The way people ultimately view homosexuality, whether in religion, politics or modern popular culture, is all determined by traditional or changing points of view. This essay will discuss mainly liberal and conservative Christian interpretations of the Bible, including many verses that may support or condemn homosexuality. It will also discuss the political views and laws against same-sex marriage and the social activism in the homosexual community. This is all about view points and it has many conflicting views and arguments.

My personal code of ethics is Equality and Sensibility. I believe in a predictable system that assures the well-being of all, especially those without power, is a just system. As a wife, mother, nurse and a member of a community, I strive to do the best I can in every aspect of my life. As a mother, I strive to be a good role model to my children and teach them the fundamentals of life. I strive to be able to give a solid foundation and an easy path to life whether it be school, finding who they want to be as they grow older and for a productive future. As a nurse, I strive for equality of care for every patient and to be able to be their voice when they are not

Morals, character, integrity, what do these words mean….actually, the question is, do you have them. A man named Dwight Moody once said, “Character is what you are in the dark.” You cannot see your morals, character, or integrity, these are only shown as your values. Someone could only show their own values, which are very important to themselves and everyone else. Integrity is the firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values. The way you show your integrity, character, and morals or how they are effect you in either a negative or positive way. There are many causes to how your values are. So as you know, integrity is very important and it is important to have it.

However, this also regards sexuality beliefs. For example, if a homosexual person is working at the nursery, you should not judge him because he has equal rights just like you, and is part of the society just like you.

I agree with the statement Balswick &Balswick stated, “It is a tragedy when people who struggle with sexual identity experience rejection from the Christian community.”(Balswick & Balswick, 2014, p. 234) As Christians we do our best to obey and follow God’s will, but as humans it is in our sinful nature to fall in sin. Just as Adam and Eve did in Genesis 3. We all face struggles in our lives, whether it be within ourselves or outside in the world of society. No sin we face as an individual is any better or worse than another. Never wanting to experience rejection but having a deep desire of wanting to be accepted or understood is something we all long for. Yes we understand that It might be against your religious beliefs to be homosexual but that doesn't give you the right to yell at the LGBT community telling them they’re sinners and they're all going to hell. According to Biblehub.com Mark 12:31 says “Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” that includes your homosexual neighbors. Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” which according to Bible.org means all believers are judged equally including gay/lesbian believers.

We are presented with choices every day. Many are easy to make and cause very little stress, but some choices can be extremely difficult and have significant consequences. The difference between making the right choice or the wrong one is often determined be a persons character, which is based upon the qualities of integrity, responsibility, and honesty. Gaining an understanding of these three character traits and how to build them is critical to creating a lifetime of positive outcomes.

That 's one thing I never understood about Christianity and Christians. They 're so bitter with gay and transgender people when we 're all inevitably just humans. Who gives them the right to control somebody 's sexuality and gender? Of course, I 'm not actually gay, but playing the role has made me think about things more in depth. Maybe it wasn 't right of me to tear others down for reasons like that. Then again, is anything I do right? Probably not.

In some cultures same-sex relationship is a taboo; most are discriminated, punished, and others are prayed out of it. However, in some cultures same sex relationships are seen as a type of practice preparing men for their future roles as husbands. Following this, the get married to a woman and the behavior is no longer acceptable. Among other cultures, a same-sex relationship is only accepted if there is a shortage in the opposite sex partner. Also, men are expected to be masculine so when they’re a little feminine they 're considered less of a man(Vance 2011).

My sex is female, and I also identify my gender as being a heterosexual female. As far as religion goes, I identify as a non-denominational Christian who basically almost lives at church. All of these aspects of my life affect my perspective on the LGBT community. I believe that being homosexual is wrong and should not be done because only man and woman should be together, but because of my religion, I also believe in accepting those people apart of the LGBT community. Many people would say that I am wrong or confused for thinking this way because I am Christian and believe in God because the bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, “Surely you know that people who do wrong will not get to enjoy God’s kingdom. Don’t be fooled. These are the people who will not get to enjoy his kingdom: those who sin sexually, those who worship idols, those who commit adultery, men who let other men use them for sex or who have sex with other men, those who steal, those who are greedy, those who drink too much, those who abuse others with insults, and those who cheat.” Many people who are not truly rooted in their faith will see this scripture and will shun away all people apart of the LGBT community or just stop believing in God because they are in that community. I, on the other hand, know that even though that is said in the Bible there is more to this statement. The Bible also says

However, another passage in scripture states “Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law” (RSV Romans 13:8-10). If love is the true fulfillment of the law, then why would it not be the determinant for which laws we are to abide? Even as this passage encourages its religious followers to accept and love everyone, the firm believers of heteronormativity isolate the LGBT population and remove them from mainstream society.

With the world of technology making advances so quickly we sometimes forget our own limits as a mortal species. Genetic therapy has the potential to save millions of people from genetic mutations and protein deficiencies. This paper will go on to argue that the Utilitarianism approach in ethics shows all the right things about genetic therapy. The first-time gene therapy was used on a patient dates back in the 1990s when a four-year-old girl had adenosine deaminase deficiency. With this disease, her white blood cells were not doing their job and left her prone to infections. Through the power of genetic therapy some of her white blood cells were extracted, altered to produce adenosine deaminase, and reinjected. This treatment not only saved her life from dangerous diseases but also began a world of opportunities in the medical field. The ethical issue is, is it right or wrong to have that much power to alter genes and to what degree you should be able to modify them. Should people live out their futures the ways they are born or should they live life to the fullest and get the genetic treatments?

We human beings live in a society. The society or the social world we live in is based on human cooperation. In other words, the individuals in a society do not live in an isolated self-centered world. The human interactive system presupposes ethical and moral standpoint from which we operate. My personal ethical system is based on “service before self” and “love your neighbors as yourself”.

Ethical behavior is often seen as amoral when used for persuasive purposes. This is possible because persuasion may be used in unethical situations as well as ethical situations. Either way, it depends upon the person who is trying to persuade others. Adolf Hitler is an excellent example of someone who persuaded millions of people to behave unethically. On the other hand, Mother Teresa used persuasion for ethical reasons by caring for the sick and the orphaned, and because of this has impacted an entire world.

We have ethical training in the military to create a universal standard of behavior because morals are so variable and linked to religious belief. They cannot tell people what religious behaviors to have but they can create a universal ethical guidance. Many people might think of ethic is common sense and may not take it seriously. Sometimes we need the reinforcement like the ethic training to illustrate what is right and wrong look like, and hope people will do the right thing intuitively.
