National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society alike have provided the best opportunities for personal growth for a few reasons. As members, we sacrifice our time for the betterment of others. It is rewarding to help those in need without seeking credit. National Honor Society allowed me to reach out to those very close and dear to me in the community, while National Technical Honor Society helped me reach out to communities outside of Dansville, that I would have never had the opportunity to help otherwise. Both chapters were very influential in developing maturity, accountability, and selflessness. Additionally, being the Treasurer of National Honor Society has given me the opportunity to take on a leadership role. Stepping
Since entering the National Honor Society I have learned the significance of hard work. Good grades, the ability to show cooperation and leadership, and having the desire to help others without instruction are needed in the society. The National Honor Society has revealed the importance of hard work to me, and once inaugurated, one's efforts cannot slack up. One must still be engaged in keeping good grades, participating in voluntary work, and doing everything to the absolute best of your ability.
Being a part of National Honor Society means that I am held at a higher standard than most students. I am to uphold the four pillars of National Honor Society, which are service, scholarship, leadership, and character. All four aspects of NHS have been important in my life and have shaped me into who I am today. Being involved with and serving my community has given me a better understanding of the needs of a community. I have had the opportunities to help people, which brings me joy, and gives me a way to reach out to my surrounding area. Being a good scholar has meant the world to me all of my life and it has begun to pay off. I see myself excelling in areas of life that some struggle. It has also helped me get into good colleges and have
I am privileged to be one of the remarkable students qualified to join Eureka High School’s National Honor Society. I have been looking forward to applying to this organization as it provides influential help in our society. I would be privileged to join this distinguished association because it would provide me with opportunities to get involved in my community. As a hardworking, helpful, and friendly individual, I feel that I would make an auxiliary member to this organization. I demonstrate the qualities that are necessary to join this prestigious society, including leadership, character, scholarship, and service.
During my high school career, I have participated in a large majority of the clubs available to me, and held officer positions in most of them as well. In both the National Honor Society and Medical Connections Clubs I am a member of two and four years respectively, and was elected treasurer of both for the 2017-2018 school year. National Honor Society has also given me many community service opportunities, including helping with the Night to Shine organization and a volunteering at a local nursing home.
First, I believe that my involvement with the National Junior Honor Society will help me to prepare my future as a leader. John Maxwell once said that “ a leader is one who knows the way,
The National Junior Honor Society is one of the first stepping stones to becoming a remarkable leader and citizen in my community. I have had many opportunities throughout my life to participate in my community, be it through my church, swim team , or other groups. But I truly believe that I am not a perfect citizen. I have many lengths to strive for to become the person I would like to be. NJHS will help me on my path to becoming a leader by giving me opportunities to work with people who see the world the way I do. Who see the world as full of opportunity, most of it untapped. Full of people that struggle for food, or are being crushed with work. I would like to change this , and NJHS will help me achieve my vision.
The National Honors Society allows students to be build and create traits that are essential in a successful adult. I truly believe that hold many of these traits and joining the National Honor Society will grant me the opportunity to expand on these traits and grow as a person. Thus far I have focus greatly on the scholarship aspect of NHS and have been dedicated to my academics. I have held my GPA above 4.0 and have always been devoted to maintaining that high level of academic success. The skills I have shown in devoting myself to my academics can be easily translated into my dedication for the other aspects of leadership, service and character. Having previously held a officer role in the National Junior Honor Society I have gained experience
In addition to scholarship, National Honor Society emphasizes community service. I have a passion for service and have been involved in service projects through my church, Dance Team, FFA and 4H. As I reflect on all of the community service events I have assisted in, I have realized that each time I have helped others, I have grown as a person. I have learned to be appreciative of all of the opportunities that my situation has provided for me. Leadership is yet another quality that National Honor Society builds. I have worked on developing my leadership skills through my participation in 4H, church youth group, FFA, and dance. I would like to gain more leadership experience by helping to organize the activities that National Honor Society has throughout the year. A positive character is recognized and developed by National Honor Society. I strive to always maintain a good character. I work hard and try to be a positive role model as a student, employee, volunteer, and friend. Character is important to me because of the leadership position I am put
National Honors Society students also exhibit the individual traits of sincerity, reliability, and honesty. My service experiences have made me become more sincere and genuine. I wish to provide hope for better lives in everyone. My history with leadership shows that I am willing to put forth the hard effort to help make dreams comes true, not just for me but for everyone else around me. My studies have shown me that a path of honesty and truth make a person truly stand out from the rest. It separates the hard workers from the people who cut
The National Honor Society is for high school seniors who have “demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character”. At John Marshall we really push the “service” area. There are so many different reason I wanted to be a part of NHS; It gives me satisfaction that I was able to become a member of such an elite society, it also is very rewarding to give back to a community that has done so much for me. Each service project I have volunteered at has taught me something different. Since July, I have volunteered at eleven different projects (over 32 hours), and I have learned something new every time. When I volunteered at the Marshall County Family Resource Network’s gift packaging for teenagers at Cameron High and Middle, Moundsville Middle, Sherrard Middle and John Marshall High Schools, I didn’t realize there were so many of my peers in need of simple hygiene products. It inspired me to help and give back to them by donating to Paws for a Cause at John
I am tremendously honored to be a candidate for the National Honor Society. I have seen such sincere values in many of my peers who have been inducted in the last years, and am thrilled to have a chance to join them. The values NHS represents match so closely with my own. One of the most important characteristics NHS symbolizes is leadership. Practically my whole life I have worked towards becoming a strong leader. Ten years ago when I first entered cub scouts, I was shy and absolutely terrified of public speaking or leading anyone. However, over the years many leadership opportunities were presented to me, and I began to improve.
When I was in 11th grade, I was given the opportunity to join the National Honor Society. Being a member has taught me multiple lessons and has offered me so many opportunities to help the community. With all that I have learned through my time with the National Honor Society, I have been given the opportunities that will and have changed my future.
The four pillars of the National Honor Society are scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Scholarship has always been dear to me. It has given me a focus to achieve and succeed, but life, as I have learned, is more than a lesson learned in the classroom. Over the past few years, I have strived to become a more well-rounded person, working to overcome my shortcomings to be a leader, to have strong character, and to be of service to others. Without a great amount of hard work, time, and effort, I would still be in the same position; struggling, trying to better myself.
Because of National Honor Society, I have become a student who is committed to learning and spending the required time to do the best work that I possibly can. Through diligence and effort, I have personally been able to obtain the level of scholarship that is expected out of me as
From the early years when I’d come home imitating my school teachers with a determination to make those around me learn what I have learned, to now where I’ve become talented in the art of communication, time management, and delegation. Leadership is described as the natural skill of leading others to deliberately create results that wouldn’t have happened otherwise. For me, this includes setting a good example for others to follow. It also involves inspiring others and personally connecting with them. This quality comes naturally for me. As an empathetic person, I always find myself itching to help; always looking for solutions, and constantly searching for ways to make situations better. Becoming a part of National Honor Society would create a larger pathway to connect and collaborate with other members in finding the best ways to serve my community. I will maintain self-awareness, uphold my vision, and continue motivating others to work alongside
