Ocean pollution is caused by many things,plastic,humans, and oil spills, we are trying to stop this. So many people just put the plastic in the ocean and people are trying to stop them. Two billion people within 30 miles of the coast create 100m of coastal plastic waste. We can help by reducing plastic in waste stream, and try to stop pollution. Another way we can help is by recycling (Doc.1). We cause pollution to by dumping trash and garbage onto beaches. We have to help protect oceans by monitoring the water to see if people can go swimming (Doc.2). The oceans have to stay healthy because they are a habitat to animals (OI). I'm in the ocean every day, it’s my second home. Because of this, I am very sensitive to literary and other pollution that ends up in our oceans. I can't walk down the beach today without seeing a pile of trash. Because of this curiosity, I wanted to research what another type of litter fill our local ocean. Our ocean is filthy, Plastics and fibers make their way into the sea naturally every day. Apart from the rest of the trash, some of these plastics and fibers are microscopic, coining the term microfibers or microplastics. This problem is getting worse. Much like global warming in the past, this problem is not clearly obvious. As a society, we have made numerous efforts to begin to clean up our oceans and beaches, but our tiny particle problem still goes undetected, unevaluated, and unresolved for most of the world's population. So we will probably ask how are they getting there?
The proper process in restoring wetlands is fundamental to recover some of the lost habitats and biodiversity from our lifestyle. Ensuring this recovery could change our lives. Meanwhile, it is the mentality and innocence about the importance of this topic what doesn’t lead to more restoration of natural habitats. However, changing out the mentality towards nature through education will ensure quality of life for us and the generations yet to come. This paper will be focused specifically on the production of Driscoll’s red raspberries. I will be looking at their supplier Reiter Affiliated Companies, the labor conditions, wages, and difference between the conventional and organic raspberries. There has also been a movement to change the definition of organic and alternative foods so that it also includes the labor conditions. Therefore, there will be clearer difference between organic foods and nonorganic other than just environmental and sustainable differences between the two. The goal is to describe the production and process of distributing raspberries from the time they are planted until they are pick and then distributed in stores.
I examine how rising or falling tide can affect the water level of Corte Madera Salt Marsh in this report. The data is from Wednesday (June 19th) and Thursday (June 20th). My hypothesis is that tide and water level have positive relationship. From the result, I learn that the water level and tide have positive relationship. However, when tide changes its direction, the water level is likely to stay or little change.
So far, many measures have been taken to conserve Oshawa’s Second Marsh. Firstly, a dike was created along Harmony Creek to prevent the sediment- and nutrient-overloaded water from directly entering the marsh, which can improve water quality (Wilcox & Whillans, 1999). A fish pathway has been built along the dike, which can used to prevent carp from getting into the wetland, and a water-control structure was also constructed, which allows water to get in or out when required (Wilcox & Whillans, 1999). Secondly, several methods, including physical harvesting, chemical control, and biological control, have been used to control and manage invasive species (Wilcox & Whillans, 1999). The beautiful town of Stillwater is located on the St. Croix river in the St. Croix River Valley and is known as the Birthplace of Minnesota. The early days of Stillwater were uncertain and uneasy as the land was fought over for many years. The coveted land transitioned from being part of Wisconsin territory to being included in Washington county in 1938. All the while, lumbering interests drew many to the area and white settlers took up residence in Stillwater. One former soldier, Indian trader, Justice of the Peace and promoter, Joseph Renshaw Brown had been in the area since 1820. He had set up a store and farm at Grey Cloud Island and kept a warehouse at the head of Lake St. Croix to supply upriver fur trading operations. This warehouse, which was located where North Stillwater stands today, grew into a small village that he called “Dacotah”. In 1840 the first ferry was licensed to operate across the St. Croix.
