The time and effort I have put into each and every day to shape who I am displays my dedication. Growing up, I had a vision of who I wanted to become because of the influential people who surrounded me. As my current chapter is coming to an end, I realized I obtained my goal; I have managed to play every sport that interested me. My goal led me to play my three favorite sports, all four years of high school. Along with my athletic abilities, I have managed to maintain a spot in the top ten percent of my class, which made me eligible to participate in National Honor Society. All my experiences taught me many valuable lessons that I will carry on with me for the rest of my life.

I have dedicated countless hours to each sport, which finally paid off in high school. By the end of the year, I will have lettered nine out of twelve seasons. Most importantly, I played on the varsity level all four years in my two favorite sports. Soccer and basketball have always been my all time favorites, which truly shows with the amount of hours I have dedicated to each. Not only did I play for school, but I played for different clubs. For basketball, I played AAU through the YMCA for three years, and for soccer I played futsal to receive more touches during the off-season. This meant some nights I had three practices to go to before I could go home and relax. I learned the more time and effort I put into anything, the more likely I would succeed. My hard work paid off when I received honorable mention all-conference for basketball my junior year. Along with the hard work I have put into these sports, I have left behind traits of my good character. During my junior year of high school, I was captain of the varsity reserve volleyball team, and I was captain of the soccer team. As a senior, I have received the position of being a captain for the basketball team, and I hope to fulfill my spot as a captain
Currently I am in cross country, basketball, and track, but I have done many other sports in the past. I joined the cross country team in 8th grade in hopes of finding a new passion. I fell in love with running and decided to join the track team that same year. Basketball is a different story; I joined in 3rd grade just because my parents signed me up as most sports go when you're younger, and I struggled greatly with learning and understanding the game. I spent long summers training in my yard trying to get better. This determination helped me significantly when it became time for tryouts, as I ended up making the higher team. To this day I still have a lot of determination when it comes to sports and most things in
The National Honor Society is a group of dedicated individuals that work hard to maintain stellar grades, show exemplary character at school and the community, and aspire to be leaders in many aspects of their school careers. As a devoted student I show these attributes daily and strive to positively impact the Bath community. It's a great honor to be recognized as a candidate for this group of accomplished, young leaders. I want to be selected as a member, because NHS can take me to the next step and prepare me for the future process of applying for colleges and careers. National Honor Society is a place where I can showcase my abilities and potential and it would mean a great deal to be chosen for membership.
The National Honor Society is a group of kids that excel; they work with the community to improve the community and their abilities simultaneously. I believe that I would be a fantastic addition to Lynden’s Nation Honor Society Chapter because I exemplify the four points of the National Honor Society scholarship, service, leadership, and character. One of my strongest points is scholarship. The reason that I show scholarship is because I am willing to work very hard at everything that I do. When I was a kid, I did terrible in school, my grades were bad and I was heavily tutored during and after classes.
First and foremost, I would just like to say that is an honor to even be considered as a future member of the National Honor Society. Since freshman year, I have the goal to one day be a member of the National Honor Society. Right now, I am so close and I hope I will be able to achieve that goal. I believe I am a good fit to become a member of this organization, because I am hardworking, dependable, honest, and I have the core values of scholarship, leadership, character, and service.
Throughout my high school career, I have made it my priority to dedicate my time to academics, athletics, and community service projects. Academically, I strive to maintain my honor roll status which I have achieved since my freshman year. While dedicating my time to rigorous AP and Honors courses I have also been a member of the girl’s winter and spring track team since my freshman year and officially earned varsity status my sophomore year. I have also been an active member of the girl’s cross country team both my junior and senior year. Leadership roles such as these have allowed to me transform into a well rounded, hardworking, and responsible individual, which essentially allowed me to become a member of Barnegat High School’s National
I have demonstrated my leadership in both Student-to-Student and my track and cross-country teams. In eighth grade, I was one of the captains of my track team. I would help lead stretches, warm-ups, and sometimes the workout. I was not a captain my freshman year, but I exhibited leadership skills and influenced my teammates to do their best. Being a new student to RHS, I was not a captain in cross-country either, but, again, I proved my ability to be a leader through my actions and motivating those around me.
The National Honor Society is a prestigious organization that I, as a student, am striving for acceptance. At the end of seventh grade, I was accepted into the National Junior Honor Society and ever since then I have had my eyes set on the next level of education. I have had outstanding grades throughout my academic career, which has taught me leadership and how to show my service to the community, all while building my character into the person I am today. Ever since I was little, my sister has held me to high academic standards to see if I would be able to achieve higher scores and obtain more awards than she did when she was in high school. One of her highest student accomplishments was being accepted into the National Honor Society.
I have always loved sports, but in September 2015 a certain sport changed my life. At the start of grade eight I joined the Airdrie Aces Athletic Club. I am now a better person because of this change that I made in my life. Before I started running track, I played soccer. While playing soccer I did not realize all the opportunities available to me through sports.
All of my experiences shaped me into who I am today. My activities throughout high school will help with this process. Throughout my high school career, I participated in ice hockey, lacrosse and cross country. I earned varsity letters for all sports.
Since I was young I have always wanted and strive to stay active and to excel at the sports I play. This goal started when I was in the first grade. I set this goal because my whole family was extremely active and I wanted to be like them and do things with them. My goal of staying active was significant because as a child, I was either acting rowdy, getting hurt or in trouble, or doing absolutely nothing mainly the last one. Achieving this goal has been arduous for me for a while. In the 2nd and 3rd grade I played soccer for my dad’s Orange team and I was number 8, in the 4th and 5th grade I played football for a maroon and gold team called the Trojans as number 50, and in 8th grade I played football for a black and red team called the Hawks
When I was younger my dad would always tell me “If you do more than one sport in high school you won’t have to get a job.” This lead to me being a multi-sport athlete ever since I was in kindergarten. I signed up for wrestling in 1st grade and football soon after that. I finished high school being successful in both wrestling and football all while having a summer job. I was able to do it all because of the support system that I had from the community and most importantly my parents. Participating in athletics can make an impact in anybody’s life, especially kids.
All my life I’ve played sports, but it wasn’t until I got to high school and college that being discipline and committed started to count. I had to really pay attention on the field and off the field. What I’ve learned from sports is that you have to be disciplined, responsible, and willing to overcome the bad times. You have to be dedicated to whatever sport you are doing, whether you messed up on the field or you didn’t turn your homework in on time. Learning these things throughout your whole life really helps you to be a better person, and it feels good when you do something right. Putting these principles in effect in your daily life really betters yourself, and I know everybody wants to be the best they can be on and off the field.
Through sports I learned to think positively and to set goals for myself. When I was younger I thought I had to play the same sports as my siblings as I was a close-minded kid. I didn’t want to do anything that seemed “weird” or “unique”. I just wanted to fit
Knowing my limited athletic talents, I began to explore other aspects of sports. In my junior year, I decided to become the Statistician for the Soccer team. By the end of the season, I earned my first varsity letter for soccer. When fencing season began, I was called up to the varsity squad as my skills improved. By the end of the season, I received my second varsity letter for fencing. At the end of the year, I realized there was a difference between both letters. The soccer letter represented me recognizing my personal flaws and adjusting my interests to succeed in the end. The fencing letter represented me working on my determination and ability to learn the skills needed to reach my goal.
My life has consisted of many sports. Sports has been a part of my life for a while now every since I can remember. The sports I played throughout the years has been baseball, football, soccer, and I ran track. Throughout the years I played these sports has been some challenging times and injuries that have happened to me.
