Inspired by a true story, October Baby is a coming-of-age Christian anti-abortion based movie of the trials and travels of an abortion survivor 19-year-old Hannah.
Hannah, a freshman in college, has had a life of asthma, major depression, and epilepsy. While on theatrical stage in her first college debut, Hannah collapses on stage in a seizure. After running tests on Hannah in the hospital, the doctor suggests that her lifelong health issues could possibly be because she is a survivor of abortion. This is the first time Hannah not only learns she’s an abortion survivor, but adopted too. In anguish and searching for answers, Hannah journeys with her friends to Mobile, Alabama in search of her birthmother. When Hannah first reconnects with her birthmother, Cindy, tracking her down at her work office, Cindy rejects her yet as again as she did at her failed abortion. Hannah finds herself asking God what to do in her situation.

Hannah simply leaves her birthmother's hospital bracelet she had worn during the attempted abortion, with a note attached that only read "I forgive you." on her birthmother’s desk, and walks away. When Cindy returns to her office and reads the note, she slides down the door and begins to cry. Cindy, played by actress Shari Rigby, wasn’t acting in this scene, for this scene Rigby’s emotions were true to heart. When October Baby directors Andrew Erwin and Jo Erwin asked actress Shari Rigby to play the birthmother Cindy, Rigby had no idea how hard the role would hit home for her. After reading the script, Rigby confessed to the directors that she herself had had an abortion at a young age, and that the birth mother in the movie resembled her life past so well. As the credits of October Baby start rolling, a very emotional interview of Rigby and the directors starts

Alexandra Tsiaras came up with a phenomenal way of describing conception to birth in his interview he did for Ted Talk. There were several things and little details that I truthfully did not know happened so fast during a woman’s pregnancy. It amazes me how people can go through with abortion after watching a video like Conception to Birth. Alexandra Tsiara’s visuals on conception to birth show a whole new outline of how fast a baby becomes a human, and that makes it that much more precious.
Peggy Sturmfels was adopted in the early 1990’s when she was two weeks old. Her birth parents were just teenagers and couldn’t even take care of themselves therefore they felt it would be in Peggi’s best interest if they allow her to get the best life possible with someone who could provide for her. They opted for a closed adoption because at the time no one knew she was even pregnant. Her adoptive parents John and Gabrielle Sturmfels agreed with Peggy’s birth parents and vowed not to tell her about the adoption. To her birth parent’s wishes John and Gabrielle gave Peggy the best life a child could imagine, she was their little princess and they treated her like royalty. Peggy was sent to the best schools and graduated high school as valedictorian. After graduation John and Gabrielle had a huge surprise for Peggy; they were going to allow her to attend the college of her dreams: UCLA. Peggi had dreamed to go there but her parents did not feel comfortable with her being so far away from home. Three months later Peggi had packed up and had started her first semester of college. She was doing very well and passing all her classes so she felt it was time for her to have a night to just relax and have some fun. Her friend Abby suggested that they go to one of the Frat parties close to their dorm. Peggy agreed and they went. At the party there was drugs and alcohol everywhere and Peggi didn 't feel comfortable but Abby insisted she stayed and referred to her as a “party pooper”.

The movie “Babies” was a beautiful film I loved it I actually watched it three times and could not look away it was a very eye opening documentary for me. It is about cultures and differences within them it was truly amazing seeing the different cultures and there parenting methods. I was truly shocked that these four babies are in four very different cultures but all of them were reaching their milestones and developing all around the same time. I would have never thought that the parenting styles would be so similar to each other. In the documentary each child was loved from their parents and family. Each family was very different but all still spent time with there baby and loved them. The film starts from them being born till they are one-year old it shows you how they develop from culture to culture. It shows attachment styles in all four cultures and the results were surprising.
Porter begins the story with Miranda and her brother Paul exploring a graveyard while out hunting. As they continue with their hunt, Paul shoots a rabbit that is about to give birth. Paul proceeds to carefully slit the dead rabbit open revealing her young unborn babies. This moment is an epiphany for young Miranda as she understands the meaning of rebirth and the cycle of life and death. Miranda later reflects upon this incident years later in a foreign city’s busy bazaar and is reminded of the event that transformed her from an innocent child to a more experienced and knowledgeable young woman.

On November 18, 1978 what has been called the largest mass suicide in modern history occurred in Jonestown, Guyana where 909 members of The Peoples Temple died. Jim Jones was the leader of the Peoples Temple Church and religious movement. The church was looked highly upon by many back in the 1950-1970’s. All races and backgrounds were brought together as one in his congregation. Religion serves as a sanctuary from the harshness of everyday life and oppression by the powerful. Most of Jones’s followers lived lives that they were dissatisfied with and they felt as if the movement gave them a purpose. Many of his followers believed that Jim brought more opportunities into their lives and allowed them to change for

In Time is a film set in the future that I believe best represents the theme of class. Counting down minutes is taken to a whole new level in this futuristic film. Disease is nonexistent and the only concern in which the population faces is what to do with their time. Humans are engineered to stop ageing at twenty-five and our given just a year longer to live, unless they work for extra time. The main character Will Salas is accused of murder and also of stealing extra time from those he’s murdered. In short Will must find a way to prove his innocence and take down the retched system that the oppressed hate so much. The film aired the 28th of October 2011, and stared actor/musician Justin Timberlake.
Figurative language is used to emphasize Cassie and her emotions in her experiences and interactions and how she learns from that. Epiphany is used to convey how both Cassie and Stacey learned from their mistakes and simultaneously grew from said mistakes. Many other characters in this book go through an experience they could learn from, but don’t learn from it (e.g. T.J.). But, Stacey and Cassie, thanks to their parents they learn from their mistakes and experiences and get a life lesson along with it. Taylor's book displays a variety of themes but the most prominent theme is that making mistakes is part of life, and is okay, but it is important that you learn from those mistakes and grow from
Keely- Young woman who is in her early thirties and got raped by her ex-husband living her pregnant.
One thing we don’t see in the film about the lives of the baby is their developmental stages. We don’t see when the babies in the different countries crawl, walk, and talk. The film somewhat portrayed the baby accomplishments but we don’t know at what point each baby started to do these things. The
