The future is bright for those who try hard to succeed. I know this to be true because I have set the bar extremely high for myself. A doctor is no more than a regular person who had a dream and was willing to rearrange parts of his life to be great. I am a premed major at SVSU, which is really exciting to say because I feel closer to my dream each day. While growing up, I knew my calling to the world was making a positive change in people’s lives. Somehow the topic of obstetrician gynecologist came about and in seventh grade I began my research. I was sold at the idea that one day I could be an African- American woman performing births and surgical procedures that aid in the advancement of women. With every dream, jagged shaped obstacles appear. Whether it’s feeling like what you’ve set out to do can’t be …show more content…
I am the sister of three brothers thus challenging my tenacity and strength. Going the extra mile isn’t and has never been an option in my household. Having a strong willed mother has shown me that it’s takes more of just talking about it but actually doing the work that pays off. Serving God is the center of why I am here. Going to church and singing for the Lord will forever be my duty. Even with the more serious sides to my life, sports play a significant part in it. I ran cross country and track starting in middle school, which gave me room to spread my wings socially. Being a social butterfly is my job because through engaging in conversation, I’ve found lasting friendships. The college scene has added adventure because I have met wonderful people who have similar passions, who are ready to take action. While at SVSU, I’m involved in the Valley Voices Gospel Choir and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Singing has been a part of me since I was in the womb. I am my own DJ, singing to church music and jamming out to
While growing up, there are innumerable decisions to be made and paths to take. As I am approaching the ending point of my high school career, I have finally found the correct one for me. I show tremendous passion for both my educational and career goals, and how to reach them. My future is incredibly important to me because through doing my job, I will also be achieving my biggest goal: saving lives.
Can Joyce Byers successfully sue her attorney, Martin Brenner, for legal malpractice due to his failure to obtain child support during her divorce proceeding?

“What do you want to be when you grow up?” As a child, we have all been asked this question; and as unrealistic children, we all had dreams of being a superhero, princess, cowboy, or astronaut. Later on in life, as time went by, and as we became more knowledgeable, our answers became more serious. Some of us wanted to be teachers, business owners, or a veterinarian. However, I have always wanted to be a doctor, but not just any doctor. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a pediatrician. Now, half way through my junior year in high school, I have started to question the details of this career, and all the hard work it takes to become a part of the medical field.
Like most women, it’s important to find an OB-GYN you can trust while getting the care you deserve. Stellar Women’s Health Specialists in Wailuku shares tips on finding the best OB-GYN for your personal needs.
Maternity care in the United States is in jeopardy. There is an increasing trend of shortages of obstetrician-gynecologists and family physicians that once provided vital maternity care. With almost half of the nation’s counties lacking an obstetric provider, approximately ten million women are affected. Obstetricians-gynecologist themselves are also feeling the burdens of the understaffed hospitals and clinics with prolonged work hours. These medical professionals who dedicate their very lives to the field and the care of women are under a great amount of pressure and stress due to the shrinking workforce. Furthermore, interest amongst the youth is necessary in order to have an ample amounts of physicians available to replace the increasing
There were many things that caused World War 1. First off, World War 1 began in August 1914 and was triggered by the assassination of Franz Ferdinand and his wife on June 28th 1914 by a member of The Black Hand society, known as Gavrilo Princip. Gavrilo saw his opportunity and shot the gun into the car and shot Franz Ferdinand and his wife at point-blank range. The assassination of Franz Ferdinand and his wife was one of the reasons that caused World War 1. Immediately after Franz’s death, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia, setting off the alliances.
