Introduction
I believe the brain is the most important organ in the body. The brain regulates or commands others organs in the body. Therefore, the career I picked to pursued is a neuropsychology. Neuropsychology is an important, because they understand how brain works and how to treat it. Imagine having a brain concussion. Without a neuropsychology we will not be able to understand our body’s or recover from any brain injury. According the Careers in Psychology, “Neuropsychology helps doctors understand how brain malfunctions occur, and what happens when they do. By understanding these neurological problems, doctors can help possibly treat and prevent them” (Neuropsychology Careers). Ultimately, neuropsychology is an important job in our

Neuropsychologist work with “people of all ages dealing with patients who have had traumatic brain injury, strokes, toxic and metabolic disorders, tumors and neurodegenerative diseases” (Your Journey Into Psychology). In that case I’m going to be talking about what is required to be a neuropsychology, what is the work place, the salary, the roles, and what is a typical day in the job.
Neuropsychologists work place might vary, because it has different careers to chose from. They can work in hospitals, clinics, and physician’s office. In fact, some neuropsychology can choose to work “in private practice, and treat patients in their offices or work as consultants” (Neuropsychology Careers). Besides this, neuropsychologist that are concern more in research are more likely to work in government research facilities. They are called Research Neuropsychologist. As previously stated, neuropsychologists have a flexible workplace or healthcare setting to chose

According to an interview with Clinical Neuropsychologist, I found that the job has flexible hour. Usually day time. A medical Student stated that he gets to his clinic around eight A.M and ends around five P.M a clock. This gets to show how accommodated the hours are. However, neuropsychologist work can have patient interaction or no interaction at all depending on what type of career. For example, a clinic neuropsychologist works with patient in therapies or evaluating their conditions. In the other hand, a researcher only studies in a lab and studies new information about the brain. To get my point across, a typical day for neuropsychologist can be stratifying because of the flexible hours or because a neuropsychologist has different

Each and every one of these skills is just as important as one or the other. By having all these skills it will help To become successful in helping your clients. There is a lot of education involved in becoming an aspiring neuropsychologist. The first step is to earn a bachelors degree which is four years long, after that you complete a masters degree of another two years, then the last and final step is to earn a PHD or PsyD which can take another two to four years. This typically involves assessing and diagnosing patients. This
The work environment can differ depending on whether you work in a hospital, clinic or independent practice. They have less independence than if you have your own practice or work in a clinic. In hospitals Physicians work with a team of doctor and nurses. Hospitals are also known to be very fast paced and efficient. In a independent practice or clinic you have a small team of nurses and other doctors compared to if you worked in a hospital. Almost all physicians work full time. If you worked in a hospital you

