Eating healthy, such as fruits and vegetables, can have can many positive effects on humans. While eating junk food, such as sugar and starch, can have many negative effects on the body and mind. Eating healthy can increase productivity, enhance mood and mental well-being, reduce stress and help humans life a longer life. Productivity in extremely important in everyday life, whether it’s a job or school, productivity can determine how much someone gets paid, or how well they perform in school. Eating and committing to a healthy diet can increase productivity. According to the article by Lacie Glover, “One 2012 study published by Population Health Management found that eating an unhealthy diet puts [people] at a 66% increased risk of productivity loss” (Source 1, 3) This study shows just how big the impact of eating healthy is on everyday life. Although, there are many things that can decrease productivity. Glover says, “A study in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine found that an unhealthy diet represented the highest risk for low productivity…” (Source 1, 3) There are 19 other factors that can inhibit productivity, including lack of exercise, chronic pain, and financial instability. (Source 1, 3) However, out of all of these factors, unhealthy eating proved to be the most detrimental towards productivity.
