The National Forensic League had many great speeches for both humorous and duo interpretations presented in 2008. Some of those speeches were better than others, and my job is to rate them from best to worst and explain why. I will be looking at the following: quality and use of voice, physical expression, eye contact, and the ability to interpret characters correctly and consistently. The best humorous interpretation speech was “The Witches”. This speech had numerous qualities that were better than any other speech. My rankings for these speeches were as follows: first “The Witches,” two “Scary Godmother,” three “Charlie the Caterpillar,” and four “Controlling Interest.” While “Controlling Interest” was a good speech, I choose ranked it last …show more content…
The speakers had great voices to go with the characters as well as gestures to add humor to each role (like Anna’s best friend brushing her hair). Their voice was clear and easy to understand as well, which made this speech the top presented one. The second best speech was “Charlotte’s Web”. The beginning of the speech started with a lack of eye contact with the audience. “Charlotte’s Web” was visually creative through both speakers being completely in-sync with sophisticated gestures. Through the use of vocal variety and gestures, the speech became one of the best presented. The third best speech was “The Wizard of Hip”. The rate of speaking was good, but the how much each speaker talked seemed unbalanced. Facial expressions helped add humor to the speech but there were minor things that could have been fixed (like eye contact). I ranked “Same Difference” last because of a couple reasons. While the dance moves and singing was good, they speakers stumble on a couple words and the speaking can be hard to hear at times when they start raising their voices. The speech also involved quite a bit of singing which lost my attention quickly, but the speech was overall very relatable to a large audience. Although these speeches were all had a couple things that could be worked on, they were highly entertaining and were clearly
To record a crime scene, forensic scientist can use photography, drawings, and videography. Photographs are an important record of the unaltered crime scene, Drawings or sketches provides valuable information when a photograph cannot accurately depict the scale of a room or the relationship of items to each
Overall, I thought Queen Gorgo’s speech was quite compelling. She does not come to the council with statistics and war tactics to convince them as any war general would have. She appeals to their pride and their emotions, knowing that these men need something stronger than fact to convince them. The way she gives her speech, as well, has such a strong effect. Queen Gorgo talks slowly, with many pauses, and makes eye contact with the men around the room. She does this not because she thinks they won’t understand what she’s saying, but because she wants them to dwell on her every word and really take in what it is she’s saying. Her eye contact makes this more powerful, showing the council that she isn’t afraid

Defense counsel has asked this Court to compel the government to disclose the Forensic Peer Review dated August 5, 2014, from the government’s digital evidence file. Defense counsel asserts that the requested document is discoverable under Brady because the document will provide impeachment evidence of the test results obtained by Digital evidence examiner, Gregory Norman (“Norman”) using the Lantern v4 tool. To support its’ contention, defense counsel notes that there is no distinction between exculpatory and impeachment evidence for purposes of Brady disclosure requirements. See Bagley, 473 U.S. 667; Kyles, 514 U.S. at 433 (citing there is no “difference between exculpatory and impeachment evidence” when it comes to the prosecutor's duty

Forensic anthropology is a subfield of physical anthropology that aims to assist in the identification of human remains and to help determine what happened to the remains (Ubelaker, 2006). A forensic anthropologist is able to aid law enforcement by narrowing down the list of possible victims. This subfield of anthropology consists of several processes and a vast list of duties that are important in providing positive identification.Even though forensic anthropology dates back many years, major advancements in this field are still being made today.
Reporter stated the following: I did a forensic interview with him (Jeffery) on today. He did not say when these incidents happened. He witnessed 15 year old boy (Corey) make a 16 year old girl (Arrianna Unknown) "touch down there and put her head down there with her mouth". This morning he witnessed Lane touch Amaria on her breasts on the top of her clothes. He said the staff knows about both incident but he did not say where they were. Ms. Anthony knows about it too. They call Ms. Anthony Ms. A. He said all of the kids get in fights. He said staff will try to break up the fights. He said his throat is still hurting because he was hit by an unknown child.
How must it be to live in a criminal mind? How must it be to completely loose the sense of normality? I heartily believe that Forensic Psychology holds the key which opens an entire world of psychopathologies, mental deformities, twisted thoughts and repressed needs of bestiality. Besides letting you sink into the most dangerous minds, it gives you the armament to combat everything hiding in there- knowledge.

Nearly anyone you ask would be familiar with the television show CSI. The crime lab is colorful and high-tech with all of the fun toys and machines that analysts use to test the ever abundant amount of forensic evidence from every crime scene. It makes for an exciting drama that you cannot help but get immersed in—it also gives us a false illusion, however, creating what has been dubbed as the “CSI effect” (Baskin, 2011). This effect describes the idea that crime shows such as CSI generate unreal expectations, making viewers believe that forensic evidence should be existent in all criminal trials, therefore affecting their overall perspective on a case (Baskin, 2011). But in reality, forensic labs are not that glamorous. In fact, the
Forensic Science has contributed to our world a great deal. People often misunderstand Forensic Science and believe it is much more capable than it really is. As a matter of fact what you see on T.V. is around 80% false or over exaggerated in some way. To Start of, Criminal Investigation is the largest and most known form of Forensic Science. Some of the more known areas include; Fingerprinting, Ballistics, DNA Identification, Fiber Samples, Computer Animation, Documentation analysis, etc. To get this out of the way in the beginning, what you saw on last night’s law and order is far from the truth. Things they do in a matter of hours take months at a time, and most of the time aren’t even plausible concepts.
Ewww! What could that awful smell be? Why it is the center of an anthropologist’s attention, of course! More specifically, it is the decaying remains of a human. Before we get too in depth though, let us start with the history. Thomas Dwight (1843-1911) is honored with the title of the Father of Forensic Anthropology in the United States. He was the first to write articles and essays on human skeletal identification. In addition, he also conducted lectures. He was dedicated to researching was to determine the physical characteristics and information of a person without using the bones from their arms or legs. He used bones in the skull to determine the victim's age at death, and the joints of longer bones to determine the gender. Since then, anthropology has grown to be so much more. Now anthropologists are able to discover a person’s height, diet, weight, age, and sex merely from deciphering their skeletal remains. This field allows scientists to not only identify victims, but it also aids in identifying if they were truly victims in the first
