One of the worst trials I have ever faced was when I was away from home not knowing wether I was to return home or not. I was 8 years old when my siblings and i were taken away from my mother. I cant remeber why all I remember was the brusies on my sisters arm. I rember my mother saying to my sister " i'm sorry, im so sorry" as the tears rolled down her face and the hurt roared out of her mouth. Consequently her ations cuased that pain, at that moment I knew that I had to be strong just like odysseus when he had to be strong for his wife and his child. I had arrived at my new "home" in converse texas, it wasnt very far from my old home in san antonio texas. I was so scared of what was gonna happen to me and my siblings based
Odysseus and I demonstrate determination in multiple ways. Odysseus never gave up despite being trapped in a Cyclops’ home. Countless men were slaughtered by Polyphemus, but Odysseus never gave up on escaping the clutches of the horrid Cyclops. He gathered and carefully formulated a plan. Odysseus spotted an Olive Tree branch, and he whittled it down until it was a lethal spear. When Polyphemus laid down to rest, Odysseus and his men jabbed the spear into his eye. Odysseus was determined to see his family once more, even if a monster five times his size stands in the way. Another time Odysseus portrayed determination took place in the Sea of Monsters, when he confronted numerous sirens and two horrifying monster.
At then end of the Odyssey, Odysseus kills all of the wooers and everyone associated with their plan. I believe that his actions were justified because of what the wooers did. I also think that no one was punished that should not have been. The punishment might have been a bit too severe, but i do not blame him for what he did.
Throughout the Odyssey, Odysseus can be seen making quite risky decisions that put his men in danger. Nonetheless, Odysseus still has redeeming qualities because he tries to bring all of his men home. In Homer’s, The Odyssey, Odysseus' bad qualities, or his arrogance, pride and being self-centered hurt his men throughout the epic poem.
After the Trojan war all of the Greek warriors had made it home, except for Odysseus and his men. For them the journey home had many twists and turns that caused them to be away from home for more than 10 years after the war. Their delay was caused because of their inability to follow direct orders and resist the temptation of disobedience. It was for this same reason why none of them made it home, except for Odysseus; although he was the main culprit for heeding to temptation.

“Are you flesh and blood, Odysseus, to endure more than a man can? Do you never tire? God, look at you, iron is what you’re made of” (12.162-164). In the epic poem, The Odyssey by Homer, the focus is on the journey of Odysseus, the island of Ithaca’s king, after he defeated the Trojans in a war that spanned ten years. He travels far and wide in an attempt to get home to his wife and son, but is repeatedly blocked from doing so by gods, nymphs, and monsters alike. One of the major themes of Homer’s Odyssey is the importance of cunning over strength. This also happens to be the case with Odysseus and his long ten year journey home from fighting in Troy. Odysseus uses his intelligence over strength to ‘fight’ through tough times and bring himself home to Ithaca. Odysseus uses his intelligence when he has his men tie him down while passing the Sirens, so he himself will be able to hear their beautiful song, but not be entranced by their singing. He also uses cunning to escape from the Cyclops’ cave without being harmed. He then uses his cunning by storing away all of the armory, shields, and knives from the suitors so he is able to kill them easily.
