Whether you believe learning styles are a myth or fact they still can help you learn the material for class. Just because you take this test online and it says that you are one hundred percent auditory learner doesn’t mean you can’t learn other ways. I learn best by actually finding something interesting or fun to learn about. I do not really learn by writing things down because sometimes you write something down and it is way more different than the real subject. Listening does not not help me learn also because I daydream a lot and then I do not pay attention to what is being read. Looking at pictures does a bit of the job because it helps you see things and then you will memorize them. Looking at pictures is a better way for me to learn because it is more easier to just see the pictures memorize them and then just go along with the next things. Writing things also helps me learn a bit more by just having at least relocatable notes that will help you with something later on. Sometimes I work fast and slow in my classes, it sometimes depends on how I am feeling because if I am feeling down then I do not feel like doing no work at all and if I am feeling energetic or happy i do my work and i do it very well.

From doing the Learning Style Inventory, I learned that I learn better when I write things down and when I have a visual of the information I am learning. For my writing style way of learning, I found I should take notes. When the professors give us notes I should write them in my hand writing. I just need to be able to read my notes because I write so fast some times.

As a teacher it is also important to know the learning styles of your students so that they can able to understand what you are trying to teach them. What Is Your Learning Style? The way that an individual learns can shape their entire life. I personally struggle when it comes to learning topics within math and sciences. After reading about the different learning styles I understand better as to why that is. It is common sense that everyone is different, so it makes sense that we all learn differently. There are eight learning styles that were outlined and discussed in the textbook. While reading and researching about them I was able to easily put each of the learning styles into three categories: (1) I have those characteristics, (2) I have some of those characteristics, and (3) I am definitely not that. I will discuss more in-depth the styles I feel I do possess which is, interpersonal, verbal, and intrapersonal.
Now that I know I am a visual learner, I can be a better student. I can do better in school, because I know how I should do things. To start, I need to utilize flashcards, which I already do. Using flashcards helps me visualize what I need to know and helps me understand it. Additionally, advice from the learning styles assessment would be to write down ideas, key words, and directions so I can see it visually. Visually seeing these will help me understand it. Furthermore, I can study in quiet places so I don't get distracted because I need to stay focused. Staying focused helps me have higher quality work. Since I am a visual learner, I can do things that help me. All in all, with all of these things, I can become a better learner.
