Option #1: Navigating the CSU-Global Library
ProQuest and Business Source Complete (EBSCO) are the two databases that are being compared in this article. Initially ProQuest seems easiest to navigate and provides a wide range of topics. EBSCO was also chosen due to the focus on business related articles. Comparing these databases on a business-related topic will prove which one has the best outcome. Searching, navigating, narrowing the scope and using the article tools are all important parts to identifying the right research. Badke (2014) states in reference to searching databases that “if you want results that reflect what you are seeking in your research question, then use such terminology that comes out of your research question”

When reviewing the EBSCO help tools it explains that even in a basic search there are still search options. Help tools similarly explain, options for selecting phrases, choosing AND/OR, and even turn on a smart text search, which leverages technology to conduct the best results. Without limiting the search a basic search of mobile banking turns up 11,081 items. This is a much smaller pool than what ProQuest brought up, however, EBSCO seems to be more business focused and also lists, newspapers, magazines, trade publications and videos.
Narrowing the Scope of the Search Results
Advanced search seems like the way to go when narrowing down the scope of the research. As you start typing it provides the user with word suggestions. While typing mobile banking it suggested consumer and mobile banking and mobile banking adoption. There are also AND, OR and NOT options. Selections for full text, peer reviewed and scholarly journals are also available. There is even an option to select all kinds of publication dates. Using suggested topics, plus using the AND feature (consumer adoption of internet banking) AND (mobile banking adoption) within the past three years seems like the best bet. The advanced search only narrowed down the results to 710 articles. 710 articles, is still too many and needs to be narrowed down even more. The publication chart on the side showed the majority of the articles were published in 2015 and 2016. Knowing that technology
The mortgage crisis of 2009 led to a deep recession and spilled over into a financial crisis that affected the retail banking business. Banks started waving fees and offering additional benefits in order to capture and retain customers. Mobile banking was introduced in the US in 2007 which added costs to each transaction. However, these costs were lower than call centers and interactive voice response costs. Bank of America had three options: mobile messaging (mobile stream modification without any software installation), mobile Internet (wireless application protocol), and mobile applications. Mobile applications in particular were more sophisticated and costly. Smartphone use was estimated to grow to 46% by 2014.
describe the location of the research database in a way that a reader could find it. This could be a URL or an APA citation;
As a business decision maker it is vital to evaluate your research resources. There are many resources available ranging from free resources to paid subscription resources, research libraries available in certain locations only, blogs, and business publications. Another alternative would be to research the company on its own website. While doing the research the researcher must be aware of the validity and unbiased research available. Free resources are a general starting point in research.
Sources of business information can come in a variety of different forms which include: Newspapers, Websites, Books, Posters, Directories,
12. Banks like USAA use provide web-based and mobile computing options for their customers. Web-based computing allows users to complete longer more detailed processes like applying for a credit card or a home loan. Mobile computing, however, allows users to connect with companies, mostly in a limited fashion, while on the go. USAA, for example, allows customers to transfer money, review their products through their mobile
Initially, one of my questions before going to the library was a broad questing dealing with the subject of refugees in the wake of the refugee crisis due to the Syrian war and the other ongoing predicaments in the middle east. This set the mentality for which I went about my research and journey to my first source. As I looked at the different primary sources I noticed that one of the documents was a report about the refugee crisis, which the United States faced during World War II due to influx of Jewish individuals seeking asylum from the year of Hitlerism. I though the specific primary source was very interesting because it dealing with the same broad issue, but with a different ethnic group and in a different time period.
I used these databases in order to find a higher valued scholarly article with academic merit. I used the same key terms from my previous article search in the online database at the library.
For one thing it is free to use GCU library for the articles versus paying the outside publisher for it. The GCU library has over 46000 full text Journals covering all the major academic subject. The majority of the resources are peer reviewed and scholarly. Utilizing the general internet can have you reading and citing information that is not scholarly or peer-reviewed. If for any reason information needs to be researched on the internet, However, the best thing to do is it make sure it is Authority- Scholarly material; Currency- Current on the information used; Objectively- resources; the information provided is good and clear; Accuracy-accurate free of errors and have cited information; relevancy; relevant to your assignment. If this is
The ability to find this information correctly and effortlessly is vital in doing research on products or technologies. The main aim of Internet established research is elevating the user’s capability to locate what they want, research what they want, and use the abundance of information gathered to make a well-informed decision whether or not to buy a certain product.
However, EBSCOhost does not provide the option to the researcher for searching related and suggested information for a certain keyword which is a crucial limitation for them as every researcher prefers to get the option of searching for related researches. The search results contain relevant information and materials but the quantity is significantly low. The one-click citation option for individual research material is missing which may be annoying to the academic researchers at certain times. The database search of ProQuest is more efficient than EBSCOhost in all these respects but it is not free from limitations. As the number of materials in the search results is relatively more, the researcher has to efficiently sort the results to find the relevant information. This is quite difficult for me or anyone too in the results page. The option of full-text view is missing in some of the materials, which is not observed in the EBSCOhost search results.
When you think of a researcher you think of a scientist doing an experiment. I feel like that is the same as a research paper just without the experiment. So, in a research paper it’s your own interpretation or evaluation or argument. Meaning, you use everything that you personally know and have researched about that topic. When I am assigned a research paper the first thing I do is look it up online to understand more about it. At that point, I try to figure out what is worth talking about in the paper or figure out what I can argue to get my point across. As for library databases, I never used them once because I use technology. I can give a detailed report on the assignment with the correct amount of research and citations.
The name of the research database: This is the name of the research database…EBSCO database. http://library.chamberlain.edu/Databases. Additionally, there are multiple databases that can be found in the EBSCO database. One is not short of information.
One feature which I found exceptionally helpful on the Vodafone website was its search feature. Located in the top right hand corner of the screen the search feature allows users to automatically locate what they’re looking for. For example when you type in “blackberry” into the search bar, you are returned with three options. These options are to see the full range of blackberry’s available in the online shop, a special offer on a specific blackberry and an FAQ and support centre on blackberry.
In many developing countries it's common for a person to have a mobile phone but not a bank account. In fact, more than 1 billion people fit this description, and the number is only likely to increase. To that end, many companies are considering how to give residents access to banking services via their handsets. The GSM Association predicts that by 2012, nearly 300 million of the previously "unbanked" will be using some form of mobile banking.
Citibank had designed its own mobile banking software that can be downloaded and installed on more than 100 handsets over any carrier’s network
