All of creation is about Jesus. He is the reason all of creation exists. We were created by Him and for Him. Our purpose is to worship Him, become like Him, tell others about Him, and love and serve others like he would.

Naturalism view man’s meaning/purpose to be opened to many interpretation of how to leave a positive impact on others and the world around them. Theists believe that mankind knows God. Religion is man’s attempt to reach God. Christianity translate that the Bible is God’s plan to reach man. John 17:3 states “that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” Basically having a personal relationship with God.

Therefore, God must also exist in dimensions far beyond those of the visible world. Benedictus de Spinoza was much a pantheist, believing that God is identical to the universe as a whole.

Everyone has a Worldview. “A collection of beliefs about life and the universe held by an individual or a group.” (1) Some have a Biblical Worldview. A Biblical Worldview is founded on the word of God. It is how a Christian views the world. Both belief systems are equally important to each individual, but there are differences in the way they view the natural world, human identity, human relationships, and culture.

What is nature? The answer to that question is unique not only on a cultural basis but also unique to every person. When many people are confronted with different viewpoints or opinions on a particular subject, they often have the desire to conform that person’s opinions to their own. This creates a binary way of thinking. You either agree or disagree. This binary really is not effective, however, when discussing the topic of what is nature or what is natural because it is not a question that has a clear answer. We all have different connotations attached to the word nature. None of these connotations are wrong. They are just different. They are a product of our religion, our biology, and the experiences of our life. There have been many provocative thoughts expressed about what is natural that have either directly or indirectly defined nature to us. Whether it is an ancient story passed down through oral tradition throughout generations or modern writing, we have always looked to define nature not just for ourselves but for others around us. And this has caused only gridlock and confrontation.

There are three basic world views recognized. A world view is "A set of assumptions or beliefs about reality that affect how we think and how we live” (Krise 2017) it can also be described as "The comprehensive perspective from which we interpret all of reality"(Krise 2017). Simply put it is our beliefs and views about the world, god or no god, and the afterlife. The three world views are Atheism, Pantheism, and Theism. Atheists believe there is no higher power or afterlife. Pantheists believe that “all is god,” they believe in a spiritual realm but no single god, common religions in this world view include Hinduism and Buddhism. Theism believes in a single god and an afterlife that connects to that

Worldviews vary from person to person and faith to faith, resulting in everyone seeing the world through their own assumptions and beliefs. Out of the many worldviews discussed in the text, Integrative Approaches to Psychology and Christianity, and in class three stood out to me for comparison. These three worldviews consist of Naturalism, Pantheism and Polytheism. Worldviews, although not always correct, are how people see the world and reflect on our expectations about life. Differences can be seen in beliefs such as if they believe in a spiritual world, a material world, or both. Worldview’s purposes are to explain the purpose of man and the world. All three worldviews attribute the problems in the world to different aspects based on their beliefs and have diverse notions of how to resolve the world problems. Although a few similarities can be found among these world views, there are multiple differences found.

There are many different types of worldviews in play during this day in age. One of the broadest indecisive worldviews is the New Age worldview. The New Age worldview ism to help individuals find their inner divinity. The New Age movement believes that we are all divine, therefore, we are all gods. This is great contrast with the Christian worldview who believe that there is only one true God. Although these two worldviews are very different when it comes down to “Who is God?”, they do have some commonalities. This knowledge greatly affects my worldview and affects how I live my life.

Naturalism is about bringing humans into the “natural world”. We, as humans, are seen as aspects of nature collectively not separate like they once were. “Naturalism holds that everything we are and do is connected to the rest of the world and derived from conditions that precede us and surround us. Each of us is an unfolding natural process, and every aspect of that process is caused, and is a cause itself ” (“A Guide for Naturalism”). Humans are like “animals” they contain the same drives that animals have. They are just plain “natural”. Many authors express naturalism in their writings such as Kate Chopin. She expresses a naturalistic view on sexual drives which classify her as a

meaning everything that exists is all just physical matter. Based off of these beliefs there is also no God because there is no need for one. Therefore because there is no God there is no purpose or meaning for your life because when you die you don't go to heaven or hell you just die. Because in Naturalism God is non-existent you would then have to explain the creation of the universe in some other way. Most Naturalists primarily believe in the big bang and evolution but in this belief comes the first contradiction of naturalism. The theory of evolution is in direct conflict with naturalism. For evolution to work it requires life to continuously multiply in turn giving your life purpose and contradicting the belief in naturalism.

In Consider, the authors list Naturalism, Pantheism, and Theism as the three main primary classifications of worldview. From a Christian worldview perspective, the universe was created from a supernatural design and ruled by a monotheistic God. Other classifications of worldview discredits this design phases, and many feel as though the universe was conceived by an “impersonal force” (pantheists) or a scientific creation through evolution (naturalists). Secular humanists supports naturalism however believes God is a figment of human’s imagination and “that man is created good and thus can will himself to being better” (Hindson, 2008, p.47).

God to the people of the big three monotheist religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) see god as an all-knowing, all-seeing, and all-powerful being.

Naturalism is a scientific aspect to examine the meaning of life. All life has started with the Big Bang 15 billion years ago. This position suggests that the meaning of life can be found by the origin of life. However, as scientific fact shows that there is no time and space before the Big Bang, life is determined as meaningless.
