Being chosen to be a candidate for a membership for the National Honor Society is such an honor to me. It shows that I have worked hard in all aspects of my life to show leadership, success, excellence and service, despite the many challenges I have faced along the way. It also proves to myself that I have worked hard to maintain my grades in ninth, tenth, and some of eleventh grade while maintaining a part time job, and volunteering at a barn in my hometown. Being able to attain the necessary GPA to be considered to become a member shows my hard work, which it a quality that I possess in and out of school. This year I got hired for a part time job in retail while still trying to go to my barn as much as possible, which proved to be difficult and very time consuming. However, I still managed to, despite having ADD, which makes time management very hard for me. Another factor that shows my hard work is my grades. My grades have gone from mostly B’s in ninth and tenth grade to having mostly A’s in eleventh grade. …show more content…
My riding outside of school has been filled with lots of tiny successes such as cantering for the first time, jumping 3 feet, having and overall good lesson, and getting back on the horse I broke my arm on after having surgery. However, the biggest success I’ve had was being able to leave my barn and participate in my first dressage test during sophomore year. In that test I won first place out of ten other contestants. After I won, I realized that that success measured how far I’ve come, from breaking my arm and being nervous to ride again, to jumping three feet that summer, to winning my first dressage
During my high school career, I have participated in a large majority of the clubs available to me, and held officer positions in most of them as well. In both the National Honor Society and Medical Connections Clubs I am a member of two and four years respectively, and was elected treasurer of both for the 2017-2018 school year. National Honor Society has also given me many community service opportunities, including helping with the Night to Shine organization and a volunteering at a local nursing home.
I demonstrate these qualities both inside and outside of school. I feel honored to be considered for admission into this great organization and I hope I get in to the National Junior Honor Society. I have always done well in my studies and I will continue to do so. I

The time and effort I have put into each and every day to shape who I am displays my dedication. Growing up, I had a vision of who I wanted to become because of the influential people who surrounded me. As my current chapter is coming to an end, I realized I obtained my goal; I have managed to play every sport that interested me. My goal led me to play my three favorite sports, all four years of high school. Along with my athletic abilities, I have managed to maintain a spot in the top ten percent of my class, which made me eligible to participate in National Honor Society.
After the induction ceremony, I came before my mom, both of us smiling. Words were not necessary for me to know that my mom was proud of me. Being in National Honor Society was something that did not just made my parents proud, but it made me proud of myself. The honor of being in the club is not the only reason why the club is so valuable for me. It is the experience that I get form interacting and working with students from other grade levels that really inspires me. The club meetings and activities allow me to meet amazing individuals that I might have never had the opportunity to meet. I am extremely honored to be considered in being in the National Honor Society. I believe that this organization helps a lot within communities and keeping grades up. That is why I believe I should be a member. I know how to keep my grades at the highest they can be, which in my case is a 4.0. I am also largely active within my community and school. I play softball for my high school and hope to be a captain this year since I am now an upperclassman. I also enjoy helping within my community doing things such as work, clubs, and travel softball.
With my working ethic I try my best to finish a task. I try to put my best effort into everything I do. I work hard in school and like to perform well in basketball. This membership
