Ordinarily, I tend to be afraid of the unknown future; “the other shoe always drops” type deal. Having faith hasn't been the easiest throughout recent years, but I'm yearning for a change. The intersection between my faith and the collegiate goals I wish to accomplish at PBA would be to believe in God’s plan without fear. Purposefully, being hardworking within my education, as well as, in my faith because opportunities come when you add a great work ethic to the ability to take risks. Frankly, the faith I have acquired slowly. There wasn't an epiphany nor a traumatic event that caused me to have a more optimistic approach to life. I am a Non-Denomination, Christian with beliefs that in times of struggle I questioned. Nonetheless, even
Catholicism. I am thankful for my friendship with Allison, and the ways that she stretched and
The Non-Denominational church is an alternative traditional style that speaks to me from experience. The Non-Denominational traditional style of worship is about God and his attributes. The church flows with the Holy Spirit and believes in teaching the people the Gospel with simplicity rather than using the pulpit to slash people or tell others business that was told them in confidence. They focus on salvation, small group ministries, outreach ministries, and discipleship. They not traditional based but more of a free range church.
Baptists are one of the largest Protestant Christian Denominations. A vast majority of Baptist churches do follow the basic Baptist doctrines with emphasis on the belief that baptism should occur through immersion. This belief is the main contributor to their identity and therefore is the reason why they are called Baptists. Many groups of baptist emerged after the 17th century with many beliefs such as the atonement of Jesus as he died on the cross. They have different beliefs and founders as well as different regions of the world. As centuries go by the Baptist church expanded to different parts of the world and is the second largest religious group in the Christian faith after the Catholic Church. The Baptist origin and founders, their structure
I went to a non-denominational Christian church on 18 July 2015. I grew up as a member of the LDS church and I no longer go to church as well as no longer believe as well. I chose the non-denominational church because it seemed less intimidating as others and I also had a friend to go with that frequents this church. Non-denominational Christian churches have always intrigued me as well.
“There were 11.1 million of unauthorized immigrants in the U.S in 2014” (5 Facts About Illegals). This epidemic is causing hospitals to declare bankruptcy wherever there is a larger population of illegal immigrants. Living so close to the Mexican border, Texas has an inflation of illegal immigrants causing working citizens to pay their hard earned money for illegal immigrants to get health care for free, even though they aren’t employed or a citizen of the United States. American citizens should not provide healthcare to illegal immigrants.
Faith can be defined as a spiritual entity that can shape a person’s confidence. My faith has influenced the young woman that I am today. I characterize myself as a person who is optimistic, intelligent, full of self-confidence, independent, and charismatic. My faith has delivered me through a lot of trials and tribulations. I come from a low income, single parent home, where the sight of Lupus and kidney failure is taking my mother’s life. These circumstances have made Carolina Medical Center my second home; I have celebrated Christmases and birthdays right beside my mother's hospital bed. Even though she is sick, we make time to give back to the community. As a child, I was taught the hard work of volunteering: from working with Operation Christmas Child, feeding the homeless, and volunteering at my church’s annual back to school drive. My journey has encouraged me to want to become a role model for young girls and women. I want to show them that your past does not define you, but the content of your character does. My mission to help young women strongly correlates with the purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha
faith, and relying on God to open doors for me. I knew then that I was on the right path.
“We all long to be in the flourishing section, but we stay in the safe section”(Mr. Mustard.) I want to be able to stand up for what is right no matter who it is for or when it is. “ For I know the plans I have for you, Declares the Lord, Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future(Bible Gateway.) This is has helped through this year because it has helped me to know that I am the temple of God and I am the body of Christ. I know that my plans and God’s plans are different. I learned that through this year. I always wanted to make my own plans like I will study this or I want to do this. But it I have found out that it doesn't work that way. I know I have to believe in him and he will show me the way. “Also tht I am the body of Christ, when God looks down onto this earth, He will look down on us and see the image of Christ in us”(Pastor Matt.) That just blew my mind, I don’t know why, but it did. That is why I want to grow more in my faith and my action because we all are made in Christ image, and we should fulfill
The assignment required a selection and review of five different literary sources, designating three as resources for an analytical literary review of the subject matter. The detailed review of the three selected resources is a culmination of our written critic. The first source, “Should College Athletes Be Paid?” by Tiffany Patterson, has no firm stance is taken. The article is laid out in a manner to inform readers without prior knowledge of the subject, information that would assist them towards drawing their own stance on the subject. Patterson does this by providing three pros and three cons on the topic and then allowing the reader to decide. In her article, Patterson (2016) proclaims:
God and his power and wisdom. I knew in my heart that I would have to pray and listen to God
Incipiently, my understanding of the faith has grown immensely. Coming to saint joachim school has let me Receive two of the seven sacraments. It also gave me the opportunity to altar serve and or lector. However my faith was at its peak with our 5th grade teacher sister ana rosa. Not only was she a nun but the most loving teacher i have ever had. Always taking us to the convent was and will be my most favorite part of religion.
Faith in Christ has given me a unique life filled with optimism and purpose. From a young age, I have been raised in a home where I was taught about the love of Christ. Not only at home did I learn about Christ, but at school and at church. Thus, my life has been filled with experiences that have amplified my faith. For example, when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, I found that my relationship with Christ grew. Through all of the difficult circumstances that I have faced, faith in Christ has given me the encouragement that I need to persevere through any situation. Additionally, faith has influenced my decision making, which is why I strive to make all my decisions and live my life according to faith-based principles. This means
Christ more my life has changed. My family plays a big part in my spiritual progress.
There are approximately 38,000 different Christian churches today this can be very confusing to someone seeking a relationship with God, but in 1 Corinthians 14:33, it encourages those not to be confused because God is not the author of confusion but of peace. Denominations can be traced back to the first century, during the time of Paul Where he briefly talked about the divisions in his first letter to the Corinthians. Paul says how it is not okay to have divisions in the church. There are so many different Christian denominations and for someone who is interested in Christianity this maybe confusing and/or seem like a weak point. Most people who are venturing into the religion ask why does
My faith journey has been challenged throughout my life. I have had many ups and downs, and many times when I questioned my faith. Although those times were rough, I found comfort in God and knowing that He is always there for me. One of my favorite quotes is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13. This quote got me through tough times when my faith was shaking.
