Do you know the all mighty king Odysseus, the King of Ithaca? In the epic poem, The Odyssey by Homer Odysseus sailed out to war leaving his wife and son for 10 years. On his journey back home he had been lost at sea because of all the other gods and as time went by it had been another additional 10 years. So after 20 years he finally made it back home to see intruders in his home trying to take over his empire/kingdom and he had to make a plan to kill them. But he couldn't reveal himself at this time so he had to disguise himself until it was to time for him to reveal himself.

Odysseus is smart, for example, when he seen the cyclopes he didn't know what to do and then he thought about it and he had an idea which was to get the cyclopes drunk. Odysseus attempted to kill the cyclopes but he didn’t kill him all the way. He gave the cyclopes wine and waited until he passed out he then sharpened a stick and positioned his men in their places. He stay up many days and nights making sure they didn’t open it until one day his body shut down and he had got plenty of rest and they opened it and was once again lost at sea. This shows that he missed being home with his wife and his family who lived there in Ithaca. This is important because without his family he wasn’t complete half there in Ithaca and the other half with him lost at sea. In addition he did his best to lead the way back to home avoiding everything he could and trying to keep his men calm while facing all the obstacles that were in their way. This shows that he wanted to get home quick so he could care for his family and the people living in his kingdom. This indicates that he didn’t wanna stay away forever he needed to get back home to his family. Therefore he did what had had to be done in order to make it back home after 20
