Ever since I was young, I was exposed to a Historically Black College or University, Jackson State University. I had always went to activities and functions such as football games, summer programs, and other special events. I did not know whether I would attend a historically Black College or University (HBCU) or not at the time. I had finally decided to go to a HBCU, and I would attend Tougaloo College in the fall to further my education. I have many goals and objectives for pursing my educational experience at a historically Black College, and I plan to achieve them.
My motivations for going to college include many things that include stepping out into a bigger world than just my small hometown, also seeing what other opportunities may await me. Being able to expand my horizons is another motivation, by doing this it may open doors for me in
I want to go to college because of the chances that will present themselves in my future. These opportunities will benefit me in different aspects of my life. For instance, I will be able create a support group of lifelong friends that will be there for me during hard times, and I will gain essential knowledge that will help advance me professionally and academically. Enrolled at Miami Dade College is the starting point to complete my long life desire and goal of earning a Master degree in management engineering, and business administration. From the time I was a young kid through the time of high school, I had always have passion for more knowledge, and engineering. But in my senior year in high school to the time of summer, I have led to the discovery of another passion, and great ambition toward it (Business). However, to reach those goals, I will need the power of education, which provide more knowledge, and wisdom to whoever seek. By pursuing a college degree, I have a higher change of successes in both degree, in life also. But this question also deal with emotional feeling, pursuing a college degree
It wasn't often a personal thought of mine that there would be such a stark difference between a high school graduate and a college graduate in regards to a healthy lifestyle and a decent salary. It wasn't until recently that I fully understood the complications of not finding a decent job that pays a suitable amount to not only support myself, but much less a family. It's these complications that bring light to my mind on the importance of gaining college experience and why it's extremely critical in not only my life but the life of those around me. College is just an absolute essential factor in life that all of us should drive towards in order to better our lives.
I am attending college because I would like to have a secure career instead of just having a job that is not so secure. What motivated me to enroll was that i had the chance to get a head start on my college credits while not digging in a hole in my pocket to pay for the classes. My academic goals are to pass my college classes with A’s, and to finish off my first year of college with a 4.0 GPA. My career goals are to get a Master’s in Computer Programming and to have the chance to do something life changing related to my degree.
I would like to attend college to make a statement. When I was in middle school and my freshmen year of high school, I was not the most educated person. I want to go to college to make a career out of my self. I want to make an impact on this world when I grow up.
A short term goal that I have in the next ten days is to complete all of my college applications and successfully finish the first semester of my senior year of high school. While these may seem like very small and easily accomplishable goals, a combination of procrastination and a disease known as senioritis has limited my ability to complete these goals.
Getting a college degree not only helps you develop skills and knowledge, but to be satisfied with his/her life and have a bright future with a job people to have.
College ensures that I can enter the work force competitively and my undergraduate work can potentially then be used as a stepping stone to get a higher degree. College is a means to an end to ensure I get a well-paying job that I can advance in. I came to college to make sure I could get a job and earn a living. College means more work and work that is more difficult to complete. College means getting new opportunities to grow and learn and discover new things about yourself. College means gaining new skills and learning new things. I want to get a degree out of my college experience. I want to come out of my college experience not regretting going to college. Attending college is very tough. the percent of college dropouts is increasing every year because students are not able to handle the workload or they do not have the money to pay for it. 37.9% of students that enter a 4-year college drop out and 58.3% that goes beyond that fail to make it. The goals that I set for myself while attending college is not only to make a name for myself on campus but to withstand adversities that will try to steer me to that 37% or that 58% of not finishing what I have started and motivate other to do the same.
Earning a college degree will allow me to explore not only higher fields of academics but also to ultimately realize the full potential of my capabilities as an individual. Coming from a first generational point of view college is a privilege that was not made available to my mother and other loved ones around me. I often listen to elders talk about how much they wished that they had received a college education and how better things would be if they had the same privilege of education that I do. Although my mother highly intelligent, innovative, posses
I can honestly say that I want to go to college primarily because I believe that I can gain a deep understanding of much I want to learn about. College is an opportunity for me to gain a more profound understanding of the subjects I either did not have access to or was discouraged to do more than skim over because “...well it won’t be on the regents, so it doesn’t really matter...”.
College, to me, is not only a place to learn, but it is a place to prove my self-worth. My mother and father had to sacrifice their education in order to provide for their unexpected child at the age of 18. They both, just as I do, had visions of themselves in the future that involved a higher level of education. My goal is to prove that their mistake as young adults can now be repaired through my life and seen as a blessing. Deciding to step up to the plate and do everything possible to get into college is something I consider as one of the most important decisions in my life so far. If I had not applied for college, I would have felt as if everything my parents gave up for me to have opportunities such as this in life had no purpose.
