National Honor Society Analysis

Being involved is important to me because I want to help people and make the most of my life. In life, I know that I will learn new ideas, meet new people, and be out of my comfort zone at times, and I love it; I love connecting with people and learning new information. I love being able to volunteering and see the impact that I can make. I enjoy being a part of something bigger than myself. Because of this, I believe that I would be a valuable asset to National Honor Society because I believe that I exhibit the four essential pillars necessary not only to succeed in life but also to become a member of this prestigious group.

After doing some research on the National Honor Society, I learned that one must demonstrate the qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, and service in order to be considered for membership into the National Honor Society. Therefore, by showing that I possess each of these four qualities, I can contribute to Ocoee High School as a member of the National Honor Society.

Out of the four characteristics of National Honor Society, I felt the most important is a character. It’s because it distinguishes how your behavior shows daily the way you carry yourself every day. Got to bat for your convictions about great and awful, be your best self, and oppose social weight to do the wrong thing for the right reason. Good characters show respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring, and citizenship in all their actions every day. “Reputation is the shadow. The character is the tree.” - Abraham Lincoln. The quote explains that character is something that does not change, something that stays with all you that which characterizes you. No other person can control it. Status labeled that other give you, so,

The National Honor Society recognizes students who attain a high level of accomplishment in the areas of academics, character, leadership, and service. In order to be considered for membership in the National Honor Society one must not only demonstrate each of these four qualities, but excel in each.

We all know that the National Honor Society is focused on the four main points of character, service, scholarship, and last but not least leadership. I am asking that you take consideration of these four points in my very own life.

Though my primary goal is to ameliorate my leadership skills, there are many reasons for my wanting to become a member of the National Honor Society. Not only would my membership appeal to colleges to whom I may be applying to, it would challenge me in such a way as to further develop valuable life skills, such as responsibility and character. Any collective efforts or activities made would allow me to build teamwork capabilities, hone project management aptitude, and make friends. My acceptance into the NHS would also guarantee future access to applications for the NHS Scholarship Program, which will financially aid me in entering the college of my choice.

The National Honor Society (NHS) is based off of four pillars: Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service. In order to be an ideal member of NHS, one must demonstrate these qualities efficiently at all times. How do I exhibit these four pillars? I do so by practicing each one on a daily basis and by improving them every single minute. My willpower, consideration of others, and goal of being the best all exemplify my ability to perform the four pillars. Each one is dealt with differently in my life.

National Honor Society is an exceptional organization that promotes and motivates accomplished, versatile students. In order to qualify for National Honor Society, I believe one must have the mindset of a leader accompanied by examples of a strong moral character to support it. I have been demonstrating these qualities as an ambitious students before I began high school. Throughout my entire educational career, I have always strived to be the absolute best I can be. This includes challenging myself by always taking the highest level classes that are offered and maintaining Honor Roll. Throughout my high school career I have demonstrated the four pillars that the National Honor Society is built upon: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Moreover, I often volunteer to do service in my community. I have been doing volunteer work for Walk for Hunger since from 2011. Also I participate many times in school food bank, which school donates food to families who need help. It was a wonderful experience because I was able to help out my community in a positive way. I like to be there for people who are in need because it shows people that I am a caring and loving them.

It is an honor to be chosen as a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society. Academics, leadership skills, service abilities, and character are four principal parts of a superior student. I believe that I am inclusive of all these aspects needed to become a part of this prestigious group. Becoming a member of this organization is important to me, because it will help me get into an excellent college and push me to work harder in school.

In addition to scholarship, National Honor Society emphasizes community service. I have a passion for service and have been involved in service projects through my church, Dance Team, FFA and 4H. As I reflect on all of the community service events I have assisted in, I have realized that each time I have helped others, I have grown as a person. I have learned to be appreciative of all of the opportunities that my situation has provided for me. Leadership is yet another quality that National Honor Society builds. I have worked on developing my leadership skills through my participation in 4H, church youth group, FFA, and dance. I would like to gain more leadership experience by helping to organize the activities that National Honor Society has throughout the year. A positive character is recognized and developed by National Honor Society. I strive to always maintain a good character. I am honored to be among the commendable students whom are being considered to be a part of such a prestigious organization, The National Honor Society. I have been wanting to be a part of this organization the second I stepped into this school. Of course I have worked vigorously for it, there has not been one year here at Lone Star where I have not been in less than 3 Pre-AP or AP classes with averages frequently resulting in an A. I work hard everyday and night in order to ensure my success now and in the future. National Honor Society is an exceptional group brimmed with bright young men and women who create the world of tomorrow. I, Jadzia Sanchez, Class of 2017, yearn to be a part of such a group. I have been a part of theatre in both middle school and high school, I am a very active thespian and have branched out by joining acting classes outside of school.

The values which the National Honor Society exudes and its members must stand for are leadership, scholarship, service and character. For these reasons, I know that I would be a valuable member of the National Honor Society, due to my scholastic expertise, my ability to both persevere against and to entertain, ideas which conflict with my own and my skill at entering and excelling in leadership positions.

The four pillars of National Honor Society (NHS) include scholarship, service, leadership, and character. I have already received this application opportunity due to meeting the requirements of the scholarship portion of NHS, which requires a strong commitment to learning and putting effort towards achieving high grades in the classroom. I intend to benefit the remaining three pillars of service, leadership, and character through my willingness to work for others free of reward, initiative to lead my peers, and optimal decision making.
