I am the health mental health worker and I have a dilemma. To figure out the right course of action I looked at two standards in the NASW Code of Ethics. The two standards I chose are 1.01, which is in the best interest of the client, and 1.07 c, which is; keep information told to me in the file since it is confidential. Standard 1.01 is linked to the context because if I follow this standard I will be helping the client because he can be reunited with his son. 1.07c is linked to this dilemma because what is told to me in confidence needs to stay confidential. The action to follow 1.01 tells the child protection worker because it is in the best interest of the client. For standard 1.07c the action to follow would be that I cannot tell because
The NASW Code of Ethics is the guideline for social workers in regards to professional conduct and practice. The Code of Ethics is divided into four parts: “The Preamble,” “Purpose of the NASW Code of Ethics,” “Ethical Principles,” and “Ethical Standards.” These sections educate social workers on what their mission is, and how they complete that mission with true morality. Within the Code, there are six values presented which are also used in regards to helping and practicing with clients honorably. These six values are: service, social justice, dignity and worth, importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. These six values are the principles that drive social work practice, and are used by social workers everyday.
The NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct was developed to uphold the application of core values, ideals, and principles to assist teachers’ decision-making about ethical issues. The Core Values of the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct is based on the foundation of the field's commitment to young children. It is noteworthy that all seven of the Code's Core Values directly address our commitment to children:

The NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment is a guideline designed to help Early Childhood educators and other professionals who work in infant/toddler programs, preschools, child care centers, family child care homes, kindergarten, and primary classrooms in issues that involve young children and their families.
In the field of nursing, the ANA Code of Ethics is designed to provide specific bylaws that will influence the practices of health care professionals inside the industry. However, there are different advocacy campaigns that will have an impact on how it is interpreted and applied. In the case of advocacy for population health, these issues mean that there could be moral dilemmas faced in the process (most notably: lifestyle choices and their impact on the individual). The main points of provision five of the ANA code of ethics are as follows: section 5.1, which is moral self-respect, suggests that nurses must care for themselves as much as they care for their patients. Nurses must do their best to maintain professional respect to themselves in regards of their competence and moral character. Section 5.2, which is professional growth and maintenance of competence, suggests that nurses must continue to self and peer evaluate themselves throughout their careers. Nurses must continue to learn current, up to date nursing practices through self, peer, and higher education. Classical organizational theories: As a group, we do not feel that the classical organizational theory complies with the six core values of the NASW code of ethics. We did not feel that the classical organization theory provided any help, support, or benefits to help the members reach their maximum potentials, other than those who are already at the top. We also felt that this theory did not provide equal rights, protection, or social benefits as a part of the social justice perspective of the core values. Where the power and resources rest at the top of the agencies who utilize this theory, we feel that those at the bottom are not held in high esteem, valued, or appreciated. An example of when I have violated someone’s confidentiality is when I told my sisters something that had happened to a good friend of mines. I assumed that my friend wouldn’t mind me telling my sisters, since they all know each other. My friend was in a situation where my roommates and I had to take her to the hospital. Even though I went to the hospital with her, and was by her side the whole entire time, looking back I should have not told my sisters about it. My friend was embarrassed about the situation, and did not talk about it until weeks later, and that should have been the first sign for me, that she was not comfortable with people knowing.
After reading the ANA code of ethics there are various aspects that can relate back to nursing informatics. However, the main sections I would like to discuss would be; provisions two, three, seven, eight and nine.
Moreover, this case should be analyzed based on the information provided by the NASW Code of Ethics. The ethical principle included in the NASW Code of Ethics (2008) states that “social worker’s primary goal is to help people in need and to address social problems…Social workers seek to resolve conflicts between clients’ interests and the broader society’s interests in a socially responsible manner” (p.5). Suzanne’s social worker would only have to seek for Suzanne’s well-being because if Suzanne and Cindy get separated, they can lose contact, which would affect Suzanne 's emotions.

Social worker professions are guided by the professional body of Australia Association of Social Work code of ethics and practice standards (AASW, 2010). Thus, social workers should first have an understanding of their ethical code for practice when entering into a organisation. As the AASW (2010) states “social worker will uphold the ethical values and responsibilities of this code, even though employers’ policies or official may not be compatible with its provisions (AASW, 2010, p.33). There are nine provisions included in the ANA code of ethics. The provisions can be broken into three categories. The first category is the nurse’s ethical responsibilities to her patient which is provisions one through three. Second is the nurse’s obligation to herself, provisions four through six. The third ethical requirement for nurses is related to their relationship to the nursing profession, community, nation, and world overall. This focus is summarized in provisions seven through nine [ (American Nurses Association, 2013) ].
Ethics also plays a huge part in making a decision that yields a more positive outcome. Ethical Codes provides a framework and guidance for maintaining obligations to different stakeholders (Follari, 81).NAEYC and NEA both created a code of ethics. The national education association (NEA) code of ethics has two main principles: commitment to the student and commitment to the profession. NAEYC also developed a code of ethics with the intent to “give practitioners a research-based framework for making sound decisions in their work, especially when faced with ethical dilemmas” (Follari , 72). NAEYC code set a framework of professional responsibilities in four sections that address professional relationships that include: children, families, colleagues, and community and society; and in which each section is divided into ideal and principles.
