“Please, I can’t leave my family!”
“Move before I slap you. I’ll make sure there is a public representation for your kids tomorrow.”
I watched in horror as the woman was eroded away as my own cousin tied a noose for the woman’s child. They were only kids, but they had told us that it was for our family back home. I was starting to have doubts…
I still remember the screams of the children and the noose tightened and dug into their skin until a river of crimson blood ran from their neck.
“Sir we are we going?” a child questioned “Will my mother be there?”
“No.” I respond with no emotion
It feels as if though she knows when she gives a cold stare that pierces my soul. As we get nearer to the gallow I see the noose is already prepared.

The faint memory of the german officer telling me it is for our homeland, the jews are the enemy coming is the only thing that enables me to witness and carry on and play a role in these killings. Hours go by as one by one children are murdered. Each one given a dose of morphine to help. Sometimes the officer tying the nooses has to tighten it with all his might as the children are so thin from being starved and deprived. The officer,Zelig has a grin on his face every time he executes the children with his own hands. It is truly an act only able to be done by someone deprived of emotion and blinded by …show more content…
As the door is opened an aura of death and fecal matter envelops the area. They forcefully take the ones alive out of the freight car and leave the dead. They all are examined to check for their current health status. The healthy are sent to the right to work in labor camps. The disabled or old are sent to the left were they are told they will be taking a shower to calm them down. Then they would make them take off all of their clothes and belongings. It was only after this that they would be herded and closed off in the room. Then they would throw zyklon b pellets down into the room from an opening on the sides. This time a deep pain penetrates my heart. Its a few seconds before i realise i'm on the ground crying my eyes out. My mind is perfectly stable but I am no longer in control of my body. “Sir,” a soldier asked “Are you ok?” “Sir!”
The voice was faint and barely legible. The soldier had blonde hair and azure blue eyes. His face soothed my raging emotions and led to me calming down. I was being taken to the doctor's office when I was able to react once more. “You can put me down now.” I
I’m amazed at how inhumane and beastlike the prisoners became. Every time I think the prisoners have suffered as much pain as they can bear, they get stuck into worse situations. For example, in the train the passengers never received food and survived on snow. Every once in awhile, they would receive bread but it was not enough for everybody on board. Having been starved for ten days, the prisoners were willing to kill each other for a piece of bread. A young boy even killed his own father for a piece of bread. I can’t believe the Nazis have created this environment. The prisoners have no choice but to disregard the normal rules of human society.
"John, get up?", said Ms. Warner, my mother who I love dearly is the only reason why I live and breath everyday. She provide for me and is always there. I dont know what i would do without my mother. There was only a few days left until a new ritual would begin. Rumor were floating around about the head officers had created some game, but no one knew what it was. No one ever questioned the officers nor did anyone not obey the officers of Riverwood for they had complete immunity to any crimes and could do whatever they wanted and not be questioned.
mother’s death I can remember everyone who was in the stands that day...” This reference to the narrator’s vivid memory and the detailed depiction of the event shows the gravity of the situation and allows the reader to fully grasp the impact that the accident had on both the protagonist and the narrator. This act of bizarre violence is used masterfully in the author’s recount of his life. It shows how hard it is for a young boy to lose the only parent he ever knew and it also shows how hard it is for a child to be implicated in an event where someone close to the child has been unintentionally killed.
The night drew closer around the individuals who, some in dreams, some in panic, seemed to react to impending danger and turned, some to nightmares, some to an eerie calm, as those on death row that accepted their demise for what it was, an abrupt shattering of their existence. Be that as it may, however, some did not wish to go so simply. While some wished for a calm ending, but embraced nevertheless a less subtle end, that of fire and mutilation, others feared it for what it was, or what it could be. Some feared being lost, trapped in a dungeon of previously sound architecture, to watch the edges of their vision turn to the blackness of
I could almost see the child’s lifeless body hanging from the rope, an innocent child that did nothing wrong. It also makes me feel mad at the Nazis for committing these crimes against humanity, along with a bit of sadness and sympathy for everyone who got sent to a concentration camp during that dark era. This, among all else, stands out to me as just one of the atrocities in the Holocaust, the idea that children could be killed so easily. While this is only one of the horrible events described in the book, it certainly embodies the spirit of the Holocaust, and
Children are murdered. Innocent people are held prisoners. No one knows. The ones who do know do not try to help. This is the story of the Holocaust and the atrocities the Nazis committed.
It's so alarming that I can't even picture what it must have been like! Even with the Jews personal items being taken, their life-sustaining needs were hardly provided for them by the Nazis. It was pure torture what the did to these people and is under no circumstances justified in any case.
It would have about 200-250 people in it at one time. The people would start to notice what was happening when they would see the gas start seeping in .The didn’t know what was happening till then. The people first when they realized what was happening would cry. Then after a couple minutes the chamber would go quiet. The gas chamber doors were opened after about 10-15 minutes. The sight was horrific as the people lie dead every which way (Zyklon
It is necessary for us to study and recite the wrongdoings of World War II. We must focus on how the Jews were tortured, the Nazi’s racist behaviour and the starvation of the prisoners. The Germans violent torture and abusive behaviour should be the symbol of injustice for all generations. “My foot aching, I shivered with every step. Just a few more metres
Just then the mother heard an explosion, and her eyes grew mad and welled up with tears. She ran through the streets of Birmingham, calling her child’s name out.
In the “Introduction From Between Men”, Eve Kosofsky Sedgwick discusses gender, power, sex, culture, and society. In the section where she refers to homosocial desire, she argues that “concomitant changes in the structure of the continuum of male “homosocial desire” were tightly, often casually bound up with other more visible changes” (Sedgwick, page 507). Within her theory she believes that, friendships, rivalries, homosexuality, and heterosexuality are in an intimate and shifting relation to class. Throughout her work, she often refers to the terms homosocial and homosocial desire. Sedgwick states that “homosocial desire” is kind of an oxymoron, where as “homosocial” describes the social bonds between persons of the same sex (Sedgwick, page 507).
In conclusion, my impression of the Holocaust is outraged by the events that underwent during the Holocaust. Personally, the part with the shooting of babies for target practice in “Night” makes me sick. It makes me wonder how people can live with themselves after tricking themselves to believe innocent Jews are the enemy when they’ve done no crime to deserve a
Many people who develop addictions with dangerous drugs such as heroin and cocaine have started somewhere smaller. Marijuana is a common street drug and there is lots of controversy around it. There are several arguments about its use, and one of them is whether it is a gateway drug.
All of these stories give examples of the dehumanization of the Nazi’s. They took away their names, their lives, and most of all their humanity. Imagine if you were in that situation. You are alive but do you really feel
