Frankie is an active alert child who has difficulty sitting and holding his head up. Without the ability to hold a neutral posture this can cause an occlusion of his tracheostomy. I may also see decreased extension in his arms from stiffness in his joints, which will also affect his fine motor skills in his hands. Frankie may feel frustrated at times because his mind is telling him to try and sit up at this age but his body is not cooperating with him. Sitting up in a neutral position is one of the milestones that children around 10 months old start to achieve. Also, his Gastric reflux must be painful.
