I am greatly honored to be among the elite group of students who have been considered to be chosen as members of the National Honor Society due to an exemplary demonstration of leadership, scholarship, service, and character. To be chosen, one must show that they have attained all of these qualities through their hard work in school, as well as in extracurricular activities, and are continuously striving to improve both their school and their community. I believe that I have exhibited all of the required characteristics that define both a scholar and a leader to my teachers, coaches, family, peers, church leaders, and members of my community. I demonstrate scholarship within my classes by always striving to do the best of my abilities. I …show more content…
I believe that leadership is largely a team effort rather than a one-person dictatorship. One area where I have displayed this form of leadership is on the soccer field. I have played the sport for four years now and have made lifelong connections with my fellow teammates through our intense sense of camaraderie. I know that I can depend on my teammates and they can depend on me during our games or just in the community in general because we have such a deep bond from working together to achieve a common goal. Another example of leadership is, whenever I am part of a group project, I ensure that everyone stays focused and on task and knows what exactly it is they are doing to contribute to the group. I am the one who helps others with any problems they may encounter and who checks behind everyone else’s work because I want to make sure that everything is done accordingly. My fellow classmates often come to me when they need extra help with their schoolwork or with understanding a new concept. I also demonstrate excellent academic initiative. I go out of my way to further research concepts mentioned in class when I get home so that I can have a full understanding of every topic. For example, while I was taking Spanish courses in school, I also downloaded a Spanish-learning app on my phone that I used when I got home to learn new concepts not …show more content…
I highly value integrity; I am honest, trustworthy, dependable, responsible, and faithful. I do not complain or argue with others, but rather I sit down and listen to their concerns. I am extremely polite and treat everyone I meet with the highest degree of courtesy and respect. I am a hard worker and I always put forth my best effort. I stay away from bad influences and choose my close friends carefully. I am a stickler for rules and have never once gotten into trouble at school or with the law. I treat others with the utmost respect because the Bible clearly states to “do to others as you would have them do unto you.” My morals and ethics are directly in line with the teachings of scripture, so I look down upon academic dishonesty, taking part in dangerous activities such as drugs and alcohol, and disrespecting others. I strongly believe in perseverance and never giving up, no matter how hopeless the situation may seem, and in never losing faith in your family, your friends, and, most importantly, God because you can always rely on them in the darkest of times to restore your
I wish to be apart of the National Junior Honors Society because I have always been a determined and hardworking person and being accepted would continue my journey of greatness. In all the activities I have participated in, I don’t ever do it for acknowledgement or respect from others. I do it for my enjoyment and success.
I am privileged to be one of the remarkable students qualified to join Eureka High School’s National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to applying to this organization as it provides influential help in our society. I would be privileged to join this distinguished association because it would provide me with opportunities to get involved in my community. As a hardworking, helpful, and friendly individual, I feel that I would make an auxiliary member to this organization. I demonstrate the qualities that are necessary to join this prestigious society, including leadership, character, scholarship, and service.
It is an honor to be chosen as a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society. Academics, leadership skills, service abilities, and character are four principal parts of a superior student. I believe that I am inclusive of all these aspects needed to become a part of this prestigious group. Becoming a member of this organization is important to me, because it will help me get into an excellent college and push me to work harder in school.
I am honored to be among the commendable students whom are being considered to be a part of such a prestigious organization, The National Honor Society. I have been wanting to be a part of this organization the second I stepped into this school. Of course I have worked vigorously for it, there has not been one year here at Lone Star where I have not been in less than 3 Pre-AP or AP classes with averages frequently resulting in an A. I work hard everyday and night in order to ensure my success now and in the future. National Honor Society is an exceptional group brimmed with bright young men and women who create the world of tomorrow. I, Jadzia Sanchez, Class of 2017, yearn to be a part of such a group. I have been a part of theatre in both middle school and high school, I am a very active thespian and have branched out by joining acting classes outside of school.
First, I believe I have great scholarship attributes because I have been able to maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher this whole year, while being in all honor classes and being in a 10th grade math class. During the first trimester, I was able to have straight A's and only one A- while the rest were A and one A+. I have good character because I respect all my peers and teachers. I also have not received a detention this year and very few white slips for arriving late to school. Lastly, I am very responsible and try to get all my work done days before it's due which is illustrated by not having a late or missing assignment. Finishing this assignment five days before the due date proves my commitment to my work. The final characteristic is citizenship. I believe I am a good citizen because I have had very few, if not any minor school infractions this year and no major school
I’m involved in many activities at school including orchestra, choir, show choir, and athletics. These all prove me to be hard working and committed to making myself the best person I can possibly be. In sixth grade I was involved in Klein Academic Competition for the writing portion, and this year I will be taking the Duke University ACT test for all subjects.
