Everyone remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing on Sept. 11, 2001. But what were you doing on May 2, 2011? Former Navy SEAL Matt Bissonnette, under the pen name Mark Owen, describes how he spent his day in detail in his new book, “No Easy Day”, the firsthand account of the mission that killed Osama bin Laden. Despite my reservations about being lost in a book that detailed the military, a topic I don’t usually find myself interested in, I downloaded “No Easy Day” on Kindle. By the end of the first chapter, I was hooked. Bissonnette is a brilliant writer and vividly captures his emotions and memories of his training as a SEAL and the missions that led to the capture and killing of bin Laden. In between chapters, I frequently
I felt that reading All Quiet on the Western Front was an intense book to read. Throughout the course of the book, the many
I couldn't put it down. Full of twists and turns that just kept on coming. I had no idea how this wild ride would end. And bonus - only 2.99 for Kindle. Can't wait to read more of his books.
Antonio’s six-word story slide “I’ll just do it all tomorrow” is conveying through his words and images the idea that sometimes you ignore your problems when there too much to handle. Antonio shows this build up of work by using an image that’s filled with paperwork. The work is unorganized which suggests that it isn’t worth doing.
Fast forward to mid-March. The Match is here; the excitement is palpable with every fourth year medical student present. Their elation induces a roar of chatter among colleagues, family, and friends. The announcer moves to the microphone and the room falls silent as he picks the first letter and reads the first name – 258. A wave of confusion, followed by whispers, rolls through the crowd, but a student stands up, moves to the stage, opens her letter, announces her residency, and then picks the next number. This would be a devastating ceremony to many if our STEP score was read aloud instead of our name, but the game is subtler, and we know it all too well.
The Longest Day June 6, 1944 by Cornelius Ryan offers turning points of World War ll. While The Longest Day June 6, 1944: The Climactic Battle of World War ll by Stephen Ambrose also shows pivotal points of the war. Both authors provide facts about D-Day while still sharing their opinions from different viewpoints. Ryan explains how a German soldier knew that it's country was at stake and the Allied invasion would be the decisive battle. Ambrose demonstrates that there are young men that had to fight in this battle, and those young men would rather be playing sports and enjoying their youth rather than shooting at other people their age. It is important that Ambrose explains that the men who are fighting are young. When thinking about war people
but I had an important meeting so I cancelled it. That’s actually where I was when the attacks occurred. I was in tower 2 on the 31ST floor sitting and listening to my boss Hennery talk about a new project we would be starting next Thursday. We were still tired because it was 7:45 in the morning.
Life is complex looking on how photosynthesis occurs there is so many steps involved. This means to me that life is not easy. For life to be complex it has to have different parts in doing something. Life is complex because it has many steps involved in solving everyday life problems. During class I found out carbon dioxide and water all connect to photosynthesis to make glucose and oxygen. You need to know how atoms change in order and what they create. Not only that but you also have to know what happens when ATP goes to ADP how ATP gets its energy it’s complex to know how much you need to know for photosynthesis to finish. You need to know what gives energy during photosynthesis which is the sun this showed examples on why life is complex. The sun gives energy to ATP then ATP uses that energy to finish photosynthesis.

“No, I won´t let another person die. That is the last word I´m going to say”, said the president to the press. As he left the room, people started asking more questions. The president of U.S. was going to his house to spend some time with his son, Joseph, he was a 15 year-old guy that he was always angry with his father Jim, the president, because he was never around, and who raised him was his aunt, because his father was always working. In the president way, he crossed into a desert, and shortly the car behind him, that were his body guards exploded. All the people in the car were desperate and tried calling for back up. Immediately another shot punctured the wheel of the car in which the president was, and the car flipped and started
This question is honestly the most difficult to answer. The entire book was intriguing from start to finish. I would say that what I liked the most about this book is all the pictures he placed on there. He captured every image with so much meaning. It is as it’s said, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” I got to see the faces of the fellow heroes in Fallujah.
In June, 2003 Kaimana, a girl that loves to walk on the beach, took a stroll on her favorite beach. She loves to walk on the beach because she like the feel on the sand in between her toes. She likes the breeze blowing in her hair and the view of the water. While she was walking, she found a glass bottle, with a light brown cork as the cover. She opened it, and a message flew out of it.
There is always a lesson to be learned in a story. Authors place an underlying message also called a theme to their readers by trying to convey it through their work. In the story, One of these Days, the theme is about how easy it is to abuse power. The mayor of the town is a great example of the misusing of power. He puts himself as higher status than everyone and abuses his title as mayor from start to finish. He even obnoxiously tells the dentist, “it’s the same damn thing” when the dentist asks where he should send the bill to the mayor or the town. With this statement, it can be inferred that he uses the town’s money for personal uses instead of directing it to public needs. The mayor claims that the town and the people is owned and can
Based on what I have read so far in $2 a day is eye opening. We live in a country of wealth, and the fact that there are cities around the country where people are living below the poverty line is shocking. I would assume that since we are living in a country where there are so many job opportunities, good paying jobs, and a good economy that poverty like in the developing countries wouldn't exist here. I was very wrong, the author stated that about 1.5 million households were depending on $2 a day per household member. I couldn't imagine myself in their position, trying to survive with $2 a day. If I were to compare what I spend on a day, it is ten times more than what they spend a day. Although there are government services that can help
An average day. I wake up and get ready. Then my mom takes me to school and I go to the cafeteria and talk to my friends until the bell rings and then go to band with Benji and Riley. Then I go to study hall and me and Riley usually just listen to music and have fun. Then I go to math with Austin,Keely,Quinci,Marina, and Diego. After that I go right next door to social studies. After that depending on which day it is I either have study hall with Tomas,Taylan,Austin, and Mario. Then I go to science with Benji and Riley. And after that I go to language with Austin,Benji,Riley, and Kale. Then I go to hex which is really fun because I have Diego,Lupita, and Emma in there. After that I go to einstein time. Then I go home, and when I go home I either
I never thought the viewpoint on someone I love, would change so fast. When I was ten I was just having a normal day, I woke up, went to school, learned a bunch of stuff and then came home. My brother, Whyatte, came up to me and told me “Dad had an accident we have to go to the hospital.”
