The field of study that is responsible for researching how the brain works is called Neuroscience, they are inspired to try to decipher the brain's command of all its diverse functions. A neurologist not to be confused with a neurobiologist, is a doctor that treats disorders in the brain. Neuroscientists study the nervous system of vertebrates and invertebrates. We will be analyzing a vertebrate, the human brain.
The main organ of the nervous system is the brain. It is enclosed in a protective bone structure, the skull. The task of this delicate organ is to regulate the body's interaction with the environment and control all internal processes of the body itself, conscious and unconscious. The adult human brain weighs approximately 1,400
The brain can be considered the most complex organ in the body and the centrepiece of the nervous system. Although the brain works as a unified whole, neuroscientists have identified areas within it that perform specific functions. This makes the brain interconnected by three different layers: the central core, the limbic system, and the cerebral cortex. All of which contain structures that regulate everyday life and psychological function.
The nervous system is one of the body’s complex functions that contain a network of cells and nerves that transmit signals from the brain and spinal cord to different areas of the body. It is categorized into two groups; the central nervous system which is made up of the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system which contains the body’s nervous tissue and is where neurologic responses occur. Homeostasis, which is the process in which thermoregulation is maintained, also happens in this area.
The nervous system is one of the most important organ systems in the body. It is in charge of all of the things that happen within the body. Being responsible for receiving sensory input from internal and external stimuli, integrating and processing information, and generating output, it would be hard to survive without a nervous system; however, there are different types of nervous systems in various organisms. Humans, cnidarians, flatworms, and annelids all have very diverse nervous systems. There are similarities and differences in each of these beings.
According to Georgetown University Medical Center, the study of neuroscience is what the nervous system does, how it develops and the structure. The focus is mainly on the impact of the brain on cognitive and behavior functions (Nordqvist, 2017). Neuroscience looks at how the nervous system reacts to people who have neurological, neurodevelopmental, psychiatric disorders (Nordqvist, 2017). Researchers Combs-Orme, Egan, and Neely-Barnes mention that neuroscience can enrich what we understand of the brains role within human development and behavior. New perceptions into “biology’s contributions to our multilayered biopsychosocial model” can be provided by neuroscience (Comb-Orme et al., 2011). The support
The nervous system dominates and controls your body in a way that you cannot escape. Everyday the central nervous system transmits thousands of messages to and from the brain. The spinal cord acts as the conduit for communication between the brain and the body; in addition it protects part of the central nervous system from injury.
The anatomy of the nervous system is called neuroanatomy. Which consist of two areas having special construction and abilities. This is basic formation of the nervous system which controls the way we think and act as a source of inside instructions on direction to our surroundings as human beings. The primary nervous system is developed from a basic hollow stem and that stem grows in size and disburses into other areas which would be your head with backbone and the nerves with sensors throughout the body. The head is made up of two cerebral hemispheres protected by a hard shell which is surrounded with a fluid that keeps your blood stream separated from it. The head and backbone is the
A neuroscientist is trained in researching the structure and function of the brain and nervous system. They have to specialize in cell chemistry and biology, brain anatomy, cognition, genetics, or experimental psychology. Many neuroscientists use number of tools in order to learn about the brain, nervous system, and behavioral patterns. They mainly use computers in order to interpret results from studies they find. Neuroscientists collaborate with one another in order to conduct sensitive, complicated studies. They work together to design materials, apply for grants ,acquire new materials, and even recruit volunteer test subject. I think this type of work would interest me and I would be able to accomplish these things. I find interest in the brain and how it functions; therefore researching the brain and its functions would interest me the most.
Our bodies spend countless amounts of energy fighting off and defending ourselves from harmful diseases. Diseases come in many shapes and sizes, vastly affecting the systems of our body. One of the most important systems i our body is the nervous system. The nervous system is composed of a complex network of neurons which enables our bodies to incorporate information from the outside world, integrate, and perceive that information. In addition, the nervous system allows us to act through motor control. Fundamentally, the nervous system is vital to our understanding and ability to interact with the world.

The nervous system helps maintain homeostasis by controlling and regulating the other parts of the body. A deviation from a normal set point act as a stimulus to a receptor, which sends nerve impulses to a regulating center in the brain. For example, “breathing is involuntary, the nervous system ensures that the body is getting much needed oxygen through breathing the appropriate amount of oxygen.” This shows that the nervous system plays a role in making sure that the breathing patterns of a human stays constant in order to maintain homeostasis. This system is the control center of the human body. The Control center sets the range of value to be maintained and is made up of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. The nervous system is important to the human body because its an organ system in charge of sending messages to and from the brain and spinal cord to and from all parts of the body. What helps send these messages are nerves, one or more bundles of fibers forming part of a system that conveys impulses of sensation, motion, etc, between the brain or spinal cord and other parts of the body. Nerves act as highways to carry signals between the brain and spinal cord and the rest of the body. The Central Nervous system is the complex of nerve tissues that controls the activities of the body, it consists of two parts: the brain and the spinal cord. The brain is arguably the most important organ in the human body. It controls and coordinates actions and reactions, allows us to think and feel enables us to have memories and feelings- all the things that makes us human. Three main parts of the brain is the forebrain, midbrain, hindbrain. The Forebrain consists of the cerebrum, thalamus, and hypothalamus, The Midbrain consists of the tectum and tegmentum, The Hindbrain is made of the cerebrum, pons and medulla, brainstem.
The nervous system in general is quite a complex and sophisticated system which is responsible for regulating and coordinating the body’s activities. The central nervous system consists of the brain and spinal cord, mainly responsible for gathering information and responds to any changes within environment.
Neuropsychology is another field in which both psychology and biology play a major role. Neuropsychology studies the structure and function of the brain as it relates to specific psychological processes and behaviors. It is a clinical and experimental field of psychology that aims to study, assess, understand and treat behaviors directly related to brain functioning. Neuropsychology studies and applies research to the functions and the dysfunctions of the brain and how they affect the body as well as the personality. This has helped us to not only define mental disorders and cognitive impairments, but to develop different treatment
The brain is the principal focus of psychologists (The Simpsons, 2014). As the central nervous system’s main organ, the brain monitors and regulates all the information from the body’s external and internal environment. Though complicated, Psychologists understand the brain’s structure and working mechanism (Films for the Humanities & Sciences (Firm), Films Media Group & Public Broadcasting Service (U.S.), 2011). There are various ways through which they study it and these, according to Heather Hall, (2014) include brain lessoning, brain staining, brain electronic recording and brain imaging.
Even though the brain is the major control center if the body, its job would not be possible without the spinal cord. The spinal cord is the major organ that helps information travel between the body and the brain. Nerves branch in the peripheral system from, either the brain stem or spinal cord, each nerve attaches to a specific area of the torso and limbs it 's responsible for communication to and from those regions. There are three very important
Neuroscience is the study of the nervous system; it also has to do with any or all sciences such as experimental psychology and neurochemistry. It focuses on the brain and the impact it has on cognitive functions and behavior. Neuroscience is also known as neural science, it helps us get a better understanding of what happens with people who have a neurological disorders. The three main goals for neuroscientist: first, to understand the human brain, second, to understand the central nervous system and be able to describe how it develops, matures, and maintains, third, to be able to understand neurological and psychiatric disorders and prevent them or cure them.