I’m very close to my family members, and having to miss something important makes it hard for me to choose a career that may cause that to happen. However, that passion Dr, Malone showed created a spark of interest. She showed the pleasure she had on the career she is in. She didn’t have complaints or any negative thoughts. Just like her, I want to become a woman who is passionate to talk about her career and be happy with the decision I had made. In my thoughts I can see myself working in the department of gynecology, it not only sounds interesting but a fun career to do. My passion is to help people, a bonus is if I get to know them for a long period of time. Gynecology is a way for me to interact with many patients and see them grow as I begin to take care of them. “Medical School is hard, you have to be driven”, she said this during her presentation. It both created a disinterest and also peaked my interest. Something that I may be undecided for may create a difficult time for me to become a gynecologist or any other type of physician. However, it also peaked my interest because I am the kind of person to see how far I can go with the passion and knowledge I have, I would like to see if I am capable of carrying the hardships of school work and the financial issues. Lastly, the quote “If it is your calling, you'll get tired with it, not tired of it”, she left me speechless thing twice of any career I actually want to continue on, both gynecology or any other
“Push! Push!” You’re doing great, oh my! It’s a boy!” Bringing life into this world is amazing to me. It is part of the reason I want to become an obstetrician gynecologist. People say that women’s health is a man’s world but who said that couldn’t change. When I speak on my future career, people would normally say “Wow. Not many women say that”. I feel that we need more women in the health field not only to help bring joy, but to empower through the process. In high school, biology became my favorite subject. I received a certificate with the highest GPA in biology.
I’ve always had a love for science, and an interest in the human body. Ever since I was five, i’ve screamed about becoming a “baby doctor”. Now that I am older and I know that there are many physician tittle I could have that deal with children, I choose to be a Obstetric Gynecologist, because I don’t only want to treat babies, I want to deliver them. While having my first child I experienced how thrilling bringing a child into this world could be. There are screams, tears, laughter, and anger all at the same time. When I was pregnant my Obstetric Gynecologist was doctor James Fields. I’ve observed Dr.Fields for almost a year. Nine months and two weeks to be exact. It was
Every little kid has some ludicrous idea of who they wish to become when they become an adult. Whether it be an astronaut, a scientist, or even a professional stunt man who jumps off a building and leaps over the grand canyon. Not very often do you hear about kids wanted to become a Nurse Practitioner Gynecologist, nor do they even know what one is. This is potentially one of the most important jobs out there. A WHNP is a branch of medicine that covers the help of female reproductive system. Women’s Health care is a job that is needed and, will be kept throughout history. Gynecology, isn't just about throwing the gown at women and telling them the stirrups are right behind you. This job includes empathy, compassion, patience and, a kind heart.
Before coming to SMU I was convinced that I would be a doctor. Obviously I knew that would be hard and that I will be pushed both physically and mentally, but I thought that I could withstand it. I didn’t pay any mind to the fact that I couldn’t look at blood and that even talking about needles made me pale. I also paid no mind to the fact that my whole life I have loved learning about different cultures and their history and that I had a huge passion for psychology and helping people with mental illnesses.
As a child, I recall “playing doctor” when everyone else wanted to “play school.” I wanted to play Operation; when everyone else wanted to play Monopoly. To me, doctors represented the heroes who do not save the world to earn recognition or praise, but because they truly want to partake in the betterment of others. I desire to pursue a career in obstetrics and gynecology, because I want to make the transition from womanhood to motherhood as comfortable as possible. Also, I believe that a woman can relate better to another woman. Benjamin E. Mays said, “Whatever you do, strive to do it so well that no man living and no man dead, and no man yet to be born could do it any better.” As I embark on my journey as a physician I plan to be someone the patients can trust to always provide quality, sincere
Being in the medical field in general is difficult to get into, but although it is hard there are many perks in being a OBGYN, registered nurse, benefits such as paid leave, mandatory time off and sick leave. OBGYN would help deliver babies, take care of patient and do many more other things in their 8-12 hour shift. They can even work overtime and paid hourly, but in this job a person would need to have great personality, talkative, a leader, and organization skills. I wanted to become an OBGYN because of my dad and my grandma and because I have had hands on work in the hospital I do believe I am a good fit to be an OBGYN. I still intend to pursue this job because it has become my goal in life.
I have taken stock of myself, considering my skills, experiences, and goals. I have looked to family and friends, some of whom are doctors, for advice. Because of this self-examination, I have decided to pursue a career in health care. The process has been difficult at times but always illuminating. Throughout it all, I have never lost confidence - the confidence that I will actively absorb all available medical knowledge, forge friendships with fellow students, and emerge from my training as a skilful and caring physician.
