National Honor Society First off, thank you for the opportunity to be considered for a National Honor Society membership. I feel as though I reflect the standards and characteristics of a NHS member. I believe that I am a good candidate for the National Honor Society because I can be a leader, serve wholeheartedly, have a good character, and have excellent scholarship. Firstly, I believe I should be selected for NHS is because of my leadership abilities. I have practiced my leadership ability mostly at the pool. I have coached many kids from the ages of eight to twelve through the Hammerheads Swim Club by helping them work on their techniques and improving their swimming as a whole. Also, this year my coach, Carl Schoessel, from the high school swim team chose me and a few other girls to be mentors for the new girls on the team. I show them what to do and if they have any questions or need advice they come and ask me. …show more content…
I see myself as a kind and understanding person. I also believe I can be very welcoming in a public setting. For example, I am a greeter at my church in the nursery when the parent come and sign their kids into class. Sometimes I can be a bit shy but when I need to be I can be a very pleasant person to be around, such as when I am at church and I have to be very welcoming and talkative. Thirdly, I definitely have outstanding scholarship. I am a very punctual person and in my entire high school career so far I have managed to keep a 4.0 grade point average whilst being involved in out of school activities such as swimming, church related events, and other activities. I am a very hard worker when it comes to school. I usually spend my limited free time doing homework and focusing on what I need to do the next day. I am also very aware of my grades and work hard to keep them at A’s and I am very good about fixing the problems when they fall below an
What is National Honor Society? National Honor Society is a group of prestige students that are leaders, scholars, role models, and serve their communities. These students go on to accomplish great things. I am going to give examples of how I demonstrated the qualities of National Honor Society, scholarship, leadership, service, character.
I am excited to be considered as a candidate for National Honor Society (NHS). Through friends and family, I know the main characteristics a NHS member must hold include scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Through hard work, I have been able to hold a GPA over 3.8 in both 9th and 10th grade; this shows my strong dedication to scholarship. I am a dedicated person who enjoys giving back to the community; I have participated in many volunteer activities, and I would love the opportunity to continue my volunteer work as a NHS member. If I am given the privilege of NHS membership, I will continue to uphold my commitment to service and leadership.
I believe that I am a strong candidate for acquiring a spot in NHS. I possess all of the criteria needed to make a good NHS member. I demonstrate scholarship through my work ethic and in making school a first priority. I try to make sure that any work that is presented to me
Being chosen by my teachers and other leaders to be a candidate for membership in the National Honor Society is a great honor for me. It means I have achieved my goal of demonstrating my determination and willingness to help people and serve the community. I believe I will be a good member because I am hardworking, reliable, and trustworthy. Community Service to me means I am doing my part to help the people and animals in need. Like walking the dogs at the Humane Society, bringing therapy animals to the Assisted Living, and helping with saxophone lessons.
When I was fist informed of something called National Junior Honor Society in middle school, I was unsure if I wanted to be a part of it, but soon after research and explanation, I quickly knew that this was something I wanted to join. As I was handed my candidate letter just a few weeks ago, it excited me to have the opportunity of something great that can lead me to new openings. I believe that being part of this society will truly be an honor and allow me to feel accomplished from all of the hard work I have put into school these past three years. To me, being part of National Honor Society not only gives me something great to put on my college resume, but also assigns me with the prestigious task of living up to the four core values of Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character.
As a sophomore, I am honored to be among the few students that have been granted the opportunity to be involved in the National Honor Society. I have many core values, that I feel qualify me as a leader in regards to my service to others and academic success.
Throughout my high school career, I have made it my priority to dedicate my time to academics, athletics, and community service projects. Academically, I strive to maintain my honor roll status which I have achieved since my freshman year. While dedicating my time to rigorous AP and Honors courses I have also been a member of the girl’s winter and spring track team since my freshman year and officially earned varsity status my sophomore year. I have also been an active member of the girl’s cross country team both my junior and senior year. Leadership roles such as these have allowed to me transform into a well rounded, hardworking, and responsible individual, which essentially allowed me to become a member of Barnegat High School’s National
To be chosen as a candidate to become a National Honor Society member is a huge honor. I have been working very hard these past years and to finally be recognized for it feels great. I am a very hard working person and I love to help when I can. I believe I am responsible, hard working and easy to get along with, so I would love to be apart of National Honor Society to do even more than what I already have done. My academic achievements show that I am very hardworking and responsible.
Being chosen to be a candidate for a membership for the National Honor Society is such an honor to me. It shows that I have worked hard in all aspects of my life to show leadership, success, excellence and service, despite the many challenges I have faced along the way. It also proves to myself that I have worked hard to maintain my grades in ninth, tenth, and some of eleventh grade while maintaining a part time job, and volunteering at a barn in my hometown.
National Honor Society highly values leadership, service, academics, and respectable character, I believe that I encase all four of these values. Service, leadership, academics, and my reputable character have really helped to shape my life in the past years and I am honored to have the privilege of applying to the National Honor Society to potentially grow in even further these aspects of my life. National Honor Society is known for obtaining members and recognizing students with hardworking ethics and scholarly grades. I currently obtain a respectable accumulative GPA of a 3.743. Academics is highly valued in my mind.
The girls in my P.E class usually don’t like participating in sports activities because whenever the class picks teams they are either picked last or scolded by the boys for not being good enough. So, I usually step up as captain and pick those girls for my team and I try to motivate them to play. Regardless of whether we win or lose, I try to get them to effectively participate and eventually enjoy the game. If chosen for the NHS, I will apply the same attitude to whatever project we are given. I am willing to participate in different tasks and take on challenges while maintaining my positive attitude.
I am very grateful to be given the opportunity to apply for the National Honor Society. I have wanted to be in National Honor Society for many years and now I have the chance to potentially associate myself with the prestigious organization. I hope that I will be able to be able to further expand the impression the National Honor Society has had in our society. I believe that I have been able to receive this honor because I have worked hard to get to where I am today.
I have achieved academic excellence throughout Middle School and High School. In Middle School I was awarded School Board Scholar because I was in the top 5% of my class. In High School I have been awarded with being on the Principal's List, maintaining a 4.0, in 9th and 10th grade as well as achieving Academic All Conference in the Mississippi 8 through basketball.
The time and effort I have put into each and every day to shape who I am displays my dedication. Growing up, I had a vision of who I wanted to become because of the influential people who surrounded me. As my current chapter is coming to an end, I realized I obtained my goal; I have managed to play every sport that interested me. My goal led me to play my three favorite sports, all four years of high school. Along with my athletic abilities, I have managed to maintain a spot in the top ten percent of my class, which made me eligible to participate in National Honor Society.
I am immensely grateful to have the opportunity to apply to the National Junior Honor Society. Since elementary I have wanted to be a member and everyday I try to be a productive citizen that helps my community, school, peers, and family, which is all something that National Junior Honor Society values. In my pursuit to be a helpful citizen, I have started to volunteer these past few years. This includes feeding the homeless on Monday evenings, playing with the dogs at the Animal League of Welfare on weekends, and volunteering at Matthew 25: Ministries, an international humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization that helps the poor that are local, regional, national and international. Currently, I only help out a few times a month, but
