There are so many different things and people to watch when observerving a specific community for analysis. I chose my community observation to be during a high school football game. I will be discussing my observations of the community that I watched including demographics, ages of those at the game, and their possible socioeconomic class. I will also be describing the folkways, customs and mores observed. This paper will also express the forces influencing fashion, the fashion forms reflected by the wearers, and the fundamental attitudes of dress that were observed by the people at the football game.
Known around the nation as the Negro Wall Street, the community of Greenwood was the wealthiest black community at that time. African Americans moved to the Greenwood area of Tulsa to take advantage of the opportunities that were available to them.
By 1790 Burlington County had the largest population of free blacks in state of New Jersey, which has been accredited to the number of Quakers who settled here. Right in our backyard are landmarks dating and preserving history of Underground Railroad Tunnels, basements hide-away, and a multitude of other rich history. My significant other had the pleasure to interview Burlington County Historian, Mrs. Louise, owner of the Underground Railroad Museum at the Smithsville Park in Eastampton, New Jersey. Her knowledge and depth of understanding of the rich history of Burlington County, as she ages in wisdom is astounding. The importance on knowing the history that lies dormant in our backyards, I believe are major steps to opening doors for the next generation.

The name of the agency that I intern was the Neighborhood of Legal Services of Los Angeles (NLSLA). The center inside the Pomona court house is called the Self- Help Legal Access Center. The type of work that is done at NLSLA Self Help Center is divorce, parental rights, child custody and visitation, divorce and paternity responses, divorce and paternity judgments, evictions, name change, civil harassment, guardianship, and domestic violence restraining orders. Also, Pomona has a program called DASH (Domestic Abuse Self Help), where we assist litigants with domestic violence restraining orders, and provide information on shelters, counseling, and other social services available to victims of domestic violence.
Ley and Cybriwsky (1974) make the distinction between graffiti artists, gang graffiti, and graffiti present in ethnic neighbourhoods within Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Graffiti artists or “graffiti kings” value style, motivation, and inaccessible locations. Gang graffiti indicates gang activity, gang territory, or general content specific to gang involvement. The graffiti found in ethnic neighbourhoods, with large ethnic diversity, identifies tension zones that are a result of various social changes in the composition of the neighbourhood.
Too often we are surrounded by negative thoughts, words and images, the goal of my project is to surround our community with positive messages. We are a community that thrives on positivity, kindness and support of each other. Fill a Sidewalk Day would be our community’s day to fill sidewalks with positive messages to lift up all our citizens. Through the use of the colorful chalk, all homes and businesses would fill the sidewalk in front of their location with messages of positivity and encouragement. This annual tradition would take place in late spring or early summer when our sidewalks are clean and dry for a extended period of time. We would not need to worry about cleaning up these inspirational quotes because the rain will wash it away
Prior to relocating, I lived in San Diego, CA. The neighborhood I lived in was Clairemont which was a very diverse neighborhood. We lived in an apartment complex, but small houses were located directly across the street. There were also larger homes within the neighborhood, schools, and a large park. This neighborhood was located a few minutes away from popular beaches, had stores, small shops, and restaurants. It was also located within a short commute to two separate major freeways, and short commutes to several military bases. Clairemont had a high walkability score as a result of this and the ease to public transportation made daily life for the residents ideal.
Many adults in their 50s, 60s, and better are interested in moving into a 55 plus community. They've become quite popular, and for good reason: the low-maintenance lifestyle provides seniors with the ability to (lets seniors) have an active, exciting retirement without having to worry about the maintenance of a property and the distance of city-living entertainment. But that's not all there is to it. There are several benefits to living in a retirement community.
Change is something that everyone deals with in their lives, and at times, people crave change. Change, even in the subtlest of ways, can help people move on from something or help them feel as though they are starting fresh. The sense of change and change itself bring a feeling of excitement that everyone loves. In my life, there has always been a place that allows change to be brought into my life and always makes me more confident. Although this place is at times written off as superficial and unimportant, I find that it is a place of new found confidence, creativity, and reinvention.
In review of the data collected for this assignment, I have gained greater insight into the population I serve. Much of the data simply reinforced my assumptions, but others; like the information on race, has given me a better understanding about the population I serve and has given me greater insight into the “social tension and conflict” that appears to be at the forefront of concerns for many of my students (Moore, Bagin & Gallagher, 2013, p.18). Race is always an issue for many of my students. After reviewing the census data I noticed that most of the population identifies themselves as one race, and the racial divide is almost 50/50 between blacks and whites. There is also a constant reference to skin color among

A neighborhood expert? No, it doesn't mean being the smartest guy or gal in the neighborhood - it's far more valuable than that.
Homeowners Associations (HOAs) are generally nonprofit organizations, but their complicated financial and legal operations can occasionally cause homeowners significant financial pain in the form of unanticipated due increases and special assessments. Sadly, only a small number of home buyers know how to assess HOA documents ahead of time, which could help minimize the considerable risks.
