Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Policy,Gestapo and the S.S.
Working with Hitler is a tough job, especially thinking of his propaganda. This was Joseph Goebbels job. The S.S. was a group forced to obey Hitler. Gestapo was part of this group. He changed Germany into a harsh national socialist country.
Joseph Goebbels was born October twenty-ninth, 1897, in Rheydt Germany (Joseph Paul 1). He had a limp for his left foot, there are many myths about it. Like he was born with clubfoot or that it was caused in war. These rumors were spread my his enemies (Pearce 14). Goebbels went to college at Heidelberg University, where he got his doctorate of philosophy. He had joined the army for three short months, in 1917 (Adams 35)
Joseph has had many jobs. These included writing, journalism, speaking, a propagandist, and a war criminal (Joseph Paul 1). He worked for the Nazi party. He was also the minister of propaganda and enlightenment (The German Reichstag 11). This lasted 12 years (!933-!945) (Adams 35).
Propaganda was the Nazi’s motivation. There are many forms of propaganda, including, newspapers, journals, pamphlets, etc (Kaplan 12). Joseph Goebbels was a propagandist (Adams 9). He thought propaganda has no method. Propaganda is in the mind, is what Goebbels thought (Adams15).
Goebbels was Hitler’s propaganda chief. He made Hitler novels, poetry, etc ( Evans 9).
Hitler
The SS and Gestapo (secret police) acting under the orders of Himmler, made terror a regular occurrence and a matter of state policy. Any sort of opponents were beaten and regularly thrown
Propaganda is information of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote a political cause or point of view. Hitler was able to use propaganda successfully throughout his reign as leader to shine light on his views, the biggest one being anti-Semitism. The Nazi party spread their propaganda through art, music, theatre, films, books, radio, educational materials and the press. Hitler used propaganda as a way of persuading German people into prejudice. Propaganda was used
Gestapo, was a German secret police force, which was created in 1933 after Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany.
Some people might not thinks the SS police and Gestapo had a very big job but when they had to find all the Jewish by Hitler's orders it was like a big game
Nya: Well sir the purpose of the Gestapo was to cause destruction which persecuted Germans, and opponents of the regime, and Jews. Later the Gestapo had a role in carrying out the Nazi 's “Final Solution”. When the Gestapo was told to guard the ghettos they had to impose labor, causing starving, and disease in an effort to kill many Jews that inhabited the ghettos
The “Final Solution” that the SS had fashioned became known as the Holocaust, which was designed to ultimately exterminate the Jewish people, and this played a great role in defining the SS. The two main subdivisions of the SS handled different issues, the Allgemeine-SS dealt with more political and racial matters while the Waffen-SS mainly ran the concentration camps. Once the Allies had made their way towards Germany, many of the SS soldiers and officials managed to escaped, causing the military wing to shrink until it disbanded. The Schutzstaffel was designed to aid top officials in the Nazi party, and the structure of the group consisted of two main divisions, and yet the “Protective Echelon” ended along with the Axis powers. The SS began as the bodyguard for the Nazi party, but as time passed, it grew and
The SS, or Schutzstaffel, played a variety of roles before and during World War II, showing their loyalty to Hitler and patriotism. From their beginning as personal bodyguards of about eight men, to being an elite organization with police units and special forces, these “men in black” used their power to become the most powerful men in Germany. The SS proceeded with mass killings and watched over concentration camps. They did Hitler’s “dirty work.” In 1929, Heinrich Himmler took control of the SS as Reichsfuhrer. Himmler was the second most powerful man in Germany during World War II. Given overall responsibility for the security of the Nazi empire, Himmler was the key and senior Nazi official responsible for conceiving and overseeing
The SS were the second most powerful force in Germany, and only had one boss to look up to, which just happened to be Adolf Hitler. Therefore, it was divided into lower and higher respects, and side branches that seemed to have no connection to the SS government. Yet, all of these combinations of people looking up to people, and having more authority over others lead the SS officers to believe they had the authority to perform the genocide and not be questioned. According to the article, “The SS: Background and Overview,” on Jewish Virtual Library, the SS was divided into two main groups, the Allgemeine-SS and the Waffen-SS. The Allgemeine-SS dealt with local police matters and dealt with public racism. The Waffen-SS were known as the combat or army of Nazi Germany. They
The roles of the SS,SA and the Gestapo are going to be revealed . These positions are all played in the Holocaust from 1929 to 1945. There was a very high role of cruelty and death taking in all three positions. Each played a role as for taking either a Jew’s life or anyone else that was considered undesirable. There will be over a million deaths just of these three positions because of the role played for the Nazi Party in Germany between that period of time involving World War 2. I
The Gestapo were considered the nazi’s “machine of terror” in my eyes they were much more than that. They were some of the best officers and non - commissioned officers to make a force that was feared throughout all of germany as well as austria. The reason I think these guys were some of the best is because they did not take kindly to anyone trying to make an attempt on the blitzkrieg or on the fuhrer. They were nicknamed hitler’s boogeymen because they would drag people out of their beds and interrogate them after they would interrogate they would execute they did not take any chances especially with the rebels. The Gestapo was the most terrifying organization since the secret plans for lebensraum. These men were amongst the most elite
The Gestapo had various different aims throughout the years of Hitler’s Third Reich however their main purpose (according to a law passed in 1936) was to “investigate and suppress all anti-state tendencies” and to continue creating a pure Aryan Race. The Gestapo purged minorities, political opponents and even ordinary Germans.
Gestapo’s were a very bad group, they never listened to others when they needed help, they never helped any german citizens, they arrested people for no reasons and they put them into “protective custody.” They lied and crossed over the law for them.
. Working Thesis Statement: Although there is evidence to state that the Catholic Church in Germany was apathetic to the damages caused the Nazi Policies, during the latter part of the Second World War the Catholic attitudes towards the Nazis changed from adherence to public disapproval.
One of the major reasons in which West Germany developed national police was to cope up with the ghost of Nazi. Apparently, the atrocities that had been committed by the ruthless regime under the control of Hitler created a state of paranoia and xenophobia among the citizens of West Germany. The cruel acts of the secret police in the Nazi regime continued to haunt the West Germans even after the downfall of Nazi and Hitler. To counter this feeling, the authority of West German saw it fit to build a national police force that subscribed to a complete different human school of thought compared to the secret police of Nazi
Joseph Goebbels was born on october 29, 1897 in Rheydt Germany. Both parents were catholic with modest family backgrounds. His father, Fritz was a factory clerk; his mother Katharina was ethnically Dutch. Goebbels had five siblings, Konrad, Hans, Maria, Elisabeth and Maria. Goebbels published a pamphlet of his family tree to refute the rumor that his grandmother had any kind of Jewish background. During childhood, Goebbels suffered from ill health which included inflammation of the lungs, also a deformed right foot which turned inwards, due to a congenital deformity, it was thicker and shorter than his left foot. He underwent a failed operation to correct it just prior to starting grammar school. Goebbels had to wear metal brace also a special
