Introduction :
I am extremely upbeat to impart my learnings on this course by means of this term project. I have attempted to abridge a significance of the vast knowledge that I picked up from this course, and my experience with my assignments and projects.
Project Management is the art of arranging, sorting out, spurring, and controlling resources to attain specific objectives. A project is a brief endeavor intended to deliver a unique product, service, attempted to meet extraordinary objectives and goals, commonly to achieve helpful change or included quality.
To summarize, there should be a framework or model which we can use to achieve both strategy formulation and execution excellence. The sequence of steps will help us implement a successful project management.
Step 1: Identify the unit for which a Project strategy is being developed. Understand the business statergy and the priorities and objectives.
Step 2: Define the Project planning and Project implementation
Step 3: Identify the key sources of competitive advantage (Business Strategy)
Step 4: Identify key organizational capabilities and cultural capabilities . Translate them how people are going to behave – How will people behave differently in future than they do today if those capabilities are executed at
Following the project plan as per the strategy and planning the activities as per the
A projects success and project managements success must be differentiated, as a project managements success can be measured by performance against quality, time and cost however a projects success can be measured by the overall projects objectives (Cooke-Davies 2002). The key criteria of a project discussed above is what the project management team and organisation together have set for the projects objective, which are the desired outcomes of the project from various aspects and stakeholders of an organisation. The following can be a standard for an organisation to follow to lessen the chance of project failure. Management must be engaged in the project and ready to support the needs of the project as top management have the resources, authority and power for implementation and as such can contribute and improve the project along the way. The project has clearly defined goals and directions with detailed specifications of the implementation process, client consultation with back and forth communication during the entire process and finally how the project is executed. Stakeholders also should agree upon success criteria of a project to ensure each stakeholders needs are met (Davis. K 2013).
The fourth step in the strategic process will include the implementation of strategies by forming projects. “The conceptual framework for strategy implementation lacks the structure and discipline found in strategy formulation. Implementation requires action and completing tasks” (Gray, Larson, 2008).
New Jersey Institute of Technology has always been my number one choice for school. They offered so much to students such as myself. For example, they have over 100 clubs and a many fraternities. Before I came to NJIT, I attended Bayonne high school in Bayonne, New Jersey. It was an amazing experience, one that I would have no regrets repeating. It’s the largest high school in Bayonne, my graduating class was over 700 students and the school in general has 3000 students. Being so large it had many opportunities that other high schools wouldn’t have. It had a team for every sport that you’ve ever heard of, and 20 additional ones that no one knows about. In addition, Bayonne offered a myriad of AP classes to students who met certain requirements, thus giving many opportunities to high school students to get a taste of college-level classes. So even from before I entered into the campus on the first day NJIT was already different, however, it is not different in a bad way.
According to Doctor Talley slide on Project management and also in line with Jack Meredith & Samuel j. Mantel, project management was defined as “The application of knowledge, skills tools and techniques to project activities to meet the project
Step #2 - Identify the Customer(s) for your product or service, and determine what they consider important i.e. Customer Requirements
Project management is managing the work to develop and innovate or even change within an existing operation. There are five steps in this management: Initiating the project, Planning and controlling all activities to keep the project on schedule, executing every phase of the projects process, monitoring/ controlling reviewing and regulating the progress and performance of all phases of the project, Closing process this is where all processes are finalized and completed to officially close the project out.
In step three the vision and strategy are developed. The vision is developed with the idea of where the company needs to go in order to succeed. Management will use the identified issues and opportunities in order to determine what actions to take. After that the strategy is formed in order to execute the vision. Now for the hard part, communicating the change vision.
When any organization undertakes a large-scale project, the first and most important component to ensure that the process runs smoothly and effectively is effective project management. Project management not only sets the tone for the overall project, but creates the plan and facilitates effective implementation. From the first meeting to plan the project to the last report written about the experience, project management is integral to project success.
Project management can then be defined as the use of certain skills and applications to effectively and efficiently achieve a project goal and improve an entity’s ability to perform in competing markets. (PMI, 2014).
• Project management is the coordinating effort to fulfill the goals of the project. • The project manager, as the leader of the project team, is responsible for this effort and its ultimate result.
Project management can be defined as a systematic way of dealing with a project from the start to the finish. The ultimate aim of project management is successful completion of projects within the specified time period and budget (Project drive, 2010). Project management can thus be understood as a responsibility to efficiently manage projects that will fulfill the goals and objectives of any organization by

Methodology is the function of selecting the objectives of the project and establishing the policies, procedures and programs necessary for achieving them. It involves planning for schedule development, budget development, project administration, leadership styles and conflict management. It is very important because project planning can eliminate or reduce uncertainty, improve efficiency of the operation, obtain a better understanding of the objective etc. The chapter will end with a questionnaire and analysis of the questionnaire.
The application of information, expertise, tools, and procedures to project activities to meet the project requirements is known as project management (PMBOK 2008). Alternatively, project management is the process in which projects are well-defined, planned, supervised, organized and conveyed such that the agreed features and requirements are fulfilled (APM BOK 2006).
