Base on data that my field placement teacher had already collected, I decided to review with the students over Perfect Verb Tense. This is one concept that a lot of the students had a problem grasping the first time and with the Georgia Milestones coming up, they needed some more practice. I know that most of my students are EIP students, so I picked a video to start with as a refresher and then went straight into a review game to keep the students interested in the lesson. Then from there, I picked activities that I knew the students could have fun with base on the interests of my students, activities I’ve seen them play with before, and base on what they are struggling with. For example, the foldable activity is a great activity for my EIP …show more content…
Students were excited to play the Jeopardy game and were clearly engaged in the activity because they were ready to answer the question in just a few seconds and I did not have to remind anyone that they all needed to participate. Their work that was assessed also showed they had been engaged in the lesson because most of the students were able to write all of their sentences correctly. Those who did not write their sentences correctly were able to use the correct helping verb with the right Perfect tense, but had some trouble with the action …show more content…
I would also stick with either the Jeopardy game for the rest of the class or instead of letting the students pick one activity to do after the game, I would set up three centers and let students do each center for the rest of the class time. I would do this because it took more time than I thought it would to go over the review video. Cutting back on what I put in the lesson, I would have more time to go over the review and then give them one fun activity that allows them to practice what we are reviewing and not run out of
I try to make the activity as fun as possible in a way that evolves the teachers plan but also suits my teaching style and methods. I usually try to turn all activates whether it be numeracy, literacy or science into a group activity so each child
On 06/16/2018 at about 2345 hours, Officer Deltoro (P#2509) and I were dispatched to 4812 Crystal Sword Street in reference to a 911 disconnect. While en route North Las Vegas Dispatch advised a male and female could be heard in the background yelling.
I face a number of unusual personal expenses that make it difficult for my family to contribute to the cost of my education. Unfortunately, I along with my two other siblings and mother have been diagnosed with a variety of autoimmune diseases. I have been diagnosed with Type One Juvenile Diabetes, my middle sister has been diagnosed Vitiligo, my youngest sister has a form of Uveitis, and my mother has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. In order to treat our respective diseases we need to take the prescribed medications that are each very costly and do not have a generic brand available on the pharmaceutical market. The treatment of my, my siblings, and mother’s collective diseases is financially heavy on our family, and it makes it
As an Arab immigrant who was raised in the United States since he was seven years old, who lived in Michigan seeing Arabs everyday and never felt like he was in a foreign country; and moving to NYC in 2015, changed the whole style of my life. NYC the tremendous city that I couldn’t find the people that I knew and that I understood nor those that understands me because of our massive cultural differences, and believes. The biggest problem is when I started school in NYC. The school system was different because in NYC they had regents, also their credit requirements were different, for that I was behind in credits and didn’t know what was the regents. Also, I came to school almost at the end of the First marking period of the second semester of freshman year.
Before starting my day, I usually put on a earphone and press “shuffle play” on my Throwback playlist on my Spotify account. The most recent five songs that I have listened to before writing this assignment was You Rock My World - With intro by Michael Jackson, Baby, I’m Back by Baby Bash, Just The Two Of Us by Grover Washington, Charlene by Anthony Hamilton, and Show Me The Way by Earth Wind & Fire. Interestingly I have never heard these songs until last year because I was only exposed to music that was on the radio station such as 94.9 or 106.1 where newest and trending songs were played most often. Since three of those songs were produced in early 2000’s and the other two produced between the 1970s and 1980s, I was never able to come across
While sitting at my desk in a classroom overflowing with colorful decorations, my 1st grade classmates and I were taught how to add and subtract. At that moment, I had no idea that numbers would soon become one of the biggest factors in my life. Before I knew it, my journey as a number on a sheet of paper began. From third grade to my senior year of high school, I have been tested in every way, shape, and form and compared to kids all around the country. My test scores decided if I was able to move on to the next grade, what classes I took, and will soon factor into what college I will be attending. Those numbers have seemingly been the determinant in how successful I have been academically and how successful I am expected to be. Numbers even
I met my best friend Briana Williams when I was eight years old, in the second grade at Flat Rock Elementary School. Ms. Wyatt our second grade teacher would always line us up next to each other because we were both about the same height. Before you knew it we began forming a friendship.

I really enjoyed the, What’s the Average activity. During this activity, I learned a unique way of learning mean, median and mode. When I began this activity, I thought I already learned the three averages in the easiest way. In elementary school and middle school, it was hard for me to understand median when it came to two data points that ending up in the middle. I could never understand why the median could not be both data points. Folding the graph paper with all the data points made understanding the concept easier due to the fact I could visually see the location of the median. Another benefit that I found was it would help students understand that the median is always going to be located in the middle of the data. Another way I could use this concept is compare the median to a median in a rode. I could explain to them that the yellow lines on a road represent the median and the lanes represent the data points. Using this will give the students a chance to use their prior knowledge to aid them to understand the concept.
13.I was able to see that the students were focusing, responding, asking questions, volunteering, etc. throughout the lesson. I also gave formative assessments throughout the lesson as well as a final assessment. One example of a student’s response would be when my students were participating in small-group discussions with peers. I went to the station this student was at and asked the student how they knew what animals belonged in the desert environment. This student was able to articulate a response to me which demonstrated learning. Additionally, I did interviews with the students as a formative assessment. The final assessment took place when the students participated in the SmartBoard matching activity at the end of the lesson.
I found that I faced several challenges during my very first lesson. I prepared a greater than/less than review as well as a telling time to the nearest hour and half hour. The students enjoyed the review game, I thought that although it was a little unorganized, the students found that it was a fun and challenging review game. During the telling time portion of the lesson I was surprised to see that a couple of students found the activity easy. About three of four of the students were well ahead of the game and knew how to tell time to the minute. I found that I lost their interest during the time introductory part of the lesson. I did, however, manage to get their attention during the class challenge part where I taught them the proper clock names (analogue/digital). I was grateful that I had prepared something a little more challenging I think that having this section in the lesson allowed me to reach out to the students that were not as interested earlier in the lesson. That very first lesson taught
I need to give them more of a challenge and keep them wanting to be engaged in the activity. I taught only four students, so maybe next time I can teach whole group so that I too am challenged. I also really need to work on giving feedback to the students. They need feedback so that they can learn, and saying “good job” every time isn’t going to help them grow in their learning,
