Nicki exclaims, “That they were just planning a wedding, Caucasian doves.” Saying that they wanted to take their relationship to the next level with a symbol of doves which means love and happiness. Minaj ends her 1st verse by murmuring, “You was just telling your mans that you hate the clubs; now we in the crying game heart laced with slugs.” She’s basically saying that they were at a point that they felt as if it was no need to go clubbing when they had each other until they broke up and entering the crying game with their hearts broken or lace with slugs. Minaj uses a form of rhyme again with clubs and slugs. Slugs would be another word for bullets and their heart broken means it has been

Every song can make one feel the emotion of the song. Depending on the song whether it is “Before He Cheats” or “Just A Dream” will show different emotions. In the song “Before He Cheats,” “I took a Louisville Slugger to both headlights, a hole in all 4 tires… Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats.” This emotion you can say is anger, she is also heartbroken but past the crying and sad part of it but to the point of anger and hatred. This article discusses the scandal Justin Bieber was involved in with Mariah Yeater back in 2011. She had been said to be the main focus of the song due to her accusations of being impregnated by music artist, Justin Bieber. The theme of this song also highly resembles Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean,” not just by the way it sounds, but from the outlook of the situation. Each song incorporates a problem with a girl who is in search of their attention. Some think it’s for the money or fame but Justin later states in the song how she might not even be after any of that. Maybe all this time she just wanted him to like her.
The song tells of an emotional breakup and the emotions shown in the song are sadness and anger. After the breakup, she emotionally was torn apart and continuously will want him. Miley Cyrus shows credibility by being who she is as a much known singer. The sound of the song automatically starts with high and fast beats which sets the intense scene for the song. By the middle of the song, the sound drops to a much slower beat but then back up for the final chorus. “Wrecking Ball” was written to the guy who caused her to feel the way she did. In the first line of the song, she uses the words “clawed” and “chained” which are not normal words used for people in a relationship. She then says she fell under his “spell” meaning that she was into the relationship more of then him. She also relate the death of their relationship to “we’re ashes in the ground.” Within the entire song when she sung the word “wreck,” it was emphasized and had a longer beat. The last two lines of “Wrecking Ball” was “yeah, you, you wreck me,” repeated twice also for emphasis. The music video begins the song zoomed into Miley Cyrus’ face almost like looking into her and her feelings. By the second chorus and the increased beat she begins swinging on a ball, creating a visual of her feelings and her literally coming in like a wrecking ball and breaking his

Beyoncé is a singer known for her fantastic voice, rejuvenating dance moves, and most importantly her empowering throughout her songs. These skills are no different in her song “Pretty Hurts.” Released on June 10, 2014, from her self-titled album Beyoncé, the song written by Sia, Joshua “Ammo” Coleman, and Beyoncé herself resonates its empowering message with people of all different genders, body types, and races. This song, in particular, is targeted towards women, especially young women who are still developing. Beyoncé gained popularity when she started off in an all-female group named Destiny’s Child back in 1997, and once she broke off from the group, she only continued to grow as an artist and person. In all six of Beyoncé’s solo studio albums, there are songs with galvanizing messages of female power and all of them reached number 1 on the charts. In Beyoncé’s song “Pretty Hurts,” she uses social issues, rhetorical appeals such as pathos, literary devices, metaphors, and vivid imagery to further the theme of female empowerment.
This song displays the traditional messages sent by male artists. What about female artists? What do their songs portray? Andsager and Roe’s findings give a good description. According to them, there are two kinds of female artists. The strong, more established female artists portray women as “fully equal.” These women are in their thirties at least, they are more established, and they dress in casual suits. They sang romance, female emancipation, and heartbreak like the rest, but they did not compromise their image in their videos. They use Trisha Yearwood as an example in her song Everybody Knows. The other type, were women who “fell into the lowest level on the consciousness scale.” They used Deana Carter’s song We Danced Anyway as an example. In this song she rolled on the beach in a wet t-shirt. Another one is Faith Hill’s song Breathe. In this song, Hill is seen rolling around in her bed sheets with no clothes on.
In the first stanza, the speaker wants his beloved lady to observe a flea and not think of anything else as he delivers his argument. A flea bites the speaker and his beloved causing their blood to mix,
Based off the lyrics, the song is all about how Beyonce truly feels deep down inside. The message behind
To start off, the first stanza in her song represents a sense of how unavoidable change is and how the confusion of the bond combined with the stress of the blame game can lead to a doomed
This song has a lot of emotion behind it. I believe that when Beyoncé sings this song, she is sending off a message to the families of those who lost their lives during 9/11. She is singing from the victim’s point of view saying to remember me for the positive impact I have made in the world and how I strived to make the world a better place. She is singing to tell us that no matter how rich, successful, or famous you may be, always live your life to the fullest because you never know when it
The title of the song that I will be analyzing is, Promise by Romeo Santos Ft Usher. This song is about Romeo being insecure about his relationship with a girl. He wants her to promise him that she won’t break his heart and that she will love him way past forever. He also talks about how he feels about her and what he fears could happen. This song has multiple important themes, but the one that I feel that is the most important is, “ Don’t be afraid to express how you feel.” The author included many literary devices to pass on his message.
Beyonce uses pathos, the first of the three appeals in her song by using very descriptive phrases. When she states, “I’d listen to her, `cause I know how it hurts,” Beyonce is telling her audience that she understands what it is like to be hurt, and that if she were a boy, she would treat her women better because she could understand where she was coming from. This tugs at the listener’s heart because you can see that she has been emotionally hurt from a past relationship. Also, many people can relate to what she is disclosing. It is human nature for people to get emotionally damaged in a relationship and therefore her feelings are empathized. She also uses syntax by the way she orders her words by telling a story. If the song was not in story form, it would not produce the great impact that it does.
First, the music video connects with teen girls by using lyrics that question staying in these harmful relationships. Shawn Mendes sings, “And you’re spending all your time in this wrong situation”, to motivate teen girls not to waste their time in those harmful relationships. These motivating lyrics help to encourage teenage girls to remove themselves from these relationships. When Shawn Mendes sings about how she should not waste her time in the wrong relationship, it encourages teen girls to get out of those bad relationships. Second, the music video relates to teen girls by using touching lyrics so that teenage girls realize the harmful relationships, they are in. Shawn Mendes sings the words, “But I can see it on your face when you say that he’s the one that you want”, as encouragement for teen girls to do what they want and leave a relationship if they feel unsafe or do not want to be part of it. Again, these compassionate lyrics inspire teen girls to disconnect harmful relationships, because that is what they should want. When Shawn Mendes sings about how it is obvious that the girl feels unhappy in the situation, it relates to other teen girl’s emotions and interests them to leave those situations. Through the use of concerning lyrics, of questioning and emotion the music video encourages teenage girls to leave their harmful relationships. Shawn Mendes’ “Treat
