The purpose of this Idea Paper is to propose a topic of innovation that I will use as the central focus of my STEM Time Capsule Project in IDS 3003 (Bilica). This paper represents my preliminary ideas and is based upon my early research into my topic of innovation. This project will develop as I continue to read and research my topic/innovation. Our group selected a specific geographic region and historic time period to study as a group, but we will each focus upon a unique STEM innovation from within that geographic region and time period (Bilica).

Egyptology, the study of Ancient Egypt, is a disciple that some dedicates their lives to, in hopes of understand the contributions this great era has supplied to our world, and as such there is a multitude of information to draw from. It is because of this information that our group chose to further delve into the cultural and regional ideas of this time period.
My Intended Topic/ Innovation
I have chosen to focus my STEM Time Capsule topic upon tools that made Egyptian life easier; such innovations would be the ramp and the lever. The resources that were provided have been the custom way of life during before Christ and lasted for thousands of years. Yet, today in our society we still use what the Egyptians invented, but we have used their inventions as a foundation for advancement in tools. The Egyptians used their tools to make life easier, especially in construction, such as building the pyramids, temples, limestone homes, and other building constructed with the ramps and levers. The innovation of tools represents STEM because these tools were considered a form of technology, in a way that it was innovated to change the way of life. Transitioning form technology was going into engineering because the Egyptians used the tools to construct the building with various methods. The innovations fit within our group’s geographic time period because it’s the foundation of how life was sustainable in ancient Egypt. Without these
This investigation attempts to correctly analyze in what way the geography of Egypt influenced the ancient Egyptian religion. This query is very relevant because, certain geographical items influenced the creation of the ancient religion that helped shape many religions that are very prevalent today such as Christianity and Judaism. The issues that will be addressed are how the great Sahara Desert surrounding the civilization, the Nile river that nourishes the whole population, and how the overall common beliefs and myths built the foundation of the ancient Egyptian religion and subsequently influenced modern day religions. This analysis will focus on the time period of 3110 BCE to 550 CE and the place being examined is the country of Egypt. This will be accomplished through the exploration of research documents and informational novels.
Ancient river valley civilizations were some of the most innovative and inventive civilizations in history and are a key element to technologies and innovations in present day. Communities and civilizations in current-day China, India, and Egypt are heavily responsible for inventing some of the world’s most important inventions. For example, irrigation systems, writing, sewage systems, calendars, and much more were created in these ancient river valley civilizations . Ancient buildings such as the Great Pyramids and other religious temples were built with techniques that are still used today and advanced construction all over the world.
The history of ancient Egypt is divided into three blocks of time referred to as kingdoms. The kingdoms were named as the Old Kingdom, the Middle Kingdom, and the New Kingdom. This essay highlights the differences among the three kingdoms in terms of politics, economics, sculpture, and architecture.
During the reign of the Eighteenth Dynasty, Egyptian civilization became developed and powerful. Also, during the New Kingdom the life of Egyptians changed in a different aspects. One of the changes was renewed traditions. Another change that happened was a rise of a new aristocracy “whose wealth was acquired through warfare and the winning of the lands which they received from the pharaoh” (Western Civilization, pg.31).
Egyptian culture has many contrasts and contradictions between the old and the new. The two cultures are much different from each other. But in its entirety, the culture of Egypt has successfully combined the best of both worlds. Keeping the appeal and magnificence of its ancient culture unharmed, modern Egypt has absorbed the contemporary ways of life. Egypt Culture is a balanced culture, both in its ancient times as well as its stylishness.

As new advancements in technology have been made, some methods of the old world have faded into history and become obsolete, while others have changed to fit into a different niche amongst the new technology.
Baines’ examination of artifacts from the Early Dynastic and Old Kingdom periods in order to understand the sociopolitical organization from earlier periods benefits from the unique nature of Egyptian art history. Have you ever wondered how Ancient Egypt helped shape the world today? Ancient Egyptians were a group of folks who were heavily influenced by religion. They feared dying anywhere but Egypt. The Egyptian Empire held a fascinating and very distinctive culture. Being one of the world 's most advanced cultures and creating tons of wealth is what separated them from everybody else. Between the outstanding artwork, teaching methods, and amazing pyramids is what helped their society advance altogether. No other civilization of the ancient world history had such a popular appeal and none as important as human society and its organization. Egyptians have made great steps in shaping the world we all know today, which have made studying their culture and society easier than some previous historical eras.
The tools in Neolithic is more of things used in farming. Just like in our generation now, they also used a thing that is the one we use to harvest a rice. For me, it’s like a jigsaw puzzle but there’s something missing. Studies need more proof. A piece of stone and some fossils are not enough to conclude that humans came from apes. But at last, I also get amazed on the concept of this things. And also, it doesn’t matter if we came from apes or from the creation of God, what matter is we are alive and we can do things that we want. We have the things that we can use to survive, unlike the periods back then.
Yet, though Ancient Egypt has many wonders to offer, let’s decide to focus the journey on tools that made Egyptian life easier; such innovations would be the ramp and lever. These certain resources that were provided have been the custom way of life during before Christ and last for thousands of years.
