Being in the National Honor Society will push me in school and also help me strive for greatness and not for average. Throughout my years in school, I really didn’t care about my grades and also my behavior. I always was the one to get into trouble every day and really not care about

I am truly humbled and honored to be selected amongst the top students in my graduating class and I am excited to be given the opportunity to represent Gateway High School in our chapter of National Honor Society. I firmly believe that I posses traits that fulfill the pillars of NHS: Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character. Scholarship in my eyes is the ability to excel at high level educational studies. As a student, I strive for excellence in every way I can. I have taken a variety of AP and Honors classes during my time in high school, and I am proud to say that I have found myself on High Honor Roll on each report card I have received. I have been able to maintain a 3.85 GPA through two and a half years of school. Aside from school,
I am honored to be among the many students who are being considered for the National Honor Society. I believe that this organization does amazing things not just for the students at Harrison Community Schools but for everyone in the community and the surrounding communities. I strive to be apart of NHS and the positive changes they inflict on many lives because I have worked hard to get to this point. Leadership, Character and Service have brought me far in life therefore they are my strength to evolve into positive changes that better everyone.
Since I was five years old I would always give my community a help hand, whether in beautifying my community by planting flowers, or by volunteering at local places. From the ages from five to ten my after school program would go around the neighborhood to plant flowers. In my town library I donated my time to help the children with hands-on activities to promote original ideas such as creating objects with everyday items. I have also volunteered a total of 36 hours for the American Cancer Society.
It is truly an honor that I have the humbling opportunity to be a potential member of Barry Goldwater High School’s National Honor Society and that I would have the privilege to represent the society’s values and principles. I am elated to have the occasion to demonstrate and further develop my leadership skills and become a productive member in my community. Throughout my academic career, I found that the utilization of the four principles of NHS has helped me and I know that I will continue to demonstrate these traits in the future far after I graduate high school.

When previously thinking of how to describe myself, the word that came to mind was “ordinary.” I grew up in a small town, went to an even smaller high school, and both of my parents showered me with love. I had a charmed childhood, but I never thought there was anything extraordinary about myself. I felt as though I had the same-old story as everyone else. I had always felt pretty simple – pretty ordinary.
Throughout middle school, I participated in NJHS. I enjoyed the club and my advisors always recommended that I join NHS in high school. I like to think that I deserve this honor and this chance because I have worked very hard to get here. Leadership is one of my greatest attributes, and helping others is a passion of mine. Moreover, I am extremely ambitious, giving my all when completing a task or reaching a goal. My dream is to become a surgeon and I want to engage in the National Honor Society throughout high school and college, as the club will significantly enhance my leadership skills and aid in bettering myself as a person. This club can help me in the future to become a surgeon where leadership and courage will be the key to being

Through friends and family, I know the main characteristics a NHS member must hold include scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Through hard work, I have been able to hold a GPA over 3.8 in both 9th and 10th grade; this shows my strong dedication to scholarship. I am a dedicated person who enjoys giving back to the community; I have participated in many volunteer activities, and I would love the opportunity to continue my volunteer work as a NHS member. If I am given the privilege of NHS membership, I will continue to uphold my commitment to service and leadership.
Although I am new to this school, and to this country, I feel that I have already made a place for myself here—and National Honor Society is where I see myself belong. It is an honor to be one of the fine students being considered to be a part of this organization; therefore, after doing a thorough research on it, and learning that one must exhibit qualities of scholarship, leadership, character, and service in order to be a member of this society, I like to think that I deserve this honor and this chance because I do possess these qualities.
