I believe in people (Berstein 19). I believe there is good in every human being because of the choice we have between right and wrong (19). In “The Mountain Disappears”, Leonard Bernstein tells us that it is what we choose to do with that free will is what defines us. Something that we need to believe in is love. Love is a commitment and teaches us how to be passionate about something that makes us a better person. I believe that every single one of us has the ability to change and that when we change, we have great potential (19-20). Everyone has the potential to make a difference in the world. I believe in the attainability of good (21). We all have it, so why don’t we use it?
MORGANTOWN, W.Va.--With the West Virginia University fall camp underway, one of the things the Mountaineers are continuing to work on is the passing game.
Growing up by Mount Newton I had never heard the First Nation History to the mountain. The story of Mount Newton is that an elder gathered the community together to tell them that they would no longer be safe in their homeland because the tides were rising. He warned them that they had to temporarily move up to the top of the Mount Newton to avoid the high tide. The community listen to the elder and gathered up their canoes and belonging and headed to the summit. As the sea waters began to rise up higher than the top of Mount Newton the community members had to tie a rope between their canoes and an arbutus tree and float above the land. The First Nation’s were floating in their canoes when a raven arrived to tell them the flood would soon be over. The raven traditionally in
The pink blooms on tall stakes, also known as Fireweed, often blanket the land in this region and when the flowers turn to cotton, it is a sign that winter is around the corner. As the 90 degree heat of summer comes to an end, the 70 degrees below zero of winter highlight the beauty of the northern lights, tundra, forest and mountains. Look up and Denali Mountain rises 20,310 feet above sea level as the highest peak in North America. This summit is company to 6 million acres of the Denali National Park and Grizzly Bears. This particular bear is abundant in the Talkeetna Mountains and the metal gold is present in the creeks and valleys.
The United States is the 3rd largest nation in the world and is 2nd largest nation on the North American continent. Just west of the coastal plains is the Appalachian Mountain chain that stretches from Northern Georgia to Maine. The Appalachian Mountains is a mineral rich region that houses one of the biggest
In our experiment of field ecology at A-mountain, the purpose were to understand the specific factors that affect the distribution and abundance of plant species at north facing slope and south facing slope. The availability of plants in certain area depends on temperature, availability of water, sunlight and nutrients. A-mountain which is in Arizona has different desert plant that includes; grass, brittlebush, bursage, creosote bush, mesquite, palo verde, fishhook barrel, hedgehog, pincushion, teddy bear cholla, staghorn cholla, chain fruit cholla, prickly pear and others.. and some are specifically found on either north or south side of the mountain. The fact that the south slope receive more direct sunlight than the north facing slope, soil moisture will evaporate faster in south side of the mountain than in the north side thus the availability of different drought resisting plant whereas in north side where there is a slower evaporation due to lack of direct sunlight hence few drought resistant plants compared to south side (Wyant, unpublished data). We predicted that to the south side of the mountain there be will more diversity, evenness and drought tolerant plants species than the north side.

Later on, when Reyna was four her mother had left to go help her father, and this left Reyna and her three siblings with their grandmother who wasn’t as pleasant as you would expect. As the story progresses forward, readers can see their living conditions how they aren't getting properly fed and some of the traumatic events that they witness such as people dying in front of them or people with rare illnesses. Soon after her mother comes back to Mexico, the children realize that their father had left her for another woman and their mother had brought back a new baby with her. After this, their father comes to Mexico, and brings Reyna and her two siblings back to the US with them. Living their lives in the US was not as easy as they thought because of the language barrier and their father drinking all day long and getting constantly abused by him almost every day. for small things. Eventually, Reyna pursues her education and finds sanctuary in reading books and writing stories. She was the first person in her family to graduate from college and pursue her dreams. Because of this, she has inspired many people around this world. Overall Reyna Grande successfully tells us about how immigration impacted her life and her family’s life using features such as the honest truth, both internal and external conflict, graphic imagery, and a sad and bittersweet tone to reflect upon all of her life experiences. Because of this, she convinces the readers about the toll immigration took on their family.

On August 30, the miners began their assault on Blair Mountain. Defensive formations blocked the miners along on the upper slopes of the ridge, with particular concentrations at the gaps of Mill Creek, Crooked Creek, Beech Creek and Blair Mountain. Here the defensive force dug trenches, chopped down trees, blocked roads, built breastworks and placed machine guns. Most of the fighting between the two groups took place along the fifteen-mile ridgeline, which reflected the miners' use of natural pathways up and over the ridge to breach Chafin's line.

The central idea of the readings is about how Apa climbed Everest 19 times. Another example that supports this main point is that Apa cleaned Everest. Mountain Everest and Mountain Mckinely are similar because they are very cold mountain. They are also similar because they are a little difficult to cilmb. The diffeence is that Mountain Everest id the highest mountain in the world and Mountain Mckinely is as tall as Mountain Everest. They are also different because the Mountain Mckienly has more people who have climbed it because it isn't as hard to climb as Everest.Meanwhile mountain only has 200 climbers because it’s harder to climb and more dangerous because there are possible avalanches, people get sick fast, some people even die and it’s extremely
