Why are you interested in becoming a member of OTEAM?
I am interested in becoming a member of OTEAM because I want to help students love IUPUI the way I do. I tell everyone, I would not rather go to college anywhere else. I hope that I can support other students the way my OTEAM leader helped me. I loved meeting a current student who was just as excited about my success as I was. Having a terrific OTEAM leader made the entire orientation experience better. I want to be able to make relationships with incoming students and be a resource for them, just as mine was for me. I feel that the OTEAM is a job where you can genuinely make a difference.
What personal characteristics do you possess that will assist you in filling this position?
During high school, I was the drum major of the Avon marching band for three years. I was required to talk every day in front of over two hundred of my peers, as well as being interviewed for multiple sources. Learning to speak to adults with ease is one of the best skills I acquired. I know I will utilize this when speaking to the parents and guardians of the student. I was also responsible for 250 students at practice. Having such an immense amount of responsibility and accountability would be a great asset while

Coming into college has been a breath of fresh air for me. In high school, I always felt like I was learning things I never needed. With the new sense of freedom, scheduling, a diverse setting, and the opportunity to find myself, I found my home at IUPUI. So far, I have loved being a jag so much because of all the opportunities that have been presented to me. I feel that at IUPUI, student success is a top priority. I have been so grateful to have all the resources I have up until this point and I hope that I can eventually be a resource to other incoming students.
How would you describe your Jaguar
I am currently a freshman at the College of Charleston and my life so far has been great! College life is quite a transition from high school, but I am definately enjoying it. The first few weeks of this semester were kind of a struggle for me because I was away from home and had to figure out how to do everything by myself. In addition to that I had to get in the routine of classes, network with new friends, and get familiar with the campus. I am also involved with our school’s Bonner Leader Program, which is a four-year civic leadership and development program highlighted by regular training and reflection activities, along with the requirement of 200 service hours per year. Through this program, I got the opportunity of interning with Coastal
I fell in love with politics at the age of 10, the year was 2004, and I liked John Kerry because he shared my name. I also supported him because my father, at the time, was supporting George W. Bush and I was a rather antagonistic child. Over time I’ve certainly become more nuanced in the candidates I support, but that year began a lifetime journey into a field that is ever changing, ever competitive, and that impacts so many lives.
I am writing to express my interest in serving as a course developer for the College of Health and Human Services at Penn State. I have been developing and teaching courses online since 2005 and have held academic appointments at the University of Pittsburgh, Wayne State University and Virginia Tech. University. I am certified in instructional design through Indiana University and my areas of specialization are social psychology, human development, health and wellness and multi-cultural education.
I am thrilled to be attending UW-River Falls in the fall. There are so many experiences I wish to explore while attending. I feel there is a lot I can bring to the campus and very excited to get to know new people. My mom is an optometrist which has sparked an interest for me to become an ophthalmologist. I know becoming a medical professional is not an easy task, but I am sure I can do it if I work hard enough.
I want to be an OSA because I want to ensure that incoming freshman are well prepared for the college experience. When entering a college campus, becoming acquainted with the people and the daily routine can be hard. I would love to become a part of the whole process. Being a working, full-time student, I believe I can provide a viewpoint for those who wish to work and let them know that it is possible. Also, I currently work for the Auxiliary Services office here on campus. Therefore, I can answer any questions regarding meal plans, Bear bucks, and other dining services offered here on campus. I know, personally, receiving all of that information on a single day, during orientation, can be really overwhelming. I wish to become a part of the
I am writing to express my interest in the biology teaching position at Bard High School Early College (BHSEC). I am currently holding a New York City initial certification in adolescent biology education as well as a Master degree in Biology. I have experience teaching at a high school as well as a college level. I believe that my experience and qualification is a great fit for this position.
Two of my long-range goals are to spread the joy of playing music and to make a difference in this world through research and development of environment-friendly technology. Continuance of my education in music is essential for me to become more proficient as a musician, and through this journey I will have more opportunities to share the joy I experience through music. Likewise, academic training in a STEM field, specifically engineering, will allow me to move in the direction of developing technology that will sustain the environment for future generations as well as harness renewable energy thus minimizing our negative footprint on Earth.
We are finally at the end of the program that I waited so long to be a part of .This program was a great opportunity for me to get out of remedial classes. I strongly believe that this program has benefitted me in many ways, physically, mentally, and socially.
Growing up in a small fishing town afforded me the opportunity to see water in a far different perspective than most. Our waterways acted as food source and livelihood while providing a venue for recreation and aesthetic enjoyment. Because of this, a deep respect for water and environment gripped me at an early age. My fascination with water continued to flourish as I grew and watched my hometown battle both natural and man-made disasters. I actively participated in coastal recovery efforts after many hurricanes and even the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Truly sobering moments come when one is standing center-stage of a disaster realizing how something as seemingly endless as water becomes so quickly scarce. These firsthand experiences piqued my initial interest in water resources and conservation sparking many questions about spatio-temporal patterns in the realm of ecosystem services. These personal factors were a major influence on my decision to apply for enrollment in the Earth Sciences Department at the
I am one of the applicants who had the pleasure of interviewing at your phenomenal institution on March 14 and would like to thank you for considering me as a potential candidate to join the upcoming class for your Doctor of Dental Medicine program. Additionally, I would like to send this update to include onto the experiences I already listed on my application in hopes that the admission committee will arrive at an admission decision that best reflects my current compentency and repetoire as an applicant.
Since I was fifteen I have always been drawn to answering important questions, engaging in meaningful discussions, and touching lives in intentional and personal ways. My favourite thing to do is disciple; engage in authentic conversations about life, relationships, and Jesus through a mixture of counseling, mentoring, and teaching. I have been intrigued by philosophy and theology since high school. Since then I did my undergraduate degree at Summit Pacific College, close to where I live so that I could help my family build our new house, while preparing to impact my world for Christ. At Summit, I earned a BA in Religion, with a major in Biblical Theology. In this major I took exegetical coursework, first year Hebrew and Greek, and was prepared for Graduate studies with a thesis course.
OTEAM is an acronym that stands for “orientation team educating as mentors,” but an acronym can never really get to the heart of any organization. Although it might be catchy, OTEAM is much more than just an orientation team educating as mentors (even though that is part of the experience). OTEAM members are a vital part of the IUPUI campus; they are students and leaders, friends and teachers, examples and cheerleaders. And that’s only scratching the surface.
“Yale is the place that endowed me with the confidence and the grand scope of the world that a young designer needed to excel and make a difference in the real world.” – Yansong Ma. Yale University (M.Arch ’02).
Since Freshman year at Rowan University, I have aspired towards obtaining a higher education of graduate studies within the field of English Literature. Thus, I am applying to Rutgers University-Camden Masters in English program in the quest to realize my greatest career objective of pedagogy at the collegiate level. This Masters in English program will be the institution that sharpens my literary prowess and analytical writing methods.
I am applying for admission to the graduate program in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Carnegie Mellon University.
