I enjoy the simulation very much. I found it very educational as it put you in a situation to learn from actions. I felt so achieved when it finally said I won the game.and my office was fully expanded. So at the end I only missed three. One was about how often your password should be changed. I thought it was every thirty days and the answer was quarterly. The other two questions was about the USB and a firewall. I did not think about the patient’s USB containing a virus. As soon as I answered, I realized why my answer was wrong. Most of the answers are fairly obvious and it just requires the health care worker to be aware of what they say and do. I could see how the simulation could transfer to occupational therapy. Some therapist may be
Occupational therapy is a profession that is currently growing faster than anyone would have expected. Because of the increase in demands for occupational therapy services, therapists are having larger caseloads, needing the help of more occupational therapists. Occupational therapy in the mental health setting is one environment that has grown in popularity over the last decade. Knowing the benefits of occupational therapy in this setting, and the expansion of clients needing occupational therapy services, more funding needs to be established in this setting.
I hope this email finds you well. I am interested in the M.S. Occupational Therapy program in Hofstra University. Unfortunately due to conflict with my work schedule I would be unable to attend the Occupational Therapy web seminar. I was wondering if it was possible to speak to you or an admissions representative for more information and possible receive advisement.
Jacob is an active is an active 2.10-year-old boy who was evaluated at Anna L. To be honest this task was rather frustrating. I did the simulation several times but di d not make it through all the task. It was very hard to focus on what I was supposed to be doing. I think this was a great simulation to show people what people with ADHD go through. I don’t know to much about the struggles of ADHD but I understand ADD completely. I have ADD, and sometime it seems like it’s almost imposable to focus. I found way to get around it, and I think that’s what good teachers do. They find out what the students struggle with and find ways to work around it.

My roles of occupation in my life are being a student, daughter, sister, and an employee. As this moment, my main role is being student in occupational therapy program. I attend to every single classes with a main purpose that I will receive the knowledge that I need to know in order to get my degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance.
I was surprised to see how competitive the field of occupational therapy was. The field is getting very popular so getting into the program is difficult. There is a chance that one must apply to several accredited schools numerous times to get accepted, not to mention that there are limited spots in a class (“Signs OT is Not Right For You, Johnson,” 2015). I was also surprised to learn that one participates in field work much like nursing students. I initially thought that field work is not necessary and all the training is done in the classroom. The limited number of accredited schools in California is also surprising! This revelation makes me feel a little concerned. I think there should be more schools that offer this program. Additional
Occupational Therapy has played a role in helping those with Mental and physical disabilities in the United States since 1917. Before that time, Occupational Therapy was used solely in mental institutions to help people that were "more normal" and able to function in a social status. I have had many experiences that may have an impact on my career as an Occupational Therapist. When my grandfather suffered a stroke in 2009, I watched therapist closely and asked many questions so that when he was discharged I would be able to help out at home. Occupational therapist helped my grandfather learn how to do basic daily activities again which he could no longer do due to the stroke. Going through this life changing experience I believe will have an impact on my career as an occupational therapist. The compassion and knowledge shown to my family and I during this time is something I can use when I begin my career as an occupational Therapist. When my granddad was in the rehab center after suffering from a massive stroke I closely
Occupational therapy helps to heal a multitude of disabilities; the current high demand for therapists is somewhat due to modern issues, but some have been occurring since the beginning of mankind. Missing a limb is one problem that has occurred for millennium. There is documented evidence that humans have tried to replace a missing appendage since approximately 950 B.C. Throughout time prosthetics have mainly been produced with crude leftover supplies like wood, metal, and leather. More recently, rapid advancements in technology have helped progress the artificial limb from a beam of wood to a robotic arm controlled by the persons own thoughts. To fully understand the accomplishments of today, it is essential to understand the evolution
A father appearing to be in his mid-forties plays basketball at a basketball court Speno Park in East Meadow, New York, with his daughter, who appeared to be seven years old. The daughter displayed two basketballs and practiced dribbling with both hands using both balls while her father supervised her. The daughter then passes one ball to her father, practicing bouncing the ball while passing it to him. They were playing and passing balls to each other. The father coaches daughter on techniques to effectively to bounce the basketballs and dribble. After the father coached his daughter, both people left the basketball to take a two minute water break in the benches under the shade from the trees. After the break, the daughter practiced aiming and shooting one basketball into the hoops and made shot three hoops.
Occupational therapy students complete “field work” in the summer. This field work is arranged through Quinnipiac. We are required to work 40 hours per week at our assigned organization for no compensation. I am also working as a waitress nights and weekends to earn money, so I have to borrow less for school. I will also waitress during the school year to cover rent and living expenses. I have received an academic scholarship and plan to borrow the balance from a couple of sources. With a full course load and a part-time job, this scholarship will allow me be able to cut down on the hours I am working and spend more of my time volunteering and providing services to my community.
A job in any type of therapeutic healthcare can be a rewarding and satisfying job. However, I believe that occupational therapy is a special and extremely rewarding field. A field in which I am over the moon passionate about and completely infatuated with. It is the thought of helping people who have been through horrible tragedies to turn everything around and live a happy healthy life that drives me the most. I feel very strongly as though this profession is where I am meant to work in and make a difference in patient’s lives. The more I research topics and studies of occupational therapy the more infatuated with the field I become because it is much more than just a job. To me, this career is a lifestyle
Without occupational therapists, millions of people would struggle to live their everyday lives. Occupational therapists give specialized assistance to people with physical, developmental, social or emotional problems. This assistance is used to live productive and independent or semi independent lives. Occupational therapists can be used, and is effective for people of all ages. Many people have not heard of occupational therapy and are not aware of the positive impact it has on members of our society. With this paper I want to spread the knowledge that I have on occupational therapy. Many people that could benefit from occupational therapy do not even know that it exists. This career is difficult for everyone involved, but the impact it has
