Night Mare Short Story

The story called “Night Women” by Edwidge Danticat and the story called “The Awakening” by Crystal Wilkinson portray womanhood in different ways. However, both stories are very interesting and convey powerful ideas to the readers. Although the portrayal of womanhood is different, they share some similarities.

The book that I decided to read was Night Flying Woman by Ignatia Broker. The tribal identity in the book was Oibwe from the White Earth Band. Ms. Broker started out the book from the present day in Minneapolis where she grew up. There wasn’t much culture to be seen, and the younger generations were getting too lost in the new world. Ms. Broker made sure to mention that she still taught her children the Ojibwe ways, and told them the stories that her grandmother had once told her. Throughout Ignatia Broker’s introductory chapter, we got a sense of the amount of respect she had for you great-great grandmother Oona, or Night Flying Woman.

Wildwood is a story written by a writer named Junot Diaz. This story mainly focuses about a young girl called Lola. Lola lives in New Jersey with her single mother, and her brother called Oscar until she moves to her grandmother’s place. This little girl has a miserable relationship with her mother. Three things are important to Lola’s life: being responsible, being independent, and showing love to her grandmother.

Ready Player One hits some of the same situations as in the holocaust or for the book that we read “Night” like taking people spread out over a good area and combining them into a small dense area. They both also touch on the topic of how when someone is killed or something is blown up now one raises an eyebrow or if they do no one does anything about it.

When Papa says this things been a long time coming, T.J. just triggered it, I think it mean that the night men were going to come but T.J. made them come even earlier than expected. I think this because people haven't accepted that everyone is equal and segregation isn’t right. T.J. was not the only one who killed the man and stole things, R.W. and Melvin did to, but they wore stockings over their face to look black. Even if R.W. and Melvin weren't wearing the stockings they wouldn't have gotten as much trouble as T.J. because they are white. No one could kill or sentence them to a chain gang back then because if you did their racist  father would call the Night Riders or kill you. I know that the Night Riders also known as the KKK did horrible things to people, T.J. was no exception. R.W. and Melvin father was one of the ones hurting T.J. and his family, so clearly they were also teaching their children to do the same. Hanging out with these kids, T.J. had it coming getting in trouble because his so called friends were racist and just using T.J., just like their father. He should have realized that, but he didn't, and things didn't end up going well for T.J.

It was a cold stormy night. The house was still. I was lying in bed when I heard a series of knocks at the door. As I descended the stairs the knocks were getting louder and louder. I thought to myself, "Who could be at the door this late at night?" When I opened the door there was a tall man dressed all in black. He smelled of fish and looked like he just walked out of a mud pit. He was having car troubles and needed to use the phone. I invited him in and told him that the phone was down the hall in the living room. Instead of calling the tow truck he called his friend, George, to come pick him up. The “Night Witches” were all-female air force units from the Soviet Union that dropped bombs over nazis during World War II. They were the creation of Maria Raskova, the first female navigator in the Soviet Air Force. Women from all over the Soviet Union were allowed to apply. Most of the hundreds of women who were chosen were young students (between the ages of 17 and 26), all of whom were further educated at Engels School of Aviation. The squadron was created because Raskova was receiving many letters from women who wanted to be a part of the World War II fight. The first mission was on June 28, 1942 and the last was on June 28, 1942. Afterwards, many of the pilots awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.

Rain hit my head, raced down my face and back. We trudged through the mud, sinking in our boots feet deep. Hey Ms. Strazzeri, it’s sad to say, but The Night Tourist and I just went on our last date. I'll tell you what happened on the date. When the date started Jack and Euri were traveling to the train station which his mother haunts the most. Traveling there the only thing they found was a man who said “nobody but me haunts this place”. Jack had to make sure he was lying, he couldn't let the only clue about his mom end like that. Jack and Euri split up to search the whole station, and Jack felt with her gone that he wouldn't be able to come back to the living world without her. When Jack had reached the end of the platform he heard Euri shout his name. He started running toward her and saw Cerberus latch onto her neck and swing her body around.

leo looks to the king with his head down in shame “i did not do the crimes I am blamed for but if you wish to charge me then do so my lord” leo would cry at this point bu the has no tiers to cry and can not bare the thought of his life ending. The king looks at him with shameful eyes “Loretzio Nightshade from Italy you are charged with the crimes of witch muder and using magic within city limits”. Leo looks to the king and bows his head “my lord what shall be my punishment for these crimes I have been charged with” the king looks to his royal council as they nod back to him “you will burn at the wood of flames below this palace so your rosting flesh may be the heat that keeps our royal family warm” then the gaurds pick leo up by his arms and leo shrugges them “give me the will to walk

There are no boundaries when dealing with survival. For example, in the book “Night” the main character had to deal with the Holocaust in which the Jew had to battle for food when it was scarce among other starving Jews. When survival is at play our basic instincts tell us that we need to survive.

Benj Mahle discusses the reaction her students faced when she was teaching Night to her class. She states that she never had an adequate response towards her students and one of the common questions she received was, “How could the Nazis dump a truck load of babies into a burning pit, and feel nothing?”(Mahle 21). She then states that she has become comfortable answering “I don’t know” to those questions because she doesn’t even understand how someone can be that evil. In addition, she states that the student’s questions are not even answered in the novel and she believes it was meant to be unanswered. She believes Wiesel intentionally wants to plants those types of questions into the readers mind.

Crowfeather was sitting next to Nightcloud. She was the only person that really tolerated him throughout the whole post-Leafpool fiasco. His internal moping over Leafpool, his external moping over the lack of acceptance by his Clan.

And then it was underneath the water and the tour guide on the boat with us had a fake shotgun, and he tried to shoot it the shark. It was entertaining. And then we got food also we hungry from all the walking and site seeing. We saw “The Men in Black ride” we got on it now that was fun you go on. And you get a laser gun and you earn points by shooting the aliens it was really fun I enjoyed it I got a lot of points. And then we went on earthquake it was great. Me and my friend actually got scared we thought the water was going to rise over and flood inside our train that we were in. and then we saw the beetle juice show he walked up to us and put his hand out if one of us wanted to go on stage we were both creeped out so neither one of us said yes and he kept moving. But we stayed and watched the show and loved every bit of it. We saw Dracula’s bride, and Frankenstein, and Frankie’s bride, and well yeah you get the point and then we went and saw a stunt show it’s called Sinbad stunt show, and saw them doing flips and tricks and they were really high up. It was like a story he had to rescue the damsel in distress. And then we saw Shrek 4D that was fun it was a movie but it you put on your 4D glasses it becomes more than just a movie its interactive the seats move, and they spray you with

Josh would be surprised by how vindictive his mother was becoming. She enjoyed the sex as much as Josh did. Instead of working things out, it was her who started all this.
