I can't stress enough what a pleasure it's been to work with Gary over the past few years. Gary was the point person for NBTY, one of our largest Clients. He was an integral part in transitioning, optimizing and maintaining our relationship with his whole team. His excellent communication skills responses and followup helped our teams achieve a high level of success in meeting NBTY's needs as a client. Over the last 100 years, the underpinning concepts in the fields of psychology and counseling were wrought. Within this period, these concepts have transformed and evolved from somewhat crude conceptions of the psyche toward more holistic interventions and approaches. As the profession continues to move forward, adaptations of the original theorists regarding the nature of man and the development of personality continue to emerge. These adaptations, along with the integration of new concepts and ideas, continue to contribute to the field. The world would be a lot better of a place if everyone got along and knew how to communicate effectively with one another. There are several different personalities at any given workplace. “According to typological theory, each of us is born with a predisposition for certain personality preferences” (Kroeger pg11 para4). The Myers-Briggs Personality assessment is the most effective way to determine one’s personality type. The test uses different markers to determine how one is stimulated and exerts energy, gather information, make decisions, and living structure. At the completion of the test one will get personality type that is comprised of four letters. The test was developed based off of Carl Jung and Isabel Briggs-Myers’ psychological research on personalities and later dissected into Otto Kroeger’s book, “Type Talk at Work.” This book gives one the tools to determine what one’s personality is and then goes into great detail about one’s strengths and weaknesses and how it applies to to real life situations. My personality description is ENFP; Extravert, iNtuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving. The following are details regarding and ENFP personality type examining a holistic view including personal and work place interactions. Everything is based on insights gained from real world experiences and interactions.
Undergraduate students enrolled in introductory personality psychology courses at The Pennsylvania State University from the Altoona and University Park campuses will be recruited for participation. All students enrolled in the courses will be required to complete the procedure for this study to earn a grade in the course, however, they will be required to give their consent to use their data in the present study in exchange for extra credit in the course. Those who do not consent to use their data will be omitted from the study and will be offered an alternative course assignment to earn the same amount of extra credit as those who opted to participate. Each participant’s age, race, and gender will be collected for use for comparison

I need to concur and differ about what racial personality from Tatum. Most folks would prefer not to make dread towards their children in light of the fact that the subject may turn the wrong way. The use of assessment tools is an intricate part of the counseling process. Instruments are not only used by clinical counselors, but they can also be utilized by career counselors and school counselors for a variety of reasons. Counselors employ assessment testing to determine factors such aptitude, achievement, stress level, personality domain, and to assess a client’s issue or level or functioning. Assessment instruments within counseling can also be used to provide the necessary treatment plans or academic help that is needed by the individuals who are being tested. For the purposes of this paper the NEO Personality Inventory (NEO-PI-3) will be examined. The NEO Personality Inventory (NEO-PI-3) is a personality inventory that has been used to test the big five factors of personality which include the areas of neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness. Other factors such as the NEO-PI-3 test description, reliability, and ease of administration will also be discussed.
The NEO- PI-R is a self -administered questionnaire based on the Five Factor Model. The NEO PI-R is considered to be a concise measure of the five factor domains of personality (Costa & McCrae, 19921). It contains six traits or facets in each of the five domains. The domains are Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness, and Conscientiousness (Costa & McCrae, 19921). These domains help to provide an assessment of a normal adult personality. The test consists of 240 items and three validity items (Costa & McCrae, 19921). The test requires at least a sixth grade reading level. Included in the NEO PI-R test manual is the NEO Five Factor Inventory. This inventory was validated in the four studies conducted by Holden, Wasylkiw, Starzyk, Book and Edwards (2006) in their article about the construct validity of the big four personality clusters.
As human beings, we different from one another. We are created with a lot of character traits. We all can gain knowledge about our own personalities, we develop our perceptive about strengths and weaknesses, and clarify what we truly value as individuals. The Myers Brigg personality assessment classified me as an Introvert, Sensing, Feeling, and Perceiving (ISFP) personality type. Results showed slightly Introvert 16 %, sensing 12%, feeling 19%, and perceiving 3%. Throughout this paper I will analyze the diverse parts of my own personality traits and how those traits have effected both my personal and my working environment.
Through this assessment I have found that I have more of a Type B personality. I have also found that there are three different Types, A, B, C. Upon further research I have found that there is a lot more to it and it could be a bit confusing. The test I took says that Type B is a cross between C and A. When reading more about them it seams they are completely different. Type A personalities are known to be a bit high strung and stressed often. They try to do to many things at once along with setting un-realistic goals. This would cause higher blood pressures and over time could lead to serious health issues.
