, but I am sure that wasn’t the case and he would be back at it the next day.
The Age of Exploration was a time of struggle and wealth for many European countries. The pursuit of a trade route to the Far East led many countries across the ocean, looking for the great spice cities that were rumored by Marco Polo. These countries knew that whoever found the shortest or best route would become rich, very quickly. Explorers from many European countries embarked on journeys that not even they had any clue where they were going. This search for the Far East led to many discoveries that would otherwise have never been found.
The testimonies written in both early exploration narratives and seventeenth century Puritan texts described how a particular explorer viewed the new land of America. Each of these writings had their own deception about the significance of America, both as a physical place and also as an ideal. Christopher Columbus wrote several exploration narratives during his journeys to and from the new land. He offered his own personal definitions and arguments about what he saw and thought about his new discoveries. In the text "Letter to Luis de Santangel", Columbus writes about his crowning achievement, the discovery of new world. I believe that this text helps convey a specific definition of America. Columbus portrayed America as being
Humanity’s interest in unknown world has been universal and enduring. Accompany with human development, discovery the unknown world has become more and more important to human life. Some people think discovery is a good thing. They will tell you how X-ray used by medical professionals to help diagnose and treat a wide range of medical problems. They will also tell you what a mass your life will be if Benjamin Franklin did not discovered electricity. But other argue people think discovery bring disaster to human. They will tell you if Martin Heinrich Klaproth did not discover uranium, maybe atomic bomb would not been invented. Although the question about whether discovery always a good thing has so many
