Donna Wilk Carbillo once quoted, “Nursing is not for everyone. It takes a very strong, intelligent, and compassionate person to take on the ills of the world with passion and purpose and work to maintain the health and well-being of the planet. No wonder we’re exhausted at the end of the day!” Donna sets the record straight, that nursing is not for everyone out in the world. If everyone was to do nursing, we would have no roads or even teachers. You also have those type of people that are gramophones that cannot handle toughing someone that is sick. Then you have people that cannot see the sight of blood or they will faint. To be nurse you have to have a specific core values. In this paper, I will discuss what has brought me to the nursing profession, how my personal values coincide with nursing values and how my personal goals relate to nursing. Most people do not think about why they become a nurse until they are older and looking back at the good old time. For me I started looking back on why I wanted to become a nurse, when everyone started asking me what I was going to college for. This brought me back to when my family and I started to get things ready for graduation. It first all started when we started to go through all of my elementary stuff and I ran across an old newspaper.
