I is for In South Carolina. Last summer me and my family went on vacation to myrtle South Carolina. It was a lot of fun we for to see the ocean for the second time. It took us 19 hours to get there. We stopped at some cool places on the way there. One place we stopped at was a cave it was a 2 mile walk for there through the cave and back. Once we got to Myrtle beach we took some of our stuff Into the hotel. Then my mom, brother, dad and got our passes to go out on the pier. We first went out onto the pier and then we went down to the ocean. We spent all day there and then we ate at the restaurant on the pier entrance. The next day we went to the boardwalk the boardwalk is a bunch of stores lined up against a sidewalk. After we walked the
Though I spent my entire life living in North Carolina I never thought of myself as a Southerner. My understanding of the Southern lifestyle was quite limited; there is an emphasis on family solidarity, and self-sufficiency with an agricultural backdrop that is part of their essence. The South is not simply a location, manners or customs it is a way of life. Hearing the childhood details of a favorite professor allowed me to envision a picture perfect life under the shade of a magnolia tree and little southern girl who grew up to be a Sandhills Community College professor, Mrs. Cole.
When i went Destin, Florida. I went to Florida this summer after school was out . We went with my sisters best friend, and my best friend’s family. We drove from Arkansas all the way to Destin, Florida. The day we got there we went straight to the beach! It was the first time I had ever seen the ocean! The following day we decided to go down to the smoothie shack and get a smoothie then swim in the pool. The grown ups went to the beach while we were at the pool.
Once we got to San Antonio we got lost for about 15 minutes because of a road contruction. It was fun with my girls we were singing, talking about there school and we saw diffrent park attractions and all kinds of other places. Finally at around 11:30 a.m we got to Harlingen, Texas at my sisters house safe and sound. But that didn't stop us , once we got there we just picked up my sister and my nephew and we headed to the beach of South Padre Island. We were almost there because you can start to smell the fresh salt water and see the big 2 mile stretch of the bridge. Once we arrived we parked right by the water on the sand. My girls just got off my car and started running towards the waves of water. Me and my sister watched while my nephew and my girls were splashing in the water. We really enjoyed that day. We had a barbeque and played volley ball, relaxed on top of a float in the
So my first two weeks at Florida Southern have been exhausting to say the least. One does not really know how flipped their sleep schedule is until they have to wake up early to drive to 8 am classes every other day. The bright side to these days, however, is that I end up making it home by about 11:00 am, where, beforehand, I might have even woken up at this time. I honestly don’t know what I expected from college, but I knew that the college that I planned on attending had a very beautiful campus. Living in the area, you always hear people talking about how world class architecture is located within the city. Florida Southern, along with Publix, and the location between Orlando and Tampa were the reasons everybody talked about
On the summer of 2013 my family and I went on a trip to kentucky lasting for three days and two nights. We went on a houseboat on top of lake cumberland. I went with my grandparents my mom and dad and my aunt and uncle.
It was a beautiful sunny day and my family and I were driving on the expressway. We were in my Dad’s blue truck with the fifth wheel behind us. We had the windows down in the amazing 80 degree weather. We were around our exit, Myrtle Beach! I was so excited for the trip and couldn’t wait to put my foot in the blue, cold, salt water. After the like 15 hour drive we had just suffered through I was expecting a pretty great trip.
The family stops to eat at The Tower for sandwiches. Grandmother enjoy a conversation with Red Sammy, discussing how it’s hard to find a good man, the old days and The Misfit. She received more conversation with him than she had most of the trip to Florida so far.
It was the day we were leaving for Florida for a U16 soccer tournament in West Palm Beach, July 2nd to be precise. A drive to Florida from where we live takes around 18 hours. We finished supper at 5:30, completed packing, and were on the road at 6:30. We were traveling south on Interstate 83. Nothing much to see as we were driving down the highway. A few trees here and there, and a wide variety of fields that were thriving with crops.
December 28th I traveled from Hudson to Acton hopped on a train from the South Action rail road station, traveled on this train 47 minutes to the TD garden, ate pizza at a quaint incredibly noisy, overcrowded Italian pizza joint 75 feet from the Garden then for the first time in my life
The first thing I did this summer was my family and I went to Myrtle beach South Carolina. The first thing we did there were we went to this restaurant called River Side. Next we had to wait for my aunt to get there so we can get our apartment. Once my cousins and aunt got there we got our room key so we got into our apartment. Then we went to unpack all the cars and decided what room each person someone would sleep in. After that we went to eat lunch and we almost got lost. The next night we went to a boardwalk right by the hotel. And then on Wednesday we went back with our cousins this time and found a store called the stupid factory. It had funny shirts in there and stuffed animals. On Thursday it was 100 degrees,
It was five in the morning, and the day was opening up for a good time in Oxford, that would also bring a trip to Florida, the birds were tweeting, the sky was blue, and the animals were all awake and ready for the day! I get dressed and ready, and go downstairs for breakfast. When I reach the kitchen, I look in the cupboards for something to eat. Then when i found what I wanted, i ate it. I was extremely happy and I felt that everything was going perfectly.
Sight and hearing are just two of our five senses. Losing only one of them would be awful. How would you react if you were told that you had three days left to see and hear? The problem is that nobody truly appreciates what they have until it’s gone. “Sometimes the best way to appreciate something is to be without it for a while,” -Unknown.
We have now begun on our journey to South Carolina. I can’t wait to arrive, though I am worried about the travel there. When we first set out, father spoke with James, Elizabeth, and I. He finally thought it was time to tell us about Lexington and Concord, I don’t think he knows I know so much about it already. Though he told us some things I was not aware of. He said that, even though the colonists lost so many men they still considered the battle a victory. This confused and surprised me, they thought this because they took a stand and upset King George the third. And turns out that these two battles had started a revolutionary war! So the colonist are currently fighting for there freedom from the British. I hope the colonists win this war,
Have you ever been on a vacation? To me a vacation is a time to be with friends or family. When I think of vacations, I think of packing, the flight or drive, and relaxation. Not only is it very exciting to go on a vacation, but you get closer to the people that go with you.
It was the Summer of 2015 and finally school had ended.Almost every summer my family goes to visit my mom’s side of the family they live in Florida. We usually drive there but this year not all of my family were going at the same time so my siblings were to go on plane. As many know Florida is very humid and the scenery was full of palm trees.I was 15 when my siblings and I were going by plane to Florida. The last time I was on a plane was when I was a baby and my parents were with me I hadn’t been on a plane for years and I had a fear of being on a plane.
