NBCUniversal is a large US entertainment and media company with many varying divisions, and is one of the two primary companies now owned by Comcast. The chief executive officer, Stephen Burke created the successful and effective Symphony tool, to essentially ensure that the priorities of the company would be given the most attention and support; making the big, bigger, in order to maximize profits. Their divisions include broadcast television, cable networks, filmed entertainment, and parks, and resorts. Every year the company rates their projects as gold, silver, or bronze status. Those that receive the gold priority are predicted to bring in the most revenue and receive the most support from the company. Under Burke’s vision, all divisions are encouraged to work together in a sort of symphony, under the single conductor of NBCUniversal. Their goal is to prioritize, trade favors, and cooperate as a single unit to prop the most important projects as high as possible, in order for the company as a whole to be most profitable (Elberse). …show more content…
Now utilizing tools like Vox, Buzzfeed Facebook, Youtube, Periscope, and Snapchat, NBCUniversal is strengthening their efforts to reach their audiences where ever they go, at all times of the day (Importance). This Symphony marketing strategy has been proven so successful that other companies, like Disney, 20th Century Fox, Chase Bank, and Microsoft are essentially renting the use of Symphony to promote their own projects with NBCUniversal’s many platforms (Ember). Comcast’s acquisition of NBCUniversal has proved to be a great strength for the company’s operations. Comcast initially acquired a 51 percent stake of NBCUniversal in 2009. In addition to paying GE over $6.5 billion in cash, Comcast contributed about $7.25 billion worth of assets to the joint venture. Falling under its former business called Comcast Content, these assets included several regional sports networks, as well as popular cable channels such as E!, Versus, and the Golf Channel. In 2013, Comcast purchased the remaining 49 percent stake from General Electric for $16.7 billion. A separate deal also allowed Comcast to gain control of NBCU’s New York City headquarters at 30 Rockefeller Center, as well as CNBC’s headquarters in New Jersey (“How Comcast Stole,” 2013). Throughout the process of this large acquisition, Comcast prudently followed many regulatory conditions and promised that it would not abuse its power and position.
To tackle the housing affordability, first of all, it is crucial to lift the supply of housing as it will release the pressure on the housing price. Nevertheless, the supply of housing is inelastic as it requires an adequate fund, time, approval from the Government. Besides, the housing system is heavily dependent on the private sector. Thus, the Government should provide initiatives for housing providers to shift the supply of houses in the market. Australia would follow the policies from other countries to tackle the housing affordability. However, it has to fit in the Australian context. These policies might work well in other places but it does not mean that it will be applicable in Australia. The Singapore Government has a public

Television news exists to inform and entertain the public regarding local, national, and international news. A variety of news broadcasts are available for all subcultural classes to enable them to be knowledgeable concerning sport, weather, finance, and general issues from around the world, using this easily accessible and logical medium. Two of the most well-known services are Channel Seven and the Australian Broadcasting Commission (ABC). The Channel Seven Network gains funds from commercial revenue and concentrates on providing news that is appealing to the general public and entertaining. High ratings are crucial to Channel Seven as it is privately owned and heavily relies on the advertisement shown in between news segments. ABC news is owned and financed by the Australian Government, therefore high ratings are not relied on and their focus is on providing worldwide news with accomplished facts. These factors affect the content and perspective, which are tailored to specific target audiences. Each news source has a distinct audience based on the variation of the purpose, structure, style, and language to accommodate the requirements of the Australian population. When journalism is chosen as a career, society tends to have a stereotypical image of a group of photographers chasing celebrities. If not, then an image of an anonymous person writing biased comments about current affairs, trying to manipulate the truth. However, their real work earns them every cent they deserve unlike the heartless lawyers who earns millions for defending criminals. The work of journalism, on the hand, consists of interviewing and attending events in all conditions in order to gather news and information for public interest. This is followed by further research into the background information then assessing suitability of reports and articles for public. The process is much more difficult than expected, especially with
It was a crisp and clear winter morning and down at the training field was platoon #155 working on battle positions and communication. This is where our character is starting out their career as a soldier and is working to fight on the front lines. They were doing their job right in a way but no one else was doing it like that. So to everyone else they looked quite stupid and were given looks like they were a headless bird running around. It's like they think that people don’t notice. Most people would think all of the platoon was like this because it was a recruit training group and wasn’t a very great one either. Though something felt different, even though it looked weird it worked better than what was in the books. Based on the
Their marketing is already very successful and creating this growth opportunity would only require a few changes.
