Observing: A Short Story

I pushed my bangs back from my face as I tapped lightly on the back door of my new job, Egg & I. I had been a server before at Cracker Barrel, which was twice the size of this new job and open much later as well, so I wasn’t worried about my last day of training before I was put on the floor by myself. One of the cooks opened the door for me and I muttered a shy ‘thank you’ before walking toward the computer to sign in. I slowed down as my eyes landed on the herd of servers huddled around my boyfriend of five years, DJ. He had gotten a job at Egg & I two weeks before me and, after telling me at length how much better this job would be than Cracker Barrel, I applied and immediately got the job.

SPC Johnson, over the month of February we, as a Company, and you, individually, have been quite busy again. You have been doing what you can to work through what you are. Your cooperation during this time has not been overlooked and I commend you for doing what needs to be done when asked of you.

I would like to offer you my most sincere apology for my rude and offensive behavior during your service at the Eunice Country Club. I understand that you were just doing your job, and I have let my frustration overcome my actions. I have taken full responsibility for the offensive things I have said or done. I can assure you that there will not be a repeat of misconduct at any time during my employment, or during any encounter with a member of the Eunice Police Department. I realize that my behavior has not only negatively affected you, but also the Eunice Country Club's business. Because of this, I will focus more on doing my job in a correct and courteous manner. I hope you accept my apology and forgive my disrespect

As I sat alone at my small table for two, I looked at my watch and noted the time of 12:10pm. As I glanced at the menu I slowly began scanning the dining area. As I suspected the lunch crowd was pretty full and I counted 36 customers in the dining area. My waiter arrived at my table and introduced himself. His name was Tony, although I am sure his full name was Anthony. He was average height, slim build, olive complexion, and dark hair. He was very polite and asked if I would like a drink before ordering and after my response he turned and retrieved my beverage. When he returned he asked if I need a few minutes to look over the menu and I responded that I did. Before leaving, he proceeded to tell me the lunch specials for the day and even made a recommendation. I thanked him as he turned and walked away.

Please note, the undue stress and outrageous behavior that you and Ms. Franco are displaying are really causing me issues that I do not need and did not ask for; it was Ms. Franco, who vehemently stated, "We've had this

First of all I wanted to say thank you for allowing me to be in guard and allowing me to gain experiences throughout my marching band career. I am writing you this letter to tell you how elated I am for you to be my teacher for the third year in a row! The reason I am so excited is because you and band have taught me valuable lessons. Some of the most important lesson I have learned from you are hard work, discipline, and pride. Without being under your supervision in guard or in guard in general, I do not believe I would have learned these values as quick as I did. You have opened my eyes to what I can and will achieve in both my marching and personal career. But the best part about the integrity that have you have instilled in me is that

“We ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER”. I just want to be able to help people like I’ve been helped. I know I am onlllyyy 28, Jeremy you have a true wildcat and you are only 36 and the only thing I need. I know you’ll listen to me complain about things that should be fixed even if I repeat it 300 times and possibly act like it’s the first time you heard it I should probably bake cookies or something for the office staff.. but I believe ill just send them an apology email when I’m out of here or you’re here and go apologize in person all Ben like…. They’d probably be afraid to eat anything I made them anyway. If you saw my homework assignments I’m sure you saw the emails I sent them drunk at 3 am… hot damnnnnn.

First, I would like to apologize for my fault as I was late to an important business meeting at the Blue Ridge Inn Hotel. I know how important this business meeting was for us. We had prepared the proposal for two years and it is a golden opportunity to present it in front of a Chief Executive Officer from Daikin Company. However, all the plans get ruined due to my personal situation today. I’m truly sorry.

Alifantis, thank you so much for your time during my audition for band and for reading this e-mail. I undoubtedly admire your zeal and ardor for music and your phenomenal teaching skills. I am immensely remorseful about withdrawing from your outstanding music

I leaned my hip against the sink and crossed my arms. "What exactly am I supposed to say, Rhonda?" I saw some of the kitchen crew look our direction. I looked down and whispered, "I’m on public display. Everything I do has consequences. Even the things that I think won’t matter, matter to someone."

I am profoundly grateful, touched by the great distinction and honor and great compliment accorded me by the authorities of Harvard this morning. I am overwhelmed, as a matter of fact, and I am rather fearful of my inability to maintain such a high rating as you 've been generous enough to accord to me. In these historic and lovely surroundings, this perfect day, and this very wonderful assembly, it is a tremendously impressive thing to an individual in my position.

1.I would like to apologize to my learning community for my recent behavior. I should not have been running throughout the halls causing a disruption of the classes.I will take the full punishment and responsibility for my actions as a fellow student and friend.

“Well well, look what we have here! I don’t remember inviting you…but that’s alright you can take a seat there,” he gestured to a vacant seat, “You look as if you need a few meals under your belt.
