This paper explores the benefits offered at my organization. Yahoo provides a benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Disability. In addition, there are supplemental and voluntary benefits that have become “industry standard” offerings based on larger competing organizations. (Levin-Epstein, 2011) Working in the technology industry, the recruitment and retention efforts drive benefit offerings to be highly competitive. This requires consistent review of turnover causation in correlation to accessible benefits. Examples of newly recognized benefit offerings that are now considered ‘industry standard’ are adoption assistance, tuition reimbursement, and sabbaticals.
