National Honor Society essay If i was to make the world a better place for all I feel like i would need to be perfect, and as you probably know, i am not. However, if i was able to leave an impact to start the change for the world i believe my skills and talents would be beneficial. The skills and talents that i would say would be most beneficial is the fact that i am very open minded to other people's opinions yet, i can stand my ground on my own. I can also say without a doubt that i am a very humble person and take pride for what my parents did to get me where i am today. The last thing is that i stick to my word, and will keep a promise as long as if i can trust you. Now, let's get more into detail. I am a very opened minded person, being open minded allows me to receive criticism and opinions from other people without being disturbed. I believe in a world where everything is changing and new topics are being introduced it is essential to be open minded. This allows for new concepts and ideas to be made in order to advance in the world we are living in today. I believe that if you are not open minded it doesn't let ideas to be passed on, it’s like putting a dam in a river. You stop the flow of ideas, not allowing the world to advance in topics such as in equality. However, i believe that in certain situations it is important to know how to stand your ground and know how to defend your position. I believe i do this, it's important, you're not always going to agree with everybody, such as the way everyone is not going to agree with you. I wouldn't be writing this essay if it wasn't for what parents did in order for me to get here. My parents have had a long journey just to be living in the place they are in now. Thanks to them i was born in the united states of america and not mexico. I was able to have a good environment to live in and a country with the best education. With their support i worked hard and showed why i deserve to be in national honor society. That's why i am humble for what i have and try to make the best of every situation i am in. I believe it's very important to be humble because why would i pay back my parents with things they would not want me to do. My parents wouldn't want me to
The four pillars of National Honor Society (NHS) include scholarship, service, leadership, and character. I have already received this application opportunity due to meeting the requirements of the scholarship portion of NHS, which requires a strong commitment to learning and putting effort towards achieving high grades in the classroom. I intend to benefit the remaining three pillars of service, leadership, and character through my willingness to work for others free of reward, initiative to lead my peers, and optimal decision making.
A National Junior Honor Society member must be a good person and student. They must exemplify the five pillars of NJHS, scholarship, character, leadership, citizenship, and service. Here is how I exemplify these five pillars.
I think I should be considered for a membership for the National Junior Honor Society or NJHS because I am a different individual with a dream. My dream is to fulfill my parents dream and make them proud. My parents have done so much for me and they deserve to be repaid. My parents want me to go to a good college and graduate
I am honored to be among the commendable students whom are being considered to be a part of such a prestigious organization, The National Honor Society. I have been wanting to be a part of this organization the second I stepped into this school. Of course I have worked vigorously for it, there has not been one year here at Lone Star where I have not been in less than 3 Pre-AP or AP classes with averages frequently resulting in an A. I work hard everyday and night in order to ensure my success now and in the future. National Honor Society is an exceptional group brimmed with bright young men and women who create the world of tomorrow. I, Jadzia Sanchez, Class of 2017, yearn to be a part of such a group. I have been a part of theatre in both middle school and high school, I am a very active thespian and have branched out by joining acting classes outside of school.
On behalf of Beaufort Middle School, myself, Dr. Tomon and The Faculty Council we congratulate you and your student on being selected for membership to the Beaufort Middle School Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. The NJHS is a program that celebrates the success of many of our hardest working students, based upon academic achievement as well as the demonstration of outstanding character, service, leadership, and citizenship. These criteria for selection form the foundation upon which the organization and its activities are built. Members of NJHS take pride in their accomplishments and work diligently toward the goal of attaining a superior education and contributing to their school and community. They do their best to provide positive role models for their peers.
National Junior Honor Society will be a great opportunity for me. If I am accepted into NJHS I plan on keeping up my 4.0 average, balancing between school and outside of school activities, continuing to help my community/peers, and creating a specific idea to make a positive impact at the school. The next 3 paragraphs I will be stating why I will be a great member of NJHS, why it's good to help people, and something I could do to positively impact my school.
Throughout my high school career, I have come to be heavily involved in activities within my high school. I was inducted into National Honor Society in the school year of 2015-2016. I came to be involved in the Drama Club for all four years of my high school career, along with being in Student Council all four years as well. In Student Council, I held the position of treasurer my senior year, and was on the executive board. The music department also has been one of the biggest programs I have come to be involved in within my high school career. I have played alto saxophone in concert band all four years of high school, and played alto saxophone my senior year in jazz band. Along with being in both concert band and jazz band, I was also part
My name is Geena Toro. I am very honored to be considered a candidate in the National Junior Honor Society. I have found that in today’s society, it is very hard to find a person that has the three characteristics needed to be accepted into National Junior Honor Society. I have learned that these traits are character, leadership, and citizenship. These traits cannot be found in everyone, but I believe that I have these outstanding qualities.
First of all, I would like to thank you for taking me into consideration as a nominee for the National Honor Society of Coolidge High School
Freshman year of high school was a scary, but an exciting time. Going into a new building with new teachers and three other grades is terrifying. But this story is going to talk about my most memorable moment: getting my letter and being accepted into Freshmen Academy Honor Society. Winter of early 2014, i got my letter in the mail about being eligible to apply to be in Freshman Academy Honor Society. Which shocked me, but it also made be happy. It showed me that I’m capable of a 3.0 GPA or even higher.
Throughout every aspect of my learning, I always strive to further my own skills by fully immersing myself into the specific scenario, so joining the National English Honor Society will allow my skills and passion towards English to flourish. In my efforts to benefit my own studies and desires, I innately establish leadership roles in the activities I devote my time to the extent I can, such as Student Council. If given the opportunity to become a member of the National English Honor Society, I will gladly attempt to contribute to the organization’s projects because I naturally invest myself entirely in the things that I do. Being a part of the organization would foster more opportunities in my future where I could continue the passion I have
When one goes through the stages of development, he can point to several key elements that aid the process; for example, bravery, determination, and curiosity. When it comes to my development, the four pillars of the National Honor Society – character, service, leadership, and scholarship – have done much to solidify my development into a more refined person. Let’s start with character and service.
I would consider being open minded is the most important thing you should know about me when we first meet. Whether it's politics, trying something new, or getting to understand someone else's point of view, I will remain receptive and open. Over the past year, I found myself discovering where I stand politically, and a lot of my views have come from being open minded to other people's lifestyles and choices. With this new self-discovery, I can positively say that I now perceive my world in a completely different way than I did when I felt stuck to the opinions I was raised to have. Open-minded is defined as "receptive to arguments and ideas" (Open-minded. (n.d.). I fully agree to this definition because when you're arguing with me, my goal is never to prove you wrong, and me right, it's to see your view on a specific situation, and taking time to fully understand where you're coming from. I have no issue admitting
In general, I think of myself as a very open-minded person and I do not really experience difficulty discussing a wide variety of topics with different people. I am generally able to separate my personal feelings about an issue from other people's personal feelings about issues, so that I do not feel threatened when my opinion differs from theirs. I accept that human beings are different and that it is inevitable that I am going to have different beliefs than some people, and that those different beliefs do not make me better or worse than other people, but simply make me different from them. Therefore, I do consider myself a pretty open-minded person.
#Argue with respect and kindness. The key to demonstrating open-mindedness is avoiding defensiveness. Rather than shouting or insulting those who think differently than you, rationally share why you disagree. This opens the door for more open and productive discussions.