I am deeply honored to be among the exemplary students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. I must admit that this is something that I have been looking forward to since the beginning of my high school career. I believe that this organization does great things in society and that I can play a part in furthering the impression that is made. I like to think that I deserve this honor and this chance because I have worked very hard to get here.
National Honor Society is an exceptional organization that promotes and motivates accomplished, versatile students. In order to qualify for National Honor Society, I believe one must have the mindset of a leader accompanied by examples of a strong moral character to support it. I have been demonstrating these qualities as an ambitious students before I began high school. Throughout my entire educational career, I have always strived to be the absolute best I can be. This includes challenging myself by always taking the highest level classes that are offered and maintaining Honor Roll. Furthermore, I am a very goal oriented person and committed to achieving my dreams. For example, when I was in the 6th grade, I was introduced to the North
My academic accomplishments are a direct result of my dedication to school. I make sure to work hard and put in 100% effort into each assignment I get. I strive to find the perfect balance between challenging myself and retaining a maintainable level of course work. I am proud to say of my completed credits I have earned all A’s. Not only do I take pride in my grades, but I genuinely enjoy expanding my knowledge. Outside of class, I take it upon myself to learn new things in my spare time. I would love to broaden my devotion to school by helping other students achieve the same.
I am truly humbled and honored to be selected amongst the top students in my graduating class and I am excited to be given the opportunity to represent Gateway High School in our chapter of National Honor Society. I firmly believe that I posses traits that fulfill the pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Scholarship in my eyes is the ability to excel at high level educational studies. As a student, I strive for excellence in every way I can. I have taken a variety of AP and Honors classes during my time in high school, and I am proud to say that I have found myself on High Honor Roll on each report card I have received. I have been able to maintain a 3.85 GPA through two and a half years of school. Aside from school,
I believe that I would be a good representative for the National Junior Honor Society because I represent the five qualities of a member of the organization: scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. I have leadership skills from programs like Girl Scouts, softball, and Student Council. I’ve volunteered in many service projects including Christmas bags for foster children, playing piano at a hospice center, volunteering at a food bank, teaching brownies (2nd to 3rd graders) how to camp at a Girl Scout camp, passing out flowers to rooms in a hospice center, and passing out care packages to the homeless. I have amazing citizenship skills such as following rules and laws in not only the classroom but in my community, teaching
As a candidate, I already highly possess the requirement of scholarship. I am currently ranked 8th within my grade academically and I have maintained a grade point average of 96 or higher throughout
1) As a Roncalli student, I have been able to participate in many memorable service activities both as an individual and in a large group. From freshman year, I have accumulated the most service during the summer time when I have had the opportunity to be involved coaching youth teams in different sports. This service is the most special to me because it is a way for me to volunteer in activities that I myself love and have a passion for. It has taught me a lot, and I think I have gotten as much out of it as the girls I coach have. Another notable service is the service I was able to participate in with my classmates as a volunteer at Journey Home. This service really opened my eyes to the issues people and families face here in Aberdeen. I was happy that I was able to experience and learn something new while helping a cause and helping people in my own community that I otherwise would have never known about. This year, I was also able to volunteer to be a group leader at a Roncalli Junior High Retreat. When I was younger I always knew it was something I wanted to experience and I loved being there. It was great to meet the younger kids and help them along throughout the day while they experienced a retreat for the first time. I hope to continue these service activities as I get older and move out of my time in high school wherever I end up.
Scholarship, leadership, character, and service; also known as the four pillars to the National Honor Society. I believe that I have the necessary qualities that would help strengthen these pillars if given a membership. The National Honor Society helps our community through its volunteer work and its other beneficial activities. Being a part of this organization would let myself become part of the impact that it is leaving, and better myself as a person.
I was surprised to see that I was qualified for the National Honors Society Scholarship, however I felt as if it was going to be hard to “brag” about myself. I thought long and hard on who I am as a person and I have to say that I have many leadership, character, and service qualities.