Neurological disorders and psychological disorders are very similar. In both cases, the patient hopes for recovery. Some will live normal lives after, others will manage, an unfortunate few will die. Psychologists and neurologists hope for best case scenarios, they treat their patient as well as they can with the knowledge they have. Sometimes this is not enough.
Neurologist: My Client sees a Neurologist because of her Narcolepsy. They Give an accurate diagnosis and treats disorders to do with the brain. They also give support about the condition and refers my client to other professionals that will be able to help and gives results and information with other professionals that help my Clients condition. Seeing the Neurologist has affected my Client's condition physically. Her condition and health has improved significantly due to the medication, support and advice that she is given.
They perform surgical procedures to treat and cure a variety of conditions such as tumors, blood clots, and traumatic injuries. This career is physically and intellectually demanding and requires excellent hand dexterity and hand-eye coordination and these surgeons must be capable of remaining calm and focused in life-or-death situations ("How to Become A Neurosurgeon: Education and Career Roadmap"). Most neurosurgeons work "on call" and do not have a specific routine for a typical workday. However, based on a standard "yield" of surgical cases from clinic, and a typical pace of clinic, a typical week might look similar to this: two days in the operating room, two to three full days in clinic, and rounds: in the morning, and in the evening, whatever time left goes to administration, meetings, QA functions etc. (citation). Likewise, according to an interview with a neurosurgeon, they perform surgeries three days a week and check up on patients and complete papers two days a week
A neuroscientist is trained in researching the structure and function of the brain and nervous system. They have to specialize in cell chemistry and biology, brain anatomy, cognition, genetics, or experimental psychology. Many neuroscientists use number of tools in order to learn about the brain, nervous system, and behavioral patterns. They mainly use computers in order to interpret results from studies they find. Neuroscientists collaborate with one another in order to conduct sensitive, complicated studies. They work together to design materials, apply for grants ,acquire new materials, and even recruit volunteer test subject. I think this type of work would interest me and I would be able to accomplish these things. I find interest in the brain and how it functions; therefore researching the brain and its functions would interest me the most.
The hours a psychologist works and their place of employment vary based on their selected career field. Those who have created their own practice typically have their own office and set their own hours. Usually, they offer night and weekend hours to accommodate their clients. Psychologists who work in hospitals or nursing homes don’t have set schedules and often work night and/or weekend shifts while those who are employed in schools and clinics usually work only during the weekday. Psychologists employed for the Federal or State Government, like an Operational Psychologist for the Central Intelligence Agency, and in industry settings have structured schedules with known holidays. Their schedules typically only include Monday through Friday work weeks (Bureau of Labor Statistics).
Doctors treat a wide variety of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons. This interdisciplinary medical team may include medical professionals such as neurologists, psychiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, and urologists, and non-physician health professionals such as physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, vocational counselors, psychologists and social workers. Mental health professionals can provide counseling and with proper training, assessments; however, cannot prescribe medication such as a mental health counselor with a master’s degree and several years
I am determined to reach my goals, no matter how big or impossible they may seem to others. Sometimes people will try to push you down or try to provide obstacles to stop you from achieving your goals, and sometimes you just need to learn to overcome no matter how high the odds are stacked against you. Or, worst case scenario, you have to learn to make sacrifices and cut the bad fruit off the tree if somebody or something is really getting you down. I want to become a Neurologist, and plenty of people have called me crazy already but that won’t stop me from pursuing it. Through enough hard work and determination, I will be able to reach my goal to become a Neurologist, a career that I would
Clinical psychology is just one of the many subfields that psychology has to offer. Those who choose to enter clinical psychology aim to help people with addiction, emotional stress, mental illness, or any other type of mental problems. Knowing what a clinical psychologist does in their practice is important in understanding their profession. A clinical psychologist's education is the most prominent part of their career; without it, they cannot be considered a psychologist. The process and requirements of employment for psychologists are scattered, varying from state to state, as well as their salary and where they may be employed. The future and growth of clinical psychology can only be
“Health psychologists may focus their skills further in sub specialties including pain management, health care reform, behavioral study and/or intervention, and health care reform”(careers). Health psychologist usually work with others to encourage healthy lifestyles and choices or with lobbyists to change policy on psychology. If i were to work with others then i would be helping people overcome obesity, addictions, and other bad habits that contribute to bad health. If i were to work with lobbyists i could do research to contribute to influence what policy are put in
Health psychology is a diverse career field; psychologists can be employed anywhere from hospitals to research to influencing health care. “Health psychologists… conduct clinical interviews and behavioral assessments. They may also participate in interventions with individuals or groups — for example, programs to help people reduce stress, quit smoking and avoid sedentary behaviors…They may study the causes of health problems and how to prevent them, or explore why certain groups don’t seek care when they need it. They may also help patients understand and come to terms with a diagnosis, or follow a treatment regimen in order to increase the probability of their full recovery (American Psychology Association). Health psychologists have a broad spectrum of people to treat as they treat people with mental disorders and create treatment plans for people; health psychologists need to understand all parts of psychology to provide effective care for their patients because health psychologists research, test people, and help their patients gain skills so they can better take care of themselves.
For example, an out-patient psychiatrist, who has his/her patients schedule appointments and come in on a regular basis, has a much different job than that of a psychiatrist working in a rehabilitation center or hospital. While the job description may vary from setting to setting, the education required to be work in any mental health is incredibly difficult.
The neurologist must diagnostic a patient and examine their neurological disorders. They will have to give the patient a series of test to confirm that they have neurological disorders. Then the next step is treatment, which is actually the role of a neurosurgeon. A neurologist will make sure the patient is doing well and will inform doctors and nurses about what needs to be done. Some neurologist will actually research about nervous and brain issues and come up with new brain treatments. And of course, this field will change over time so neurologist must stay on top of new issues and find more
